Yes, it can be difficult knowing the right path to take, but as someone a bit farther down the 'age path' than yourself, I have found that one can always make more money, but you can't make more time. So go out, have those adventures the best you can so when you do have to go back to 'a job' you have wonderful memories to think about while you do that job. And embracing a new adventure now, will provide an endless supply of motivation to earn money so you can go back out on another memory making adventure. And don't worry about finding the perfect job. Jobs will always be out there. Always.
Gosh it is SO HARD. I grew up in a very strict/abusive environment too so I was always measured by what I could produce, or if I was good enough or if I could probe myself enough. So I put A LOT of pressure on myself to be something of 'worth' and I think that's my problem. Especially as I have never even defined what I think the worth is 😂 so I make achieving that impossible. Though again that's probably a thought process product of my upbringing, because the goalposts were CONSTANTLY changed on me. Just when I thought I was enough and worthy... I wasn't. But that aside, you're right. Time is something you cannot make more of. But money is something you can... That's what I'm afraid of, time running away and me waking up one day knowing I let it happen. Time already does run away! I swear I was 25 only yesterday!
Going for the walk was the thing you needed. Take at least one per day. An easy job for you would be dog walking. Whittling is therapeutic but if you don't learn it correctly, it can be hazardous for fingers. Almost all crafts are relaxing and can make some money. Don't ignore knitting because it doesn't require much investment and you can do it automatically while watching TV. One friend of mine used to make sculptures from old car parts. When it was finished, he'd set it up in his front yard and they usually sold in a week. All you need is imagination to come up with a business idea. I'm rooting for you. Good Luck, Rick
Love your rants and how you open you are to complete strangers. All though I haven't watched or commented on all of your videos since you were in the States, I still tune in from time to time. Thanks for sharing, Pip Pip Cheerio!
Rants 😂 I love that you guys love them. This is probably one of the main things in my life that actually fulfills me to be honest. Is that sad? I'm not sure! Pip pip!
Hope your feeling ok.. you have a great personality and your videos are so honest and open.. there is a great life for you.dont beat yourself just relax and ride the river and paddle where you want.. After 6 months off with depression...mental health is top of my list. I need to exercise or meditate or note thoughts daily. If your head is clear enough to work part time that could be good. If not thats ok. If you lived in the woods you would need to farm... Maybe farming or gardening forestry be good. Maybe moving to the country.. or new country. Need to enjoy life..or at least be at peace. Do things you like often. Positive thoughts when walking or listening to music fuel me for my mundane job. It is difficult and I pray for you. Wish I could help more. But you are bright and intelligent and full of energy.. so you will do well. It's not always good to over think at times. Really enjoy some time off. Recharge brain and body and soul. Put your paddle up and see where your river takes you. God bless.
I loved reading your thoughts. I hope you're feeling a bit better than when you first had to take that time off. Depression is a hell of a thing, it can be so isolating too. I'm glad you have figured out day to day rituals that help you feel more at peace mentally! Mine, I guess, is exercise... which is probably at least some of the reason why I couldn't stomach my last job, as I was sat on my butt all day and then didn't have the same energy at the end of the day to go and work out to my full potential. Exercise keeps me sane! I am trying to do what you suggested: rest and reassess basically! Applying to jobs that require little to no thought and keep my body active, whilst considering something I could have as a 'side hustle'... or an area to retrain in to. I wish you ALL the happiness and resilience to keep at it in this bullshit world haha. Though it sounds like you already have so much resilience! I appreciate you taking the time out to spur me on 🖤
@@appalachiangirluk9960 thankyou... hope you find peace...life can be good too... maybe put your feet in a river. Sleep under stars. Get big hugs. Just relax. Turn brain off. I wouldn't say I'm resilient. But like you I know when I'm going the wrong way.. usually... your plan sounds great.. I know you will do good. Dont panic. Just keep positive. god bless
nice. i do feel validated. i refuse to start a new job i already know i dont like. although i would need money to do the hikes and traveling i would love to do, too. somehow i believe that some miraculous fun thing will appear before me in the near future and let me earn money. not sure what i have to do to find it, maybe meet the right person or be at the right place at the right time. but i'm sure it will be awesome!
This is what keeps my hope alive too - that, over the course of just living my life, trying things out, something will present itself or it will suddenly become clear to me which path is the best to take. I guess I can at least tell myself I've gone through a great process of elimination already 😂. I've definitely eliminated a few more job roles than the average person haha!
I was just watching Mary Mansfield's new video. I commented that she was doing a lot of tourist advertising for her area with her walks. It then occurred to me that you might want to think of doing something like that. Grow your YT channel by more frequent videos and have the fun of exploring your local trails and places of interest. Maybe there is a government agency that would give a grant for you to help encourage tourism locally. This way you would have fun and be your own boss. Good Luck, Rick
Wonderful to see you again. 👍. Nope, I never delete. But I have to catch up with your last few videos. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here on YT. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That mayyyyy not be for a year or so yet! 💲💵💸 ... but I was considering a last-minute decision to do the Southwest Coastal Path before the summer is up 🤔
@@appalachiangirluk9960 I had to Google your next walk lol and it looks epic .I've took holidays in stunning st Ives and found a theatre built into a cliff 👍enjoy your wander my friend 😋👍🏴
