How to make shuck beans aka leather britches

I am going to share one of my childhood memories... Also a great way to preserve green beans without canning or freezing
Fresh green beans amounts of your choice
strong thread, twine, or kite string cut in 2 ft lengths
big needle
Simply wash the beans, snap the ends, remove strings
With the first bean tie the string around it to make sure it is totally secure
With needle push thru the bean in the center of each bean you put onto the string
When you get 6-8 inches from the end, stop adding beans and find a secure place to tie the string to
Let hang for 2-3 weeks in a moisture free place until dry and leathery...
You can store in a paper bag in the cabinet, a big glass jar, or even in a plastic storage bag in the freezer until you decide to use.
To prepare soak over night in water and rinse
Drain add fresh water and prepare in the usual way that you prefer to make fresh green beans
