Home Canned Tomato Sauce Start To Finish !!

  • Tomato Sauce
    Washed, cored and tomatoes cut into quarters
    salt
    lemon juice
    I filled up a turkey roaster with the tomatoes. Set the temp to 220*. Cover and let simmer for 12-24 hours total. Stir occasionally.
    When the tomatoes have shrunk to at least half of the roaster full use an immersion blender and puree the tomatoes.
    You will probably need to let cook down more. There is still liquid in there. It will cook down faster if you remove the lid.
    Put the tomato sauce into clean and hot jars. Add 1/2 tsp of salt and 1 TBSP of lemon juice per jar. Wipe rim and put new flats on there. Add ring and tighten to finger tight.
    Have the water heating up in your canner so there will be no thermal shock.
    Process pints for 35 minutes or quarts for 40 minutes in a water bath canner.

    Yummy tomatoes. So many possibilities. Them were some beautiful tomatoes. I think I saw some Mr. Stripey's in there. Those are my favorite raw. Yum. I clicked like for number one and it didn't give you a like... hmmm. I refreshed the page, still no like. Idk what you tube is up to but I did just so you know. It is indeed the best feeling to know that our foods we put back/grow don't have all those words that you can't pronounce in em...ya know with the exception to what might have been in the ground or the air that is. ;)
