Ah man… I’ve been there. Taking up the whole driveway for a week, ripping apart trim, carpet, seats, gerni, carpet cleaner… of course it rained too so nothing dried when I needed it to haha. You did a fantastic job though - it came up quite clean in the end. Well done!
Nice bud, I'd checks out the Airbox before talking to the mechanic anyways, it's a must after any water situation like that esp with a std Airbox and still taken it afterwards. Was it sealed? The factory snorkel is not sealed. You should check out what Ryco say about what damage you do to a std air filter by using air to blow it out or clean it! I see mechanics do his also and it's a bad habit, esp if as you say it's one of the most important preventive functions your truck or car has! Why I have always used after market cleanable filters, something I did religiously from the time I raced MX and bought my first bikes as a kid. My 80s has a aftermarket air box and Uni Filter, so it's fully serviceable the right way! Not by blasting wth air! Recommend you watch that vid on there site and make up your own minds.. Good effort on the cleaning, I use Bowdens Agent Orange on eveything afterwards engine bay the floor oans makeit smell nice, might be useful in future, very effective and smells bice, ya did a great job🤘
Thanks mate, I didn’t know that about blowing them out with compressed air, great tip. We did open it up as soon as we finished the recovery and it was fairly wet, that was one of the main reasons we decided to trailer it home and not drive any more. The air box definitely needs upgrading, we have both fitted safari armax snorkels so no issue there.
Safe to say that factory air box isn’t doing its job, the clean side is filthy
Agreed mate, we need to look at a better solution.
@ especially with a new engine in it, I run a patrol docta one in mine and it fits up with the armax.
Have had no issues since installing
Thanks mate, appreciate your help, I’ll definitely check them out. As you say it’s a brand new engine, want to protect it as best as possible

Y didn't Andy do any cleaning???
He had to leave to go to work up north for a month, so didn’t want it to sit like that all that time. Don’t worry, he owes me big time!!!
