  • This video is the third part of Aju John's interview with Mumbai-based Senior Advocate, Majid Memon.
"Criminal law needs some reforms. Firstly we must have faster process. We must expedite our pending cases and see that they end up within three to five years. A criminal case that is pending for ten, fifteen years is a mockery. Secondly, special attention must be provided to tightening the grip on frivolous and malicious prosecution. The law must be more vigorous on the law of perjury."
Police reforms are very essential, said Majid Memon. "The police officer is the instrument of law. He must be feared because he is equipped with the authority of law. People today fear police because of the manner in which they abuse the law, not because they are the law enforcers." It is essential to look after the police officers well, they must not be tempted.
"Corruption is a deep-rooted problem. Policemen and judges are the two classes of people who must be above suspicion."
"Media is a very healthy and important instrument of our democracy. Sometimes media borders on such areas, which are grey and forbidden. Judges also are part of the society, inadvertently they are bound to be influenced by the view created by the media."

JUST stumbled upon this video while seeing some videos that Mark Szabo reffered me to from the online community, just at the whittier public library enjoying some music. Stopped to sign in and vote for stricter laws against perjury in The State of California
