This time I want to share my latest purchase with you: A Sony WM-D6C :)
This was a very decent piece of audio equipment back in the 80s and 90s, but it was very expensive back then and it is very expensive today as well, because it has become a collector's item.
Anyway, I managed to get hold of one for a price that I was wanting to pay for it and now it is here!

Analog is still the best i don't know for later but still holds the scepters of the natural sound and this little buddy here brings back memories from the days :-)
I used a d6c in 1993 in Vienna to record my singing while I was studying there.
The Pro-Walkman price was,trade price was £125.00 in U.k, in 1980's and £250.00 retail.
In 2022 the prices for a good range from £200 up to £1200 and more . When they’re working properly they are excellent 😊
Prices must have over climbed the last few years.

Hey does the record volume affect a line in recording? Or only a mic recording?
The volume dial affects the line in recording. You can adjust input volume for the line in port with it just fine when recording via line in.
My speed adjuster does not work :-( I need to get it repaired

Stupid question but what's the difference in using an aux cord vs rca?
Aux just stands for auxiliary and is not a connector type but just a generic name for any type of input (or output), usually line level, on a piece of equipment. RCA is a type of connector also called phono or cinch found as the usual type of connection on hifi gear.
The headphone jack versus the line out: the line out is attenuated because it doesn’t need a drive a speaker. The headphone output is louder, because it has to drive the speakers in the headphones.
I would be clamouring over people to buy one of these in that condition for €200, the prices have skyrocketed!

I got it on eBay Kleinanzeigen, a special “ Gumtree-like“ eBay service in Germany.
Ebay, they sell around £250.00 to £500.00

@@amimasteronline4675 you said you got it for much cheaper than 200€ but the cheapest i can find on ebay kleinanzeigen are 250 - 300€, most are about 500€!

@@auerbacher69 I uploaded the video some time ago and due to time passing by and WM-D6Cs getting more rare prices are still going up unfortunately.
mine cost me $3 australian Dollars 3 months ago with the case and strap serial number 30720 very clean machine

@Marcus i had no idea how much they sell for on ebay but i knew it had ti be more than 3 bucks .a lady picked it up before me and couldn't find where to put the batteries so put it back and i grabbed it ;)

If you could find one of these for €200 today I think a lot of people would jump at that including me did the cheapest one I've seen is 770 euros
The signal/noise ratio would be better if you recorded at a higher level ^^

@@ChannelNotFound plenty of sites were you can find them for sometimes even less then 300 like catawiki for example, they come up regularly. A person asking 1000 is a con man and should be behind bars
It is a good device but not excepional, no way they are even remotely worth that kind of money.

HORRIBLE MUSIC
I decided to use NCS tracks, because I don't have to worry about any copyright issues. Sure I could have chosen something else without copyright on it or something else that is royalty-free, but I had some NCS tracks on Minidisc readily available... and ... I actually don't think any of the artists on NCS make horrible music, but that is a totally personal opition and that's why everybody can decide what he or she likes to listen to :)
