The raw power of Ann's voice is phenomenal. She is one of the top vocalists of all time. Such a beautiful voice... And Nancy is my favorite female guitarist of all time. She kicks butt!!
it’s the same argument i hear with all the Steve Perry like singers. 80s music had everything: Rock, Metal, Country, Rap, Pop, Jazz, instrumental … and the birth of hip hop. now it’s a lot of songs that kinda sound the same
Respectfully disagree with the "relatively unchanged" assessment - most of her upper register range is gone now, which is to be expected in her early 70s (age 73 in 2024). She can still sing pretty well in lower keys, though.
Ann's voice is like a fine wine, it just gets better with age. I saw them in Cleavland with Journey and Cheap Trick two years ago. I think Heart owned that show!
Jason Weber uaoooo great u could enjoy heart at that moment. I was only 4 in 1987, but i remember a bit when my siblings listened that song at the radio. So, which were the best songs in usa that year for u jason??
The best version of this song hands down, NOBODY can top these two singing this! their voices are incredible, both are powerful, and Nancy with those incredible backing vocals!!!
LIVE!! WOW. Ann Wilson sounded so phenomenal I thought it was the studio version. So many have tried to sing ALONE and while they are good, there is only ONE GREAT. 🤩😍👍
Every time she explodes with that "till now" i fall on my knees, overloaded by that power. And if Ann is the queen Nancy has to be at least the princess, her backing vocals are sweet as honey, i think that she can outclass, easily, a good 60/70% of other lead singers on the planet. That's how good they are
ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT, BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!! Ann Wilson's vocals blow me away each time she belts this song. She can sing me lullabies each night while I am cuddled up in her arms for all its worth.
Always loved the golden timbre and tone of Ann’s voice, she brings so much soul. She has great power, a super growl and huskiness that she uses exceptionally well at the right time. Just as good live as in studio.
Heart ❤️❤️❤️ I fell instantly in love with em when I first listened to their amazing album Bad Animals back in 1987.. since then many artists and albums went by - but my love for Heart still remains!!!!
Saw Heart open for Def Leppard last night at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. After hearing Ann sing, all I can say is...I would do her in a second. She just exuded this confidence and sheer power the entire time she was on stage...and this is coming from a 21 year old who was never around back in the day!
Nancy Wilson never got the credit for her singing talent in my opinion. Her backing vocals on this song showcase her amazing vocal talent and range. Without her singing, there is no Heart.
She's a great singer .. in her own right . The problem is Ann is so freakishly amazing ! that it gets overshadowed . But i don't think she minds as she seemed happy with backups , and loved playing guitar as much as singing .
Nancy has got a lot of credit. The Nancy fronted songs like “These dreams” and “There’s the girl” topped the charts in the 80s. And then there’s her guitar playing. The dual vocals between Nancy and Ann inspired tonnes of bands after. For instance Alice in Chains have repeatedly paid respect to Heart.
She's like the rock version of Mariah or Whitney... Best vocals in female rock music ! Plus she can also do blues, ballads, pop... She's fabulous . So is Nancy- plays a dozen instruments
+Roma Maffia Fanpage Whitney YES! Mariah live? I donno cause I dont follow her. For me...Live for Country it is Natalie Maines..for Pop/R&B Whitney. For Rock Ann is the best for me with Melissa 2nd
It's like many singers nowadays relying on mic echoes, remixing and other tricks and then you have Wilson, whose range is like 44-inch vertical in basketball.
What a voice Ann has. Certain singers just have that unmistakable voice such as Steve Perry, Peter Cetera, and naturally Ann Wilson. Looking forward to seeing them live.
The BEST female Rock-Voice or Voice whatsoever, and she is Doing SOOOOOOOO good now !! Love ya Ann Wilson......Tears in my eyes.....It chills me to the Bone
These two ladies are simply amazing. Ann gets the glass shattering power but Nancys brilliant backing vocals binds it all together. The greatest women in rock period !
Ann is as always. INCREDIBLE.Sounding better live than on the radio.Know what else? She always had the most SOLID guitarists. They were simply..awesome.Go onto the Heart catalogue of videos, and you'll realise that too.
Can't. Stop. Listening! Seriously, this is how Alone should have been recorded. It's a POWER BALLAD and needs to be played as such. Or go acoustic and let Ann bring the POWER to the ballad. Either way, my mind has been blown
Drummer, Denny Carmassi shows again why he is the best power ballad, slow metal or whatever you call it, drummer in the world. Power and timing. Awesome!
Just watched the live 2003 version! they look a bit different, but don't we all, but the sound!!! unbelievable!!!! and now we are at the end of 2008!!! 80's CLASSIC
I saw them in December 1987 at the Hampton Coliseum in VA. Mr. Mister opened. They put on an excellent show. I was going to see them in February 1986 at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC, but the sudden death of my uncle prevented that. But, that's life. RIP Uncle J.
The raw power of Ann's voice is phenomenal. She is one of the top vocalists of all time. Such a beautiful voice... And Nancy is my favorite female guitarist of all time. She kicks butt!!
Every time i listen to these Ladies it takes me back to when life was good and everything was an adventure. Unlike today
One of my favorite songs I'm 82 yes old so this was my kind of music.
In my opinion, Ann is the best female rock vocalist of all time.
exactly
Brian Nunes in my opinion, Pat Benatar is the best. Ann is second.
Why is it not sold that way to us?
Tie between Ann and Stevie Nicks..
Grace slick
Every artist in the world could re-do this song and it would NEVER compare to the original--Ann's voice is just perfect!
Bear in mind that the original was by i-Ten; Heart (and other bands) covered this song. But they did the best version of all time for sure.
it’s the same argument i hear with all the Steve Perry like singers. 80s music had everything: Rock, Metal, Country, Rap, Pop, Jazz, instrumental … and the birth of hip hop. now it’s a lot of songs that kinda sound the same
Ann Wilson an Icon, with a voice that has remained relatively unchanged for 40+ years, now That's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame material, tbh😊❤
Respectfully disagree with the "relatively unchanged" assessment - most of her upper register range is gone now, which is to be expected in her early 70s (age 73 in 2024). She can still sing pretty well in lower keys, though.
@@robbernaththat’s why they said “relatively”… her voice is in a GREAT place for being in her mid 70s
Ann's voice is like a fine wine, it just gets better with age. I saw them in Cleavland with Journey and Cheap Trick two years ago. I think Heart owned that show!
Ann is a force of nature!
💯💯💯!!!!
I LOVE Nancy & Ann Wilson because they've got
HEART !!! 😍♥️😍
You are so corny !!!!!!!!!!!!!
👍👍
@@LisaLisa-2023 - 👍🏻
Doesn't get any awesomer than this. Forget those billboards. Ann Wilson is the most amazing female singer of my generation.
Jason Weber uaoooo great u could enjoy heart at that moment. I was only 4 in 1987, but i remember a bit when my siblings listened that song at the radio. So, which were the best songs in usa that year for u jason??
Of ANY generation! period.
I’m a millennial and she destroys any from my generation!
This is not just the queen of power ballads but the king of power ballads 🤟
No one and I mean NO one can match Ann's voice.
Have you heard Jill Gioia's rendition from that TV series Rock Star? It's as good (and to be honest I prefer Jill's voice).
Mariah in her best days
Uhh, there are many.
That's got the be the best live version of that song I've heard. Just like the record...awesome.
listen to the 87 live version, also here on youtube.
Jorge Vidal Wulff amazing , but video quality is quite poor
The best version of this song hands down, NOBODY can top these two singing this! their voices are incredible, both are powerful, and Nancy with those incredible backing vocals!!!
Nancy's harmonies are out of this world!
Agreed....
Absolutely
there are others doing back
@marguskiis7711 no there isnt
There are great female rock singers and then there is Ann Wilson, she is in a class by herself. Absolutely the best ❤❤
One of the best voices in rock n roll history!
Best female vocalist ever❤
One of THE most powerful and beautiful voices in all of rock. Period.
Nancy has such a pretty voice, it goes well with Ann’s voice
When the live version sounds as good and even better than the recording - those were the days, my friends...
Ann always sounds better live !!! 💪❤️🐐
Nothing to do with the time frame..... It's simply the Ann Wilson factor!
Yeah, unlike that fake Roxette singer who never gives justice to her classics
LIVE!! WOW. Ann Wilson sounded so phenomenal I thought it was the studio version. So many have tried to sing ALONE and while they are good, there is only ONE GREAT. 🤩😍👍
Ann singing ALONE is always friggin' awesome. She owns this song. So powerful and still so soft.
She's even better when she sings WITH Nancy. 😊
Dear me, what a fantastic voice! And live! 😮
She tops every single woman singer that I have heard! She is absolutely amazing!
Every time she explodes with that "till now" i fall on my knees, overloaded by that power. And if Ann is the queen Nancy has to be at least the princess, her backing vocals are sweet as honey, i think that she can outclass, easily, a good 60/70% of other lead singers on the planet. That's how good they are
That was the best female vocalist of tat era
Tis song will remains in my heart till i close my eyes.
Magnificent best song ever.
This song showcases Ann's incredible gift.
Now that is the way "Alone" was meant to be played: synthesizers, guitars, drums, Nancy Wilson's high harmonies, and Ann Wilson's soaring vocals!
agreed!
The Wilson sisters are the best female rock band in this planet. Great performance indeed
Ann Wilson is the Queen of Rock music then and now. Period
Hail to the QUEEN OF ROCK :)
I prefer nancy
True
@@youtalkinme Without Annie there is no heart!
Very rarely do bands sound as good in studio as they do live. Outstanding! What a powerful song!
Heart ❤️❤️❤️ I fell instantly in love with em when I first listened to their amazing album Bad Animals back in 1987.. since then many artists and albums went by - but my love for Heart still remains!!!!
What a masterful little solo by Howard Leese !
HIs solos tend to be very musical. The what about love solo is spectacular as well.
Freakin Magnificent 🎸
Saw Heart open for Def Leppard last night at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. After hearing Ann sing, all I can say is...I would do her in a second. She just exuded this confidence and sheer power the entire time she was on stage...and this is coming from a 21 year old who was never around back in the day!
One of the best female voices in Rock!
Both Ann and Nancy were amazing!!!
I love Ann's voice!! I could listen to her forever. NO ONE can sing like her!
Ann and Nancy never cease to amaze me. 😍
Nancy Wilson never got the credit for her singing talent in my opinion. Her backing vocals on this song showcase her amazing vocal talent and range. Without her singing, there is no Heart.
She's also a stone cold fox, so there's that.
She's a great singer .. in her own right . The problem is Ann is so freakishly amazing ! that it gets overshadowed . But i don't think she minds as she seemed happy with backups , and loved playing guitar as much as singing .
Your words ring very true.....and their beat goes on.....
I disagree Ann is heart. Without her magnificent range there would be no heart.
Absolutely fantastic

toriboy25 Mariah in her prime...yeah.
P!nk is also super talented and has more of a rock voice even though she sings pop
Female version of Robert Plant..no one compares or can copy her..
Ann is the best female rock singer there has ever been...lets wake up Hall of Fame...!!!
Ann and Nancy Wilson are Goddesses. Thanks ladies for being you.
Ann Wilson doesn't need to lip synch or use autotune. That's vocal power
She's a powerful singer!
.
It's like many singers nowadays relying on mic echoes, remixing and other tricks and then you have Wilson, whose range is like 44-inch vertical in basketball.
omg i haven't seen this comment in literally the last video, boomers need to be put in camps
I agree. None of today's female vocalists (with the exception of maybe Adele) can come close to Ann Wilson's powerful voice.
Harmony in this song is on another level🥺
What a voice Ann has. Certain singers just have that unmistakable voice such as Steve Perry, Peter Cetera, and naturally Ann Wilson. Looking forward to seeing them live.
Very true, i would add Freddie Mercury and Rob Halford the your line up and you have a complete one of a kind vocal heaven.
I agree.
I believe Ann can shatter glass.
one of the best songs of the 80s hands down. love it when she belts it out.
the best version of this classic - fabulous
The most beatiful voice of the white singers of '80s. Ann Wilson is the best.
Ann still looks as great as she did 27 years ago, and her voice is still as clear and powerful as ever! Keep rockin' us, Ann!!!! :-D
Ann has an incredible voice, so powerful, this is one of the best versions of this song
The acoustic version on The Road Home will make you weep!
Amazing...tears in my eyes...every time I hear this....Love ya Ann Wilson...thankzzz !!
Outstanding !! Brings back memories today !!!
The BEST female Rock-Voice or Voice whatsoever, and she is Doing SOOOOOOOO good now !! Love ya Ann Wilson......Tears in my eyes.....It chills me to the Bone
A superb Voice....well done ...Ann and Nancy wilson thanks for your Songs....
These two ladies are simply amazing. Ann gets the glass shattering power but Nancys brilliant backing vocals binds it all together. The greatest women in rock period !
I GOT INTO HEART WHEN THEY FIRST CAME OUT. OMG ANNE WILSON'S VOICE HAD ME FROM THE START. IM STILL FACINATED BY THEM!!!!!!
WOW Nancy Wilson nailed it on back ups
Neil Tipton I mean she is getting up there in full chest voice. It’s not falsetto.
Check out my TH-cam Channel I wrote a song for NANCY and suscribe
her backup parts are fully belted voice. I mean, goddamn!!!
Shes so underrated just cause her sister sings like a goddess!
She is fkn hot!
As a guitar player in a band I can say this. That lead guitarist has goosebumps every-time that first chorus comes in. It makes it worth all his time.
no one can be better than ann wilson...no one can beat ann wilson's vocals no one!!!!
Ann is the greatest female voice IMO
The most beaultiful song that i ever heard.
LOVIN that hair!!! WANNA BRING IT BACK IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE OZONE ....!!
Great to see that HEART is stilled loved! Keep ROCKIN'!!!
Ann is as always. INCREDIBLE.Sounding better live than on the radio.Know what else? She always had the most SOLID guitarists. They were simply..awesome.Go onto the Heart catalogue of videos, and you'll realise that too.
Nancy is a great singer but Anne's voice is just more amazing hitting those high notes, like no other female in history !!!
October 11, 2019. Greatest female rock vocalists of all time. Thank you Heart
Greatest voice of all time
This is my favorite 80's song!!! OMG! Amazing, Heart!!
Gotta love Ann Wilson and Heart. So much passion in her voice.
Can't. Stop. Listening! Seriously, this is how Alone should have been recorded. It's a POWER BALLAD and needs to be played as such. Or go acoustic and let Ann bring the POWER to the ballad. Either way, my mind has been blown
This song gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Me three!

Drummer, Denny Carmassi shows again why he is the best power ballad, slow metal or whatever you call it, drummer in the world. Power and timing. Awesome!
Completely bonkers out of this world 🤯
So many memories...although I was not even 10 yrs old, I sure remember the happy time and great moments of childhood and family life. Miss you dad!
Same, ha. My ma had this on 8-track then upgraded to cassette.
She had this shit and Metallica.
It's why I listen to this now lol
You're absolutely right, there's only one Ann Wilson,
Best version of this song ever!!!
What do you mean by best version. Heart are the original singers to this song & their versions will always be No. 1.
Definitely the best live version of this song
I’ve been watching this for years. It’s so great.
if you ever need proof that real singers don't use or need auto-tune, here it is. just amazing :D
Great song 🎶 and I put it on my playlist
Best 2 females in rock history. Powerful vocals and talent from both
Great performance! Fantastic lead vocals by Ann and great backing vocals by Nancy.
Definitely one of the best female vocalist of all time.
Just watched the live 2003 version! they look a bit different, but don't we all, but the sound!!! unbelievable!!!!
and now we are at the end of 2008!!!
80's CLASSIC
Yep, there are very few singers who can sound just as good live as on their records but Ann's one of them. She's the best.
Beautiful!!!
Awesome-just listen-haunting, wild, passionate and for us This is the best. Such talent over the years.
I love it❤
You might think you've heard a good cover of this song....then you listen to ann Wilson sing it and it's like "oh yeah".
Nancy rocks! all together...perfection!
Man.. To do so well on a live version. Not many could or can or will
Back When Pop-Rock was actually listenable. Heart = Pure Class = Greatest Female Fronted Band of All Time
I have just listened to a live performance done this year and Ann Wilson's voice is till tip top, in fact it was booooootiful!! X
What a voice.....
Боже! Яка вона дивовижна! Прекрасна! Вона дуже потужна
PERFECT INTERPRETATION
Love this song
One of the best songs ever in music history.
