- Carving is hard, dusty and sometimes things don't turn out the way you want them. Mistakes are always happening, its what you learn from them that counts in the end.

old men/wood spirits do not symmetrical eyes; it gives the carving additional character. love it ❤🔥❤🔥
Cheers Kris. Have a great Day
Super 👍👏✌️
Thank you 👍
Love the grain it does the carving lots of justice! Wow!
You really are an amazing carver. You have so much knowledge to give. I'm soaking it in and will go back to reinforce when I carve specific projects. I think the first will be a Viking. Thankyou
yeah Vikings are fun to carve - Loved doing this berserker th-cam.com/video/ClsTcRe5Cws/w-d-xo.html
I love how this turned out. Love that face

Thank you John 😊
Wow brilliant you are a very talented artist
Thanks, John!
@@MattCarves I just started a few weeks ago but loving trying to learn a new skill
That was a great wood spirit... It was very different. You teach us a lot, especially with your detailed information on the burrs you use as you carve.. That is very appreciated.and very useful for beginner (and seasoned) wood carvers. Keep it up!... Thanks and best wishes.
Thank you Jay C. Have a great day 👍
Wow, your faces are getting better. Those bits look like a lot of fun. 👍👍👍
Cheers Mark. Been doing a few classes on portrait sculpture with clay.
Wish I made mistakes like you dude.
Cheers
Brilliant
Cheers
He turned out pretty good, lovely grain!
Cheers Claire, yeah it is a nice grain I might make a bowl out of the other peices. Hows the dragon coming along?
He's on hold, i'm in the UK for 3 weeks, far from my tools, think i'll go stir crazy! 🥴
The eyes look good, but yes, now I want to see one with a scar through the eye like Odin 🤣 Great work Matt 😍
Cheers Julie E. 👍
Looks great Matt 👍
Outstanding
Cheers Dean 👍
Great work my friend!
looks good, BUT tired of adjusting the volume when the music is 5X as loud as your talking
Cheers for that feedback. Will check out my volume levels.
Nice wood spirit - love how it turned out! Are you carving green wood or did you give that some time to air dry? Just curious about dry times. I've got some cherry that I recently cut down and want to eventually power carve some on it.
ItI was down for about 1 year, outside cut to that length. It was pretty dry. Our climate is pretty dry with low humidity.
@@MattCarves Sounds good! This cherry I have has been sitting in the garage for over a year. Just bought a Strong 201 micro motor a few months ago and want to give it a go.
Probably only one way to find out - Give it a go. Happy Carving
👍
Maravilha , sonho da minha vida é fazer trabalhos como estes. 😊❤
Thank you. All it takes is a lot of practice. Have a great day.
Wow! Great work! I’ve got a question. Does that only work with dry wood or can it be fresh cut, too? Thanks :)
Yeah fresh/green wood can be carved, but it tends to clog up your burrs as it's more stringy.
Thanks!
Hi. What kind of paint did you use for the white of the eyes?
was just a water based art paint. Antque white
@@MattCarves thanks Matt.
