There were a few comments in the video, that while you probably didn’t mean anything by it, they came off wrong, .i.e poor man’s, low dollar, low budget, little setup. Also referring to his equipment as being old school or a blast from the past also seemed like a swipe.Last thing that kind stood out was referring to it as a starter tank, the person could of mentioned that in their email, I don’t know, but referring to someone tank as a starter tank could be insulting, if it’s not.

Thats an oldschool wVe tank. Those were very expensive back in the late 80s-early 90s.
Must be before your time if you have never seen them. Petland used to sell those, probably 3k for the tank stand and canopy . They had the bubble tanks too. Like what you see at some aquariums where theres a big acrylic bowl protuding from the tank presumably so fish can swim out into the room lol

I think filtration is one of the things people put to much into. I know people with really nice sumps with all the newest equipment and I know others that have a sump with nothing in it but a heater and they dont even do water changes and both have amazing reefs. I feel that consistency is far more important then the equipment. Keep things within reason and keep it stable and the animals will adapt to it.

Xenia isn’t THAT bad. Personally I love the look of it and you can frag it and sell it so I think it’s a great coral.

Aw why do u hate Damsel fish? Granted I got an established reef tank from someone else the damsel fish that came with it was super polite. My female clown fish is more aggressive than the damsel fish is lol. She even fights me when I mess with things. A real biter!!

Reef tank & "on a budget" doesn't go hand in hand that well.
Either way you'll be well in over a few thousand dollars even with lower grade equipment having to replace crap way sooner etc.
On a budget = freshwater in my opinion.
