    Just done this service but had a nightmare trying to get the oil filter off !! Had to resort to old school method and stuck screwdriver through it ?? Ehh no going back from there. Managed to then lever a straight bar onto block and onto screwdriver which got it moving !! What a relief !!

    Great video.. Thanks. Good step by step guide and saved me from thinking I had to buy an oil cup filter socket and torque wrench. Cheers.

    Have you ever checked the level of your break fluid it's in a very awkward place I don't know why Ford did this

      It is a pain but it's not too bad to get the black plastic cover off.

      @@MotoringEvents seriously. Man after my own heart in how to show how to do things. Give the cameraman a raise 😂. Do you still have the focus. My daily is now a 1.8 zetec S 3 door 2010. Service is due and the brakes so this weekend ...

      Thats my second, the pervious was a 1.6 which was a bit sluggish for a relatively heavy car. Still they are great value easy to work on and quite reliable.

      Have you had the bonnet lock problem yet? Both of mine have.

      @@MotoringEvents no. I have grease and lubed the mechanism as soon as I bought it.

    nice tutorial thank you.question: if i change oil in my Ford focus mk2.5 is it important that the car is level for the old oil to drain completely out or is it ok if the front of the car is a bit higher?im asking because i would lift the front end to do the maintenance.

    • @MotoringEvents
      @MotoringEvents  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for watching. I always drain the car with the front on the ramps, so I believe it is ok.

    You make great and helpful videos! Did you notice any improvement of milage and engine noise after the service?

    Hi, thanks for the very informative video. I'm not sure I understood exactly how you managed to get the spark plug socket out after installing the new plugs. I've read a lot of cases that the washer stayed on the plug when the socket was pulled and would definitely need to avoid this when I replace my plugs...

    • @MotoringEvents
      @MotoringEvents  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for watching, I have not experienced that problem, maybe it's an issue with cheap sparkplug sockets. It would be fiddly to get the washer if it did fall off maybe long nose pliers would do the trick. But like I said I've never experienced the issue.

    How tight
    - sump drain plugs : 1 hand tight +1/8 to 1/4 turn
    - oil filters : 1 hand tight

    Is 5w 20 ok to use in these i have a 1.4 08, I bought a servicing kit and the oil they gave me was 5w 20. I always thought it should be 5w 30

      there isn't one on the mark 2 petrols. Fuel is filtered through a strainer on the fuel pump. It's a non serviceable part unless you remove the tank and change the pump.

    What’s the gap size for the spark plugs

    • @MotoringEvents
      @MotoringEvents  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, if the engine is running well i don't worry about it. I believe to some extent they are pre-gapped. Maybe worth googling for more opinions.

    • @l3138
      @l3138 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1.3mm afaik. Some come with the right gap, others need adjustment
