Way to go man! It purrs and I didn’t yell at the screen once! Sounds really good, nice low idle too. A total classic engine.

I'll be honest, I was shitting nickles. Everything that could go wrong was going wrong in my head. When it first barked I knew I was close. Then it ran a little bit. Then I got my head out of my rear end, eliminated the electric pump and lifted the fuel tank so it could actually draw fuel. Once it was running, my head was still going a mile a minute. I didn't slow down to take in that sweet sound. I was just happy and really missing my Father and watching the gauges. It went really well. Temp and oil pressure were both good. It would have lit off right away if I'd have had the fuel supply done properly. These engines are iconic. Now I guess I have to be a custodian. There are worse problems to have. I've got another possibly viable block and enough parts to build another engine minus the heads.

Hey!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't get a notification so thanks for sending the link Brother! I bet you're happier than the only male rabbit in the county! She sounds So Good! Now it needs an old Rat Rod to tuck it into. Super happy for you Brother. This has been a lot of hard work and long days to get it to this point. Cheers! Zip~

I'm really happy to say the least! You gave me advice and helped me keep my sanity during this build. I wanted to make sure you saw it! It holds temp and oil pressure and I'm in love with that sound! I have a line on a transmission, friction plate and driveshaft. I'm going to graft it to a 1967 IH Scout 800 chassis. VW Beetle body on top. If I ever find a Model A or a shoebox worth a damn, I don't have to feel committed to the Scout.

8BA From ‘49 thru ‘51 - EAB was ‘52 and ‘53 and that was the last one. The really good Flatty was the 59AB made thru 1948

How's she goin'? I just stopped by your channel Looking over the video titles I can see you have been working on this project for a while and then to see your text messages on the screen, I can see and understand why this is so important to you. I have to say, that is a sound you can get used to and I miss hearing that on todays cars. That deep throated rumble is what it's all about!!! Congrats and getting the engine going and on your journey to get here!!! Take care!!!

I don't know why the bug bit all the sudden but I got bit hard. I'd never heard that sound in person. It's really sweet! Yep it's sure been a long strange trip. These are a lot different than a more modern V8. After I got my head around the tricks it was really great to work on.

@@heliarche I'm old enough to remember the flat head V8's and that rich rumble they would make. No need for special exhaust to make the engine sound good, it just sounded great with stock mufflers.
