      The biggest hurdle is the central government in this Project. Center has majority in LS and RS. All civil services are of Central cadre..They can pass a presidential order and acquire land by force overriding the then Congress land acquisition bill which gives teeth to the farmers to get stay if their consent is overridden. The flip side is they might loose election across the country so they have put it across to Maharashtra..BTW the land in Gujarat is barren land and is unfit for agriculture and far far less expensive than an acre of land in Maharashtra which is fertile land.

    I am from Vapi, here bullet train project is going consistently fast. I personally have visited the place many times 😃

      Yes. Vapi is the only location where track construction is at a fast pace. Sabarmati has the terminal building nearing completion. Bandra (BKC) terminal building and Thane Station have picked up pace. Hope Gujarat section is completed at an early date and Bullet Train can run between Vapi and Ahmedabad.

Abhi tk Kolkata Metro 2 ka sirf Salt Lake Sector V se Salt Lake Stadium tk ka hi line operational hua hai woh bhi 2020 mai. Abhi tk dusra phase ka kaam complete tk nai hua hai. It seems it will never be completed ever.

    This project is facing huge delays.
    Land acqustion, rolling stock, quality steel production upto the required specs etc.

      except for land acquisition there are no problems. rolling stock are being imported from Japan 6 are planned to be assembled in India. Rails are made by IRCON with JRTC's help and they probably will import steel from JP

    I am from a state which is not yet getting the bullet train. I will never forgive Maharashtra people if they vote for Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress again. Whether my state gets bullet train or not depends on this project which Maharashtra government is delaying intentionally. There are more bullet train routes planned. If this project succeeds just like Delhi Metro other cities will also get bullet train sooner.

    Current Maharashtra government focusing on Mumbai to Hyderabad bullet train. I don't know who the hell want to go to Hyderabad via bullet train. Basically many parties like shiv sena and MNS from Maharashtra created caste base politics which is marathi against gujratis. They are creating false narrative that modi taking all the businesses to the gujrat from Maharashtra. And since shiv senas own politics are based on maratha vote they are doing everything possible to either delayed or cancelled the project which were planned by fadanvis government.
    Right now 888+ projects worth 3.5 lakh crore are being delayed in Maharashtra and most of them are funded by Japan. Even Japanese minister criticize very first time on television that many projects are being delayed and its creating bad impression.
    And here Maharashtra government is busy in collecting 100 cr per month extortion money.
    Even many MNS goons are thrashing non marathi businessman because of payments are being delayed due to current pandemic situation. I am 💯 sure if this goes for long time mumbai will be no longer financial capital of a country.

      Current Maharashtra govt does not mean all Marathi people. Maharashtra voted for BJP-Sena alliance and Devendra Fadnavis in 2019. Shivsena later bypassed people's mandate and formed government with NCP-Congress.

    We actually need to reform the areas surrounding this project, it should be like a green city. If foreigners visit here they would travel through this train , so we need a clean environment. Unfortunately poverty is a still a big deal, lot of slums .

      For any distance more than approximately 800km, HSR is not the recommended option.
      The next routes that are needed are Bengaluru-Chennai-Hyderabad-Bengaluru. Trust me, this a very potent Infra Triangle. This needs to be connected with Mumbai-Bengaluru and Mumbai-Hyderabad. In future this network can be further connected with Kolkata and Indore and Lucknow.

    I think it's going to be a White elephant project.. Instead of investing 100000 crores for 500kms in this project, it would be much much beneficial if they would have invested the same amount on Golden Quadrilateral Rail routes.. This investment would have given more than 200kms speed networks for more than 5000kms..It's literally a good opportunity missed..
    Instead they should have been developed the Mumbai & Ahmadabad airports by good linking with metro rail systems..
    Give these 100000 crores to Nitin Gadkari..He will transform India like European countries.

I am pretty sure that, next generation bullet train will be, much better than this , if next generation is not important, then Japan wouldn't have think of building it . now look at china, maglev used by china is already really, efficient and fast . I really wish that India develop their own technology, instead of depending on others or using old technology . I mean china is always 10 years, ahead of India in terms of technology . if India continue like this, then India will never catch up with , china . we always make fun of china, yet they reached the level, we could never match

    The biggest hurdle in this project is this illegitimate MVA sarkar. Three parties contested separately and then to keep the single largest party out of power, decided to come together. Maharashtra would have developed so much in these five years with same parties at both state and center. Even the former CM was good in these infra projects. Hope this government will fall soon. The cost of these five years will be quite heavy for Maharashtra. Karnataka Gujarat and Tamil Nadu are moving ahead at a very fast pace.

      This route will be extended to Delhi in the next phase. So it will become the Delhi-Mumbai corridor. It makes all the sense to connect Delhi-Mumbai with a high-speed train corridor.

    Main reason for China's hegemony in exports is geological position of their main states & they are not a democracy.
    Almost every person in China lives near / in South China. Hence transportation time is very less. And that's challenge for all the countries which wants to compete with China.
    You just can't set up Expressways & bullet trains in 2-3 years but surely can in some more years & when we will be done with setting that transportation, companies will be shifting to India because they all know that the threat China offers to world peace. You trust Russia & should never trust China. If we can setup more Trains & expressways to ports & can make our country clean, we gonna succeed..
    Only drawback that I see with China is, they are market which can copy anything & also, their relations with their neighbouring countries & hopefully The Birth of Corona was start of China's falls ( not immediate but with time).

    Tamil Nadu, Karnataka or Telengana government would have finished this project by now!! In future when government decides on such prestige projects, they should allot it to progress friendly states. Then they can extend it to states where government take politics in presidence over progress.

      Things come into picture only when the actual execution of the project starts. None one can foresee the government in power or their future attitude towards a project. Gujarat and Maharashtra are both highly industrialized and investment friendly states but attitude of ruling party towards this project in MH changed with their forming of govt with non BJP coalition.
