    If you didn’t have a training partner to add the force, would the same exercise work with leaning something heavy against yourself work the same? For example you could tip a chair up on two legs and let rest on your arm so you could feel the weight resting on your body. Excellent video btw.

      Thanks for the thoughtful notes Daniel. You are absolutely right. Resistance training is one of the most imperative adjuncts to a deep, safe, and powerful practice. Cable machines can work quite well...
      Good to check in with a decent teacher in person or via online video who can confirm the quality you are seeking is president. Otherwise it is likely to be contraction based training.
