I find that driving at 100km/h compared to 120km/h on longer journeys saves me a charging stop. The few minutes you save by flogging it is very quickly eaten up 😂😂
Twice at public chargers using tap to pay and stop my e208 does not stop charging and I have had to phone the charger help line for them to stop it. Any answers appreciated.
I had the heater on while charging first thing in the morning, then turned it off when I left. The drop in temperature inside the car was so gradual I didn’t really notice. I just used the heater when on the chargers. I was quite comfortable for most of the journey.
good review i currently drive a kia ev6 but i intend to down size in the next year or so with a dodgy hip I'm thinking of the niro or the e2008 so hopefully you'll get around to reviewing those in the near future. regarding the queuing to charge if there was a black board where you have to enter your car reg on arrival would it bring some order. i don't like the exmas music either my grandkids call me the grinch
My partner is looking at the e 208 for her commuter car. Round journey of 80miles on duel carriageways 3 days a week. How do you think the e208 will hold up in winter?
Looks like a very smooth and comfortable ride! Would you recommend it as my first EV? Will mostly be used for work commutes (20 km each way), rarely much longer distances. Will be replacing a 2015 Yaris Hybrid.
@@chargeelectric9905 Thank you! I can get a practically new 2023 GT model for 27 800-ish USD right now, which is a steal around here. So I might just pull the trigger.
i am looking at the e 208 for my 70mi commute on highway about 5 times a month...... how do you think the car will handle the range on highway at 70mph
I travel from Cornwall to Cardiff in a 208. The cost varies dramatically according to where you charge... I mainly charge at home with a top up and destination charge...the home charge is under a fiver but motorway charging without any discounts can be more than petrol. Overall it is cheaper than petrol or diesel. When home charging it is incredibly cheap.
@Chappers.Gaming it does depend... if you have access to a slower charger which you could use.. or their are deals for regular users of a charger. Simple maths... assume 4 miles per kw/h then your charge costs will give you the cost per mile. As per fossil fuel this will vary by car/conditions but gives you an idea.
Enjoyed the video and learned a lot. thank you.

The thing is how long does this trip take over an ice car? Like I understand its charging times that put you behind ECT but curious
It’s about 40 minutes longer than an ICE. I’ve just done a video of doing the same route in a hybrid. Check it out.
wheel in its lowest position fully extended tends to cause friction burns on the old wedding tackle!

If you unlock the car, that can sometimes interrupt the charge and unlock the cable.
Any heat on in the car? Looks a bit cold! Thanks for the range test though; really useful!

Winter with the heater on, on my personal commute, I get 160 miles. Summer same commute, 200 miles.

Yes, it’s a great starter EV. Great commuting car, and it will also do longer journeys.

Dam I want one but can't charge from home 😭 dose this mean I'll be paying more for fuel ( electric ) 😢

I suspect 'charger rage' will become more common place as more people buy electric and the charging network increases at a rate that fails to keep up.

Watch this to see how good the network can be.
I phoned up the wife and told her about the McMuffin. She was shocked and disgusted about your lifestyle choices ;)
So it was you! 😆
