    My energy tariff at home is 25p a kilowatt. How how do Instavolt get 75 pence and they’re not even on a motorway? Yes they have to turn a profit and they have costs but this seems excessive. If this was the petrol companies there’d be an enquiry

    A better result than expected. About 3.4-3.5 miles/kwh overall on a less windy day? About 160 miles max range. Which is 2 hours+ of driving plus a small buffer and time for a break anyway. The upgraded version coming out this year is supposed to be more economical due to a heatpump keeping the battery at the optimum temperature.

    So with aerodynamics and temperatures that isn’t bad. MPV version of that is about the same. I could do with bigger battery than have on my e up. Probably Stellantis Group car.

    It actually does tell you when you’re using less than the max i-Pedal setting. On the dash, in the bottom of the right-hand dial, there’s a little tick mark that lets you know the setting, up to the maximum (which is i-pedal). I just purchased the EV model and I love it!

      None of these electric cars have the range they claim. I know ppl who own ev cars and a lot of them are frustrated with the lies they were told. During winter a lot of the folks I know at work who own ev, told me they don’t even get anywhere near 210km. The heating and AC kills the battery and other thing’s amongst just those two. They’re a big waste of money just to say you own a cool electric car, and that you “care” about the environment. When they figure out their battery issues and distance I’ll give a try, but no way am I paying thousands for a car that cant even give me at least 800km. Imagine having to stop several times to charge a car. Smh

    KIa have a software stop on rapid charging; if you wanted that extra 3%, you have to unplug and replug; it used to be about 84%, but they upped it to 97% sometime in the last 18 months; and it seems to be common across a range of Kia and Hyundai EVs, as my 2016 Soul's limit is now 97%. It does also vary on the SOC when you started, if the battery has above a certain %, it wont stop (I forget exactly what that % is) I did a 270+ mile trip to Manchester and back, a couple of weeks ago, and averaged 5.1 miles/KWh; cruising at 60-65mph in heavy traffic; obviously, with a ~92 mile original range, I had to charge 3 times; but one was a destination charger, so didnt cost me any time; the other two took 15 & 20 minutes, charging to 80%; the 20 minutes was via a fairly old BP Pulse charger that gives a max of 50KW, but only seemed to be giving 45 ish. I'm not sure about the new Soul, but on my old 2016 model, it doesnt matter if you only choose DC chargers on the KIA satnav - it will display both - and there is no way to filter out private chargers, or sort Rapid from Fast or Slow chargers - which is UTTERLY STUPID.

      It does seem a bit low. But a lot will depend on heat setting and journey type. I’m currently running an e-208, and this winter running with climate set to 21 degrees C, I’m averaging 3.3 mi/kwh. But my daily journey type could be very different to yours.

    Halfway mark and your average speed is 78 ish kph. Hardly any good for a road trip that you’d be wanting an average of 100 kph. So, not a real test. For any ICE, I’d be wanting to get to my destination as quickly as legal whilst keeping the fuel economy low and often beating the car makers official lowest average for litres per hundred kilometres.

    • @chargeelectric9905
      @chargeelectric9905 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was driving to the speed limits where ever I could. It was a real test of a route I used to do when I was self employed. I know everyone drives different routes as everyone leads different lives and lives in different areas. It was a real test of that route on that particular day.

    • @marcusgeorge1825
      @marcusgeorge1825 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@chargeelectric9905 Yes I understand this part as you made it clear from the beginning. All I was thinking about was a different, more realistic scenario. As you mentioned it was a route that you hadn’t taken in over a decade. This part alone made it unrealistic. Something better would be a route you do several times a year as from a buyers perspective this provides real value as we will all be making the transition to a non ICE vehicle at some stage in the near future. For the Australian market the prediction is by 2025 all new cars sold will be 50% electric and our charging network is well behind where it needs to be to cope with this prediction. Hence the reason for my original comment. A great video that I enjoyed watching just the same as an owner of a 23 Kia EV6 GT. 👍😎🇦🇺
