That was a good race, I never teen all of the Lost Levels play through like that, it was back and forth for a long time and there were a few drops that were good comebacks, I don't have any money to contribute but that was a good run👍🏼
NES video output is actually really weird and very rarely are two video captures the same Emulators avoid this by just all picking the same interpretation method for the video signal
Short answer is that the NES and Famicom do not have a universal color palette, it's decided by the display. It would seem that the two runners are not playing the game on the same kind of display. One of the challenges with emulating NES games is actually just deciding what kind of palette to go with, haha.
They're not playing Glitchless category, they're doing warpless category and what it means that you can't warp through the worlds, you can warp inside the level though.
AGDQ 2024 is live right now! Tune in to watch at www.twitch.tv/gamesdonequick
It’s so good to see Kosmic at AGDQ again. He is super talented but so humble and chill. I love that guy’s play.
Well done. Can't believe how many times that never happened before!
Too true!
Would you say its never happened that many times before?
24:35 they were seconds apart but the little toad dance thing ended up being synced
it might be on a framerule thats why
idk tho
The competitiveness between one another is so palpable behind their smiles. Weldone to both(:
@20:39, Kosmic has a video explaining how these warps work. 😉
This is one of my favorites to watch because even after all the years of practice it's quite possible to game over and dump a run.
I have never seen stages 9-D before, this was a trip. Nice run!
Great run! Never thought this game would be as hard as kaizo
It feels like it's the first kaizo mario game XD
Kaizo is worse
Meanwhile, on Mars, an unexplained shipment of hammers arrives just in time for the gates of Hell to open.
loved it when the crowd started going "Wheeeeee~!" on the spring hops XD
Loved the run - some really great energy here in the crowd and on the couch!
wow, that run is amazing

that bidding war between Elden ring and sekiro was pretty hype
34:05 "This is one of the longest stages of the run" *beats it in less than 10 seconds*
that's the joke
You know, as someone who's finished lost levels a few times... are there any levels that we can agree that are actually... GOOD? Lol
lmao good question
All of them.
the first few levels you could definitely say are good
Epic
A fun race! Nice job peeps!
Nice to have met you both at AGDQ! And that race was pretty tight.
Wait why are the colours different in the two screens?
NES video output is actually really weird and very rarely are two video captures the same

I think they r playing diff versions like ntsc vs pal

Different models of NES display different colours, it can completely change the mood of the game depending on manufacturer and region.
idk maybe palette?
You can tell they're playing the NTSC version because the colors are so different. Also, PAL is slower.
Lost levels was only released in japan on famicom so yeah it's NTSC
Yeah but European kettles boil faster 😉
Banger run.
Yeaaahhhhh kosmic
nice job, this game is a little difficult
Are the pipe skips and clips intended or are they glitches?
