I started shaving at 14, stopped shaving at 16 and have been grooming my beard to differing degrees ever since. I am going to be 50 in March. Most of the time I have kept my beard around a 1/2" in length with upper checks and neck shaved. In the winter l let it all grow for a month or two or until I feel the need to start grooming again. The only problem with this is re-establishing jaw and cheek lines. In the last 33 years I have heard every reason under the sun for shaving it off. Now a days I politely listen, then say , thank you and do my best to change the subject.

I was hit pretty hard with the wog gen and started growing facial hair when I was around 12. Once I got to 16 it was almost impossible to shave every day. By the end of the day I'd need to shave again. I was bullied pretty badly and called a terrorists not just from students but a few teachers. It didn't help that I was on and still am on medication that had a side effect of growth of hair on my nose brow and earlobes. So instead of fighting it I used it to my advantage to draw people's attention away from all of the ugly (which I wax and pluck) and draw towards the beard. Every time I leave the house, I without a doubt get compliments about my beard from men and women. I keep it maintained through trimming, washing, balms and oils.

10:34 I think your eyebrows are feeling lonely. You should grow them down and grow the beard up until they connect.
If that creates a vision problem, you could try relocating your eyes to the top of your head. That would also solve the baldness problem.

my father always donned a fullbeard, so I kinda am biased and do the same since I was 22 ~, so about 7y now (clean shaven fora month every other year or less). I am currently letting it really grow, at least the chin portion of it because I am curios to see what happens.
Lazyness might be a part for many, but with electic shavers and stuff, it isn't really that tedious anymore to get the clean shave look daily (imo). a fullbeard is decently easy with a good electric trimmer as well. if you go beyond 15mm (25mm depending on what you have) it really get interesting and I myself just get to know how hard it is to get both a longer beard and a prim and proper look of it :D

I used to think that I look like a toddler when I shave, but some people claim that it is all in my head. I think I just like the change. I had a beard for years, then shaved it all down this summer, and I looked good. Now the fall is here, it's cold, and the beard follows my mood. I think it's a part of how I feel, so now that I'm grumpy since summer is gone and the cold weather is here, I grow beard to hide away for the winter.
Not sure if any of this made sense though. I am growing a santa beard, maybe, or I'll shave tomorrow, who knows.

I'm a woman with a beard, and I love it. I'm also lesbian, but I do like beards on others too. I was born female, but I can grow a beard due to wonky hormone levels, basically. The main reasons I choose to keep a beard instead of shaving it off basically boil down to comfort. I like how it feels to stroke (which is a soothing activity to do) and not having to deal with nasty razor burns and nicks. I used to consider getting rid of it altogether, like permanently, but then I realised I didn't want it gone forever. So then I figured why not grow it out then, if I wanna keep it so badly? And turns out I like it. I like caring for it, with washing, balms, oils, trimming, etc, and wearing makeup alongside it as well. I do get a lot of stares and a lot of people mistake me for a man, but I have more important things to worry about than random people's personal opinions of my looks. My parents hate it and I can feel that they're ashamed of me because of it, but I can't make such choices based on their opinions either. My girlfriend loves my beard though, and she's also a lesbian. Beards are obviously more common on men, and I do consider myself an exception to that general rule. It does make me feel less feminine, but not not less of a woman.
