Back then there were better less known options that gave you more performance for the dollar back then and there still is now. I still never go out of my way for one or really want one specifically but Ive gotten a few for cheap here and there rebuilt and sold them. Nothing overly special about anything anyone has put out in quite a long time so getting overly attached to any brand just seems pretty foolish to me. At the end of the day its your money and if you dont mind getting fucked over a bit on how you spend it more power to you. Though its pretty weird you think everyone else should like doing the same.
Ive built many boxes, and many boxes working for Patrick. ITS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!! And they came out just fine. Proper adhesives, bracing etc, properly tuned enclosure and port(s) using software design and analysis. Again, it ain't rocket science!

I like hearing your insights on these subwoofer and boxes. You did a video on the recoil shallow mount and you said you liked the Rockford t1s2. I would like to hear more about it as i bought one, sealed off my trunk from the inside of the car and installed it into the rear deck. It sounds amazing. I have 2-12” focal flax subs that im also somewhat impressed with but the one shallow mount rockford 10 is almost as loud as the 2 focals. Its extremely impressive.
Well the T1 slim are very expensive and I'm sure it's a good driver I just don't think it's a good value. I would suggest replacing it with a Skar EVL 12 Even the DDX would be on par or better

I heard many JL systems even the 13.7 w7 for some reason I'm just not a fan of it. It sounds a little off. I've had and tried it. Not a fan. But then I jumped to dd audio. Its on a different level. Clean sound and able to hit 140db with a single 9510L .

i just found this channel man id love to spend one day in that shop with aLL those sub parts . i bought a few items from ebay and built my own sub with the parts. its functional but ugly and not finished . fun stuff to learn . many moons ago i stumbled upon adire audio and the brahma subs always wanted one . but then they were pricey. so i bought a blueprint 1203 sub then i got into his resonent enginerring subs / bought an sx12 its still alive today . none of my amps could kill it. on the hater side of things i watch mb often i can rarely understand all of what he says the mumbling is there for sure maybe its an atlanta lingo. i enjoy his videos for the most part as i too usually like to or have to run smaller subs due to having a single cab f150. ironically went from a 6.5 inch skar to a life after bass built enclosure and a jl audio 12tw3 running on an old prime fosgate R500X1D from many years ago . still bumping fine . I use to frequent shokker audios forum page and noticed a post about how stupid those adire brahma subs were with the super thick top plate . lots of hate on the page for it except for the folks that owned them. they all seemed to love them . needless to say I invited adire audio to come and chime in on why they made such a large top plate motor structure. it went bonkers hundreds of comments fun reading and by the end of it mostly all handshakes and commonalities between both sides . fun stuff . I had that same Boston sub mine had the silver Boston center cap with the fuse to change polarity sounded pretty damn good in a sealed box & 200w Rockford mono block. had a polk on a cheap walmart dual mono block that surprised me $60 on the amp and think the sub was on sale for the all black polk sub. learned a lesson never judge an amp by it's name and where you got it that was a cheap system for my daily driver work car.
I will say it's overpriced but run what you want to run. Is there better value? Absolutely and better sq and spl. People act like JL is end all be all. White t shirt at Walmart $5, same shirt w a small Nike swoosh $30. Is it better? Hmmm
I thought the 8W7 came later? MBE Keeps saying "2002" & "since 2002" I thought the 13 and 8 came later. In all honesty the W7's are great subs I personally prefer W6's but yes they are expensive.
The 10, 12, and 13.5 W7's were all released in 2001, and the 8 W7 was released in 2003. The AE "Anniversary Edition" W7's were release in 2011 for the 10th anniversary of the W7.

Hey man I’m new to your channel. So it’s pointless to pay for expensive subwoofers? I’m genuinely curious. I remember MBE made a video shitting on full bridge amps and got a bunch of backlash by being proved wrong by barevids. I’m currently running a taramps 1200 md on a Skar loaded enclosure and it sound fine tbh. Very peaky around 40 hz but I’m upgrading to a sundown SA 10. I ordered an MBE enclosure for it and I hope I’m not disappointed.
It'll just be an oversized enclosure. It'll be loud and boomy which is what most young men like. Start by reading the loudspeaker cookbook by Vance Dickinson there's a free link to it in my description of each video there's so much free information out there I'm always surprised when people have these dumb brand related bias when there's free information showing that the brands are lying to you. MB Enclosures knows that he has nothing else to sell you because his skill set is very narrow. I do feel bad for him that he doesn't have anything else but he's also spouting a bunch of dumb information and he's very cocky about it and so it's important to rain in the bad information not necessarily him but because he's the mouthpiece he has to go with it.
Thanks I always tend to research stuff before I start in believing it. I feel I might like the enclosure then since I listen to hip hop and spanish music: Reggaeton and modern corridos. I always had a feeling that bigger brands where just a status thing, just like any other market: clothes, headphones, etc. I feel that in every market there is the dirt cheap stuff that kinda sucks, the good stuff at a reasonable price, and the overpriced stuff that may be good or better; but the price to what you gain is not worth it. That is preference it does take time and experience with each sub that you purchase some better better than others. It just takes time and understanding the sense structure as well as the art of the subwoofer
Sundown just realized a new 8 inch sub i want to say there 1500w rms per sub with either a 3 stack or quad stack magnet and 3in coil if i remember right. They were pertty pricey for a 8 in sub that i do remember. 💯👍✌️
Almost all subwoofers are made in China you put a brand name on it and charge more ive got a china made 15 and ive been beating the hell of it for 2 years with 2000watts clean power try that with jl and you will smoke the coil over priced junk

A friend introduced me to Boston Acoustics pro 6.5 back in 2002 ❤ me my cousin and like two of my friends ended up buying sets.
Again good stuff just kind of expensive when it came out
I had that same Boston sub mine had the silver Boston center cap with the fuse to change polarity sounded pretty damn good in a sealed box & 200w Rockford mono block. had a polk on a cheap walmart dual mono block that surprised me $60 on the amp and think the sub was on sale for the all black polk sub. learned a lesson never judge an amp by it's name and where you got it that was a cheap system for my daily driver work car.

I thought the 8W7 came later? MBE Keeps saying "2002" & "since 2002" I thought the 13 and 8 came later. In all honesty the W7's are great subs I personally prefer W6's but yes they are expensive.
12w7 was the first one released
The 10, 12, and 13.5 W7's were all released in 2001, and the 8 W7 was released in 2003. The AE "Anniversary Edition" W7's were release in 2011 for the 10th anniversary of the W7.

I used Radiata Pine or regular pine. Not as heavy as MDF and I can coat with anything with no worries.

It's not about flaming over brands, it's about a lot of misleading information about brands, features, specs, etc. Lots of companies, and also content influencers on youtube, tout the "wares" they are pushing as the best. Ive ran everything from urban Audio and flea market amps when i was a kid thats all i could afford.. now i run dd subs and a new us amp , both of which im being told i " overpaid" .. well guess what its MY MONEY! Hey man I’m new to your channel. So it’s pointless to pay for expensive subwoofers? I’m genuinely curious. I remember MBE made a video shitting on full bridge amps and got a bunch of backlash by being proved wrong by barevids. I’m currently running a taramps 1200 md on a Skar loaded enclosure and it sound fine tbh. Very peaky around 40 hz but I’m upgrading to a sundown SA 10. I ordered an MBE enclosure for it and I hope I’m not disappointed.
It'll just be an oversized enclosure. It'll be loud and boomy which is what most young men like. Start by reading the loudspeaker cookbook by Vance Dickinson there's a free link to it in my description of each video there's so much free information out there I'm always surprised when people have these dumb brand related bias when there's free information showing that the brands are lying to you. MB Enclosures knows that he has nothing else to sell you because his skill set is very narrow. I do feel bad for him that he doesn't have anything else but he's also spouting a bunch of dumb information and he's very cocky about it and so it's important to rain in the bad information not necessarily him but because he's the mouthpiece he has to go with it.
Thanks I always tend to research stuff before I start in believing it. I feel I might like the enclosure then since I listen to hip hop and spanish music: Reggaeton and modern corridos. I always had a feeling that bigger brands where just a status thing, just like any other market: clothes, headphones, etc. I feel that in every market there is the dirt cheap stuff that kinda sucks, the good stuff at a reasonable price, and the overpriced stuff that may be good or better; but the price to what you gain is not worth it. I’ll definitely check out that article though. Thanks for the info man.
That is preference it does take time and experience with each sub that you purchase some better better than others. It just takes time and understanding the sense structure as well as the art of the subwoofer

Sundown just realized a new 8 inch sub i want to say there 1500w rms per sub with either a 3 stack or quad stack magnet and 3in coil if i remember right. They were pertty pricey for a 8 in sub that i do remember. 💯👍✌️

Almost all subwoofers are made in China you put a brand name on it and charge more ive got a china made 15 and ive been beating the hell of it for 2 years with 2000watts clean power try that with jl and you will smoke the coil over priced junk

Well anytime MB said snything about a sub eing the best syb he always said in his opinion but he also mostly back up what he says and even tje stuff this guy is showing can be biased and if not so what. This community is one that dont need negative redick we get enough on the street. As far as consumer ecpectation do your research before spending your money. Having a system is not about overpoweting your subs even for db drags. There are some enthusiest that take budget brands and and below and do well in spl and sql levels.
