Which are too short. Wish I could watch most of these shows in their entirety now. Wish her the best. Thanks for your effort. If I was putting this together, I'd probably never get it finished

Joey H. was in the 1968 tv production "Of Mice and Men" she was really good in it. As far as being labled a "cheap imitation of Ann Margret" In my opinion I see it differently , both women have different body types and different styles of dancing. Also, Joey was offered the part in "Lolita" but her Dad, Ray Heatherton said no, he didn't want his daughter type cast as a "sex kitten." In fact, Sue Lyon got the role, and because she was only 14 years old, she was not allowed to go to the premiere, in June 16 1962. Thanks for another entertaining "Facts Verse!"
My older brother was working at NBC from about 1963 to 1970 so he got to see all the Dean Martin shows being taped and he took me along for a bunch of them. I remember seeing Joey Heatherton in her first appearance on Martin's show because it was his premiere S1E1. I recall Martin saying something like, "My next guest has been dropping in and out of movies and TV shows since 1960 and we're glad she dropped in for our first show. Ladies and gentlemen, Miss Joey Heatherton." And Joey came out and did this song and dance called, "I've Got Your Number". It really stuck in my mind all these years and I haven't been able to see it since but I could tell even as a young kid that this little lady had that magical special something that would make her a big star one day. Joey Heatherton sure was nice to look at when she was younger. Too bad things didn't work out for her because was a naturally talented performer. But she did not help herself by making some bad choices and decisions that negatively affected her life.
It was her former husband that basically ruined her career. I think he was a former football player. Back in the 70s he exposed himself to some young children and suddenly all her acting gigs dried up and she couldn’t get a job afterwards. And it was not her fault
I'm a fan. Love her version of "I'm Sorry." That said, Joey is obviously limited by the mindless presentation her handlers concocted and the instability she seemed to radiate. She's like a blind date who has physical potential but whose personality is a red flag. I think audiences were reluctant to invest emotion in her fearing she would crash rather than fly, and they preferred to spare themselves the grief. I think there was a lot more to her than we were allowed to see, but now we'll never know, will we?
I am old enough to remember her too, and it is sad that she is remembered as the underdog. Although I would rather listen to Black Sabbath than her music she was a lovely and talented woman, and should be given a meddle for what she did for our troops in Vietnam.
Met her and bob hope once in 1966 at a show rehearsal in my city. She beautiful and nice. Bob hope was amicable but they were working out their routine so I couldn't stay long. I remember how old bob hope without makeup and he was only 66 then. But Joey was gorgeous.

I think Joey was a really talented beautiful actress singer dancer who suffered from very poor management and advise from people who were suppose to be managing her career and getting paid handsomely to guide her. She certainly deserved much better roles and better guidance in her singing career also. So much beauty and talent wasted when she should have been a star. Hope she is happy today enjoying her retirement years
Joey is clearly a multi talented performer but career never really took off despite having real talent, connections and beauty. Marketing her as a sex kitten when she was a teenager was a mistake because that wears thin but it’s a hard mold to bust out of. I think her career ultimately ended not because she divorced her husband (who could blame her?), but because the style of entertainment she was best at had lost popularity by the end of the 60s. It also didn’t help that she was cast in mediocre at best movies. Joey deserved better.
I enjoyed watching her & got to do so when she was in Bob Hope USO tour in Vietnam. Seeing this, I think she was missing some solid direction in her career.

Joey was All That An A Bag Of Chips (!) ... This Mini-Doc sounded Fairly Accurate ... Although I don't ever recall the word Raunchy (03:56) being used to describe her Acts ... I always admired her beauty.Kudos to all the USO entertainers! I can't and won't speak on the negatives in her personal life. The very fact that we are human and therefore imperfect enters my thoughts quite often. We all mistakes-not necessarily the same as others but mistakes just as well.
I Always felt that doing The Happy Hooker was the worst movie she done. I believed it destroyed her career. I also felt she should gone into Broadway. One Broadway role she would be great doing is Damn Yankees as Lola.
Again, these are very interesting to us colder people who remember these old stars. The only thing is I wish someone would coach the narrator the correct pronunciation of the people in these stories. ….. Lance who?????
I’m 62 years old I remember Joey Heatherton very well I was just a little boy but like you said she was on everything it seems to me like that she’s doing a whole lot of embarrassing things and that’s why she’s probably hiding

Hi what a great video loved it. Here's some stuff you may find interesting and maybe get some inspiration for further vids . As I said we would probably have never heard of Joey were it not for our northern soul scene an interesting subject in itself. There are many talented American performers probably long forgotten at home whi are now revered in the u.k through having records adored on the northern soul circuit. Here are a few with the great tunes they are known for.1 Barbara Mcnair actress motown singer one of first African Americans to appear in playboy, Your gonna love my baby. 2 Kelly Garrett singer broadway performer, loves the only answer. Great rare footage exists of her performing this for Hugh Heffner at the playboy club . 3 Toni Basil dancer of easy rider fame , Breakaway 4 Leslie Uggams entertainer singer who played a slave girl in roots ,love is a good foundation. 5 motown writer singer who married Marc Bolan of T. Rex . The sublime original 1964 version of Tainted love.
I stopped liking Joey Heatherton as much when she cut off that beautiful blonde mane of hers and went for a Peter Pan haircut. Bad career move in my opinion. Joey looked far more sexy in long hair. But where the comparison goes regarding Ann Margret at least Joey could sing. Ann Margaret had no voice range. It sounded mousey. Joey had a powerful singing voice and one top 40 hit called "Gone". Did Margaret ever have a hit? I don't think so.
@@FactsVerse Liked Joey's appearances on Johnny Carson, the fact she traveled with Bob Hope USO tours. Joey's multiple photos she posed for. Just an all around beautiful sexy lady!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
She had it all as a dancer like Vera Ellen; however, Joey could really sing. Shes far better dancer than Ann Margaret. Shes right up there with Liza Minelli. too bad her husband's scandal ruined her career. If she had been born 10 years earlier she would have been in movies in the 50s. and a bigger star.
So many gorgeous women I have known personally were as nuts as the gorgeous Joey. What is it with these beauties? Never could figure them out. But they sure were lots of fun to be with - in the beginning.

I have a copy of The Joey Heatherton Album in my collection. The original from 1972.
You're a true fan of Joey, thank you for sharing this. What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
Joey was All That An A Bag Of Chips (!) ... This Mini-Doc sounded Fairly Accurate ... Although I don't ever recall the word Raunchy (03:56) being used to describe her Acts ... Maybe or Maybe I just didn't think they were Raunchy (?) ...
Edit: Almost Forgot ... On November 7 1965 She appeared on What's My Line as the Mystery Guest ... This was Dorothy Kilgallen's Final Episode ... Kilgallen died Suddenly right after the show ... That was Shocking News for the Day ...

I was partially named after Joey ... My mom thought she was going to have a boy but had a girl instead 😊 my dad's name was Joe so I would have been a Jr, but they were both fans of Joey heatherton so they just switched around my name to spell Joye instead.
Fun stuff, thank you so much for sharing your life story but did you like Joey Heatherton?
Ann Margerat should have followed.
…maybe the reason you don’t see the former sex-kitten anymore, is because she’s 78 years old
Absolutely one of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen
Whoa, a true fan! Which role of Joey is the most memorable for you?
I met Joey heatherton when I was about 14 I was taking a couple of classes at the university of Oklahoma and we got to meet her and her husband. That was 50 years ago.
We're very happy to know that you had a chance to meet Joey! Thank you so much for sharing your life story. Which of her roles appealed to you the most?
Life can be cruel to stars Joey was an amazing talent and lovely lady
I always admired her beauty.Kudos to all the USO entertainers! I can't and won't speak on the negatives in her personal life. The very fact that we are human and therefore imperfect enters my thoughts quite often. We all mistakes-not necessarily the same as others but mistakes just as well.
We're happy to know that you're a fan of Joey. In your opinion, what is her finest role?
I Always felt that doing The Happy Hooker was the worst movie she done. I believed it destroyed her career. I also felt she should gone into Broadway. One Broadway role she would be great doing is Damn Yankees as Lola.
That being 75 thing might be impacting her career as well?
She disappeared from the scene relatively quick. She tried to make a comeback but it was a very hard road.
Glad to know that you still remember Joey. Thank you so much for sharing your life story. Which of her roles appealed to you the most?
The dance she taught Carson was called the Froog (long u sound) not Frug (short u sound).
She’s at least in her mid 70s . What do you expect?!
Happy 80th birthday Joey !
Yes I was & am a Absolute Fan of Ms Heatherton , in Her Hay day. She was the Bomb. Fantastic was what I thought of Her Talent, Looks, & the Entire Package 📦📦 WoW did that Young Lady present the Total "SEX KITTEN 🐈🐈🐈" Image.
Always dreamed about Her after watching Her on some Program.
Alas I hope She is Well? And May God Bless Her.🙏🙏🙏🙏
I liked her exit scene in Bluebeard....the only one that survived
One of the best, no doubt…❤
she had great talent, she just never got the right vehicle to take her big
Well said, we strongly concur! Thank you for watching our content and for sharing your thoughts. Which role of Joey appealed to you the most?
@@FactsVerse she did a small great film with Lee Majors for TV called The Ballad of Andy Crocker -- great film and great cast
@@FactsVerse Joey Heatherton was trained, talented, and worked hard --in her time most actresses did not get treated well, late Susan Oliver was same way, beautiful, talented, and overlooked, Sue Lyon was lovely and good actress -- really sad since I wonder what they could have done if they were here today starting out
I always love Joey heatherton and thought she was so great looking
We're a big fan of Joey too! Thanks for sharing. Which of her roles appealed to you the most?
Another great piece you did here but Heatherton's ex husband you pronounced Lance Rens Zelle and it's said Rens Zel.
Did you ever stop to think why she’s no longer seen is that she just wants to live out the rest of her life in peace like the rest of us. Give it a break!
Ah Joey, you deserved better.
Neighborhood of my dreams, Joey living on one side & Susan Oliver on the other....
We absolutely agree! Thank you for your watching our video. Be on the lookout for the next one!
There is a resemblance; also with Tuesday Weld, Connie Stevens, probably some others of that time.
She is very very talented and show biz eat her up, as usual.
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Be safe and have a great day!
Yes I thought she danced very well and was very attractive.
Us too! Which role of Joey appealed to you the most?
She made the cardinal sin for an actress …she turned 40
She did make puberty rough as a young man ! Just look at her -- DAM !
Always enjoyed her dancing on variety shows back in the 60's.....
Naughty, naughty! 😀
@@FactsVerse very..lol
She was so crush worthy when i was a kid
One of our favorites too! Which role of Joey is the most appealing to you?
@@FactsVerse I would have welcomed her to my serta. Maybe it could have kept her out of trouble. Lol
Yes. I loved her
We love Joey too! Which of her roles appealed to you the most?
Her record when you call me baby is much admired by northern soul fans in Britain. Cool lady.
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! We love Joey. What other types of video would you like to see?
Sorry forgot to say Gloria jones made tainted love.
Her personal sadness aside, she was so talented and had a stunning body as well! Those legs...WOW!
I’m from Long Island and got married at the St Agnes Cathedral where she went to school. I never knew she was local to me. And yes she was hot!
Glad to know that you learned something new about Joey. What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
Thank you
Our pleasure! We're so glad you enjoyed this video. What other types of video would you like to see?
my top heart throb of all time.
Glad to know that you're a fan of Joey. Which of her roles appealed to you the most?
I remember her on tour with Bob Hope in 'Nam...
Lance 'Keep on your Pants' Rentzel Wondered where that came from...
50 years ago when I was a teenager she was just another cutie on TV but honestly I haven't thought about her until I seen this clip.
Me either
This video is great if you like long commercials.
Knew little or nothing about Joey. Sorry that obstacles got in the path.
There were hundreds of other entertainers who performed back in the seventies you don't see anymore. That's not uncommon after five decades.
That dance is pronounced the "froog "not " frug".
Remember her !
The dance you mentioned was pronounced “FROOG” - not “FRUGG”.
Love Joey Heatherton!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We're very happy to know that you're a fan of Joey. Which of her roles appealed to you the most?
@@FactsVerse Liked Joey's appearances on Johnny Carson, the fact she traveled with Bob Hope USO tours. Joey's multiple photos she posed for. Just an all around beautiful sexy lady!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not a fan anymore after all of that! LOL Happy New Year all!
How do these celebrities from the 60's and 70's who haven't worked in decades make ends meet?
Joey needs to control her temper before gets into trouble she can not slide out of. I mean this in her interest.
We absolutely agree! Thank you for your watching our video. Which role of Joey appealed to you the most?
@@FactsVerse Golddiggers .
She had it all as a dancer like Vera Ellen; however, Joey could really sing. Shes far better dancer than Ann Margaret. Shes right up there with Liza Minelli. too bad her husband's scandal ruined her career. If she had been born 10 years earlier she would have been in movies in the 50s. and a bigger star.
so she was always surrounded by that special long-nosed glow.
She hit DA' wall. Your welcome.
Love her!
We're very happy to know that you're a fan of Joey. In your opinion, what is her finest role?
So many gorgeous women I have known personally were as nuts as the gorgeous Joey. What is it with these beauties? Never could figure them out. But they sure were lots of fun to be with - in the beginning.
