The SCARY TRUTH About The Detroit Lions Heading Into Week 3...

- The Detroit Lions lost week two against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to start out the season 1-1. Jared Goff and the Lions offense lead by Ben Johnson needs some serious conversations. Aaron Glenn's defense is great!
FTP!
This reminds me of when you don’t study for a test because you’ll think you’ll be fine then you fail, hard….
Yeah Ben Johnson didn't have any gameplan on how to attack the Buc's defense it was embarrassing lol
Kevinbz2p; I've always been a natural at taking tests. I took the ACT without a practice-test,with 45 minutes of sleep,as I left a night-club"On-TILT"off of cheap wine!! I had a composite score of 27(out of a possible 36)and on the English, reading and writing portion I scored THIRTY-ONE of a possible 36!! Had I studied and taken a practice test I shudder to think what I might've scored!! 😮
2 Games in I'd rather lose the early games in the season and learn from our mistakes early.
It’s almost as if since, St. Brown had so few opportunities the prior week-Ben Johnson felt obligated to get him the ball at the cost of taking touches away from Sam Laporta. With just two games played, There are many teams that are one on one. Don’t get discouraged! Go Lions!
INTENTIONAL loss
And the government did 9/11!
NFL is RIGGED ... Fixed .The Boss says lose , you lose boss nfl
Oh, WOW!! Brilliant go fast!! Just brilliant!!
You nailed it!Nothing to say Goff was one dimensional and didn't look off his receivers!
disagree. I blame the offensive line & coach & the defensive secondary. Goff got hit 19 times. at the 0.53 mark of this video Goff got smacked with a big hit and at the end of the game 4th & 8, Bucs rush 4 player, 2 hit Goff & caused him to throw a bad pass. Give him protection & Goff will go through the progression & make plays. Also Coach take the field goals . Defensive secondary gave a TD to #14 & wasn't even touched. The lions were up with 3 minutes to go in 3rd quarter, Baker rushed twice from the 30 yards and scored a TD. Never recovered after that. GO LIONS
They will bounce back. Next game the offense is gonna explode.
@@dragondrew2000 😐
I can't agree. Kyler Murray will run for several first downs and even a TD. The Cards will have the Lions on their heels. That's what I think, anyway.
Goff should only be passing 30-35 times per game. When he does it this much the Lions see success
a good balance is key
completely agree with you on this...... the offense needs to find its groove..... the defense is playing way better than what we watched last year..... it honestly comes down to the muffed end of the first half...... that missed chance to kick a FG cost us the chance at the end of the game to win with a FG..... maybe the game would have played out different but i also think it would have been a big W for us
Those 3 points at the end of the first half absolutely mattered. We had 2 shots at the end of the game to score a touchdown and couldn't. if we had the field goal in the first half we would have only needed 3 at the end of the game, and would have certainly gotten that.
not really. 1-7 in the redzone absolutely mattered
Yes it did matter… but it shouldn’t is what I’m saying. That could have saved us but it’s not why we lost.
@@bubblegut148 I agree, but both things can be true.
@@steezbreakdowns Agreed.
Buccaneers defensive scheme is legit. You give Todd Bowels enough looks at an offense and he will figure out how to stop it. Look at what happened to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs smoked the Bucs during the regular season. They put up 450 yards and 27 points. It was 27-10 with 6 minutes left in the 4th. Then comes the Super Bowl. 340 yards and 9 points. Bowels saw the lions twice last year and I guarantee he had this game circled on his calendar. He was ready.
Except the Bucs gave up 400+ yrds of offense. More than double for TB. It was Detroit who shot themselves in the foot being 1 for 7 in the Red Zone!
@@mandm275 bend don’t break.
@@markb3451 I understand "bend don't break," but it was the Lions poor play calling and Jared's play that cost them. It had less to do with TB defense.
@@mandm275 If they can figure out the red zone they'll be putting up 40+
If you need 8 yards why throw the ball 9 yards when you can throw it 3 yards and watch your receiver fight his ass off to get another 5? Duh
Why throw the ball 55 f**king times when David Montgomery is on the roster???
BJ and JG have their heads in each other's asses
@@DetroitLions59 OCD?
@@DetroitLions59 They are testing our their passing game. They are seeing how good their offense is so they can decide for the future game whether to run the ball or throw.
Ben Johnsons gameplan the entire 2nd half lol
Not only is the O-line playing bad with sieve-like blocks and lack of focus penalties, but Goff misses Josh Reynolds. Half of his highlight reel was first down and TD throws to Josh
GOOF NOT GOLF
Crazy thing is our offense ran double the plays of the Buc's offense and still came up with 4 less points how does that even happen?
You can not compare this game to the seahawks game last year! Cmon, man, really? Like this was the offenses fault! Ben Johnson, Goff, even the O-line! They gave up 19 pressures against the bucs!
I believe the lack of clicking is due to the loss of the consistency of Josh Reynolds and lack of consistency in Jamo we need a new #2. I pray that all changes
Disagree on both points. Jamo is definitely an upgrade from Josh Reynolds all day. I’m willing to admit that maybe Raymond isnt the best WR3 though, as much as I like the guy…
@@theimperiallaw4026 I really hope you are right, time will tell. Jamo and Goff don’t have the same connection
OMG totally agree where the F was LaPorta? He should have been able to shred a depleted Tampa secondary. No sign of a healthy Khalif Ramond either. Instead let's try to force the ball to Jamo or Saint
Saying someone isn't Stafford or Mahomes and that they can't throw the ball three times in a row but giving that person the second highest contract of all time is just wild
against a good defense when you have a good running game i like the diversity
That d fence looks solid af.
It was a tough loss..Our offense needs to get in a rhythm. They are off..A loss is a learning experience...We will be just fine...
yesterday was bad. Ben Johnson needs to go take a moment in the conference room to think up new schemes. That being said could have been way worse
our defense really kept us in this football game… and defenses win championships. look at KC last year their defense kept them in so many games like vs the ravens in the AFC Championship
@@steezbreakdowns Well let's see how our defense holds up against Arizona. I am curious to see if we will be able to stop Kyler Murray or if he will run circles around us and I am also curious to see if our guys can cover Marvin Harrison Jr.
Lions put up a ton of offense in this game, per usual. They are still playing like a top 5 offense. But the red zone performance was bad. Something they've been really good at over the past 2 years. Ben needs to get back to his bread and butter (more Monty, more SLP) play calling and Goff needs to handle the pressure better (the line has given up a lot of pressures and QB hits this year, so far. They're ranked below average right now on the year).
They put up like over 400 yards. The problem is they ran out of steam as soon as the buccs secondary was condensed.
I agree 100%
exactly! 55 throws. best rb duo in the league and we don’t run it. dmont against the rams should have shown that all you need to do is run it. Defense isn’t the problem at all. the o line could have done a lot better aswell.
Yah, should have won that one Lions. The redzone plays were weak and other options were on the table. Maybe Goff was distracted by personal issues.
great analysis steez. some of these comments are crazy. lions will be just fine. these are problems that can be fixed.
One bad week and the sky is falling. San Fran, Dallas, Baltimore, Philly all lost. What are we going to say about them.
They got to pass off the running game, not run off the passing game.
It never made any sense to me to rest your starters until the first game. Injuries will happen throughout the season but have your final roster ready and get the starters out there for the last preseason game.
This proves St. Brown is not a true #1 and Jamo isnt ready to be #2. Is there any other team that has a slot receiver #1? BH blew it with Reynolds. That extra mil or so isnt doing much.
Yeah, letting Reynolds go was dumb. That to me is sol, actually, sof, same ole Fords.... thanks for keeping the team together from last year. That is one less option for Goff to go to
Tim Patrick showed some promise of stepping into that role
Lions play a whole game and only score 1 touchdown. Reminds me of Stafford losing 6 to 3 when he had megatron
What can happen without a solid big body WR...
Defense is fine imo.
Spot on!
yeah were still not ready defensively
What parts?
Slow ur roll boss ... he did it for a reason... Goff and wr had 0 reps in preseason. And very little in game 1. He lit Goff up in game 2... I predicted this.... he's building reps... by game 5 you won't even recognize it.. have patience and let em cook
very true
Anyone who would hang this loss on the defense needs to just watch baseball.
The game was lost not only by offense but special teams 2 fgs =6 points 1 b4 half and one at the end piss pore play calling and lack of communication cost the lions
I completely disagree! Goff 45% Johnson 55%. However could AG do what the Bucs D did with so many starters out? Answer no. Last few years proved that. But yes D was good. It fricking better be.
good points
Nobody fucked me over more than laporta in my fantasy
If Ragnow was hurt, would that affect your run game or game plan?
I’d rather see them loose to the bucs in week 2 and start to heat up after thanksgiving.
You are pretty much spot on except your opinion on dan dumbbell. He gambles with a fake punt but doesn't try the 60 yard field goal? Then the end of the half was all dumbbell. Dumbbell constantly leaves points on the field because of poor time management and incompetence. We didn't make the superbowl because he left points on the field. He's a idiot!
Agreed, the gambler should go to Vegas and stay there
Imagine hating on the one coach thas has turned this team around in how many years or should I say decades lmao clown take. You should take your clown act to Vegas and stay there
@@matthewholmes9570 be blessed
@@matthewholmes9570 you think it was coach dumbbell and not the multiple years in a row with multiple early first round picks? Do you really think the lions success is due to dumbbell and not the talent on the field? Dumbbell has been hindering the team and nothing more.
@@kasey9186 are you going to sit here and act like the lions didn't have high picks for years before that? From 02 to 20 they picked in the top 10, 12 times, the top 5, 7 times and top 3, 6 times.
Did you see AZ decimate LA in Week 2? The Cards by 7 over the Lions. AZ is HUNGRY and Lions are still trying to figure things out.
Where do you get the overhead film from?
80% O-line. Bad. Couldn't ground and pound when you can't gain or keep losing yardage on 1st down.
Your defense of Goff is merited.
good or bad?🥶
@@steezbreakdowns Good. The key to a winning team is a winning quarterback. But you have to build a team around him. Matt Stafford didn't have a chance with the old regime, which thought you can have a star and that is enough to sell tickets. Billy Sims, Barry Sanders, Matt Stafford. All three carried the team. Jared Goff is blessed to have a team of stars and a team philosophy that looks forward to great success.
He recieves the same money if Wins or loss , GOOF (y).
But he will make more $ if he knows he`s losing !
Put blame where blame needs to go! The reason the lions lost that game was because of goff
Your take is incorrect if the lions would of kicked fg b4 half instead of missing those points and kicked the other on their 2nd to last drive of game they would have won by 2 what are you talking about?
He’s not saying they would have still lost he’s saying it’s ok that it happened and that this is just what we should expect from Dan camble he’s aggressive and sometimes being Balsey backfires but it works for us most of the time and he’s still a great coach sometimes he makes bad calls but that’s just who he is
Sorry but you're wrong about LaPorta. Reports are that he had very little separation throughout the entire game. He really wasn't himself promoting some to think he was playing hurt.
He was wide open at times though and goff tossed it into coverage
End of the game.....need a touchdown and the ball was never thrown to the end zone
Steez Breakdowns,
You accuse some of your fans for not knowing what they are talking about, but you need to check yourself and make sure you really saw what you think you saw!
1. You said on Goff's first pick the Bucs got a free turnover because of a no pass interference call!
Now, take off your rose colored glasses and rewatch the play! The Buc defender you are accusing never moved! He never took a single step! And the Lion receiver plowed right into him! In fact, if it wasn't picked, it could have been OPI. It was a horrible throw by Goff and a worse route by the receiver. That sir, is why it wasn't called! Yet, you kept harping on this over and over in your video while you were clearly wrong!
2. Then you said the one that was called against Arnold was "weak," but in the same breath, you said, "He DID grab his facemask though." LOL, seriously? If a defender grabs a receivers facemask as the ball is coming down, that's NOT a weak PI call bro!
3.Aaron Glenn:
Ok, you said on defense "the only play you could be mad about was the long pass to Godwin."
Then let me ask you. After the Lions finally took the lead 16-13, do you remember what happened? I'll remind you. The defense got Baked! Mayfield answered with a TD of his own in only 3 plays! A pass, then two Mayfield runs up the middle! The 3rd play was a 11 yard Mayfield TD run!
But yeah Glenn was "phenomenal."
Stop making Lions fans look bad by being such a homer! The Bucs weren't given anymore than the Lions were. Go back and watch the Carlton Davis no call against Godwin. He held Godwin first with one hand, let him go, then held him with the other! Plain as day! Maybe Carlton felt the need, because that is the only way he stopped Godwin all day long.
Before you cry about something and put it on your channel, maybe you should double-check to see if you saw what you think you saw. And not just hear what the announcers see or ONLY what your biased eyes allow!!!
I was saying “but he did hold is facemask” agreeing with the call. I felt like besides the facemask it was weak PI and even with it he only really grabbed it for a second and didn’t pull him. I still think it was PI tho. For Jamo on Goff’s first pick, I know he ran into the defender, and I know the defender didn’t move. But I think that is still PI. The DB isn’t aloud to make contact with the WR post 5 yards. I’m not sure how the rules would rule a WR running his route and a DB is there. I think it’s PI but overall it’s just unlucky. And for Glenns defnese sure that drive wasn’t the best. But overall the D was good!
@@steezbreakdowns
It wasn't about grabbing the facemask, in fact I don't think he grabbed it at all. It's about "facemasking" which is putting his hand on the facemask blocking the view of an incoming pass. You can't do that.
On the first play, yes he was outside 5 yards, but you are entitled to your space. There can't be PI if you never move. In fact, even if he moves the receiver can't just plow into a DB. Think about it, otherwise there would be receivers running into defenders on every pass!
Agree with you 100%!!!
Ben Johnson was awful.
Goff sucked. He was throwing it at his teammates shoes
Maybe Goff's wife took some of his money and bet on tampa
Yall dogged AG last year how about calling for Ben Johnson head
Is everyone tested for Drugs ?

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6 King James Version (KJV).
Nope it’s SOL and it’s here to stay. They might win 6 games!!
It’s only week 2, remember when people said the eagles would be Super Bowl contenders last year? They were 10-1. All the sudden they lose 6 of their last 7. Basically what I’m saying is. It’s only week 2. Do you know how much foot ball we got left?
@@kaninesensesdon’t give the obvious troll rage baiter a time of your day
its here to stay with Goff yes why they need to move on to HH to hit that next level
It wasn't Dan Campbell's fault???? You don't blame Dan but you blame Ben Johnson? Are you serious ?Lions fans have to stop making excuses for this guy. Great motivator, TERRIBLE coach. Saying that the halftime blunder didn't make a difference is MORONIC, and shows this guy knows nothing. They lost by 4. They hit that field goal and they are down by one and in field goal range with time running out, to win. IT IS SIMPLE MATH! Goff did this same thing with LA. After he got a huge contract, he played exactly like this. Plus, what does it matter how many times you play a team. If you are better and have a good coach, you win. PERIOD. Also, you contradict yourself. You say Goff is fine but then you say that Laporta was open but he wasn't getting the ball. Who's fault is that. Goff should have had FOUR ints. You just showed so many times when Goff made bad mistakes. The play calling was fine but Goff was HORRIBLE.
take your meds buddy

Sorry bro, he's not a "great QB". He's just average at best.
