I just left the Toyota dealer yesterday and now waiting for my Tacoma Off road. Your videos have been very helpful in my decision to pick one up! Thank yoU!
UPDATE 2023: VLEDS has a new V2 harness that requires slightly different install instructions than shown in this video. Please see the additional updated video instructions if following along: th-cam.com/video/BPhE96QblN4/w-d-xo.html. Thank you! -- Hope you enjoyed the video! I wanted to make a small correction-the PWM only adjusts the “night mode” brightness (and I was told that it is at the lowest setting out of the box). Anyways, thanks for watching as always and happy modding 😄
Chloe, Not trying to be demeaning in any way, but, for a girl, you do some of the BEST, most detailed, mod installation videos I have seen! Way to go girl! You are very talented!
You made all that look so easy ! At the factory training people to install that A Pillar is so difficult, most people just don’t get it. The door weatherstripping as well. I would be really surprised if you didn’t leave a big gap at the bottom of the a Pillar where it meets the instrument panel. Either way great job !
How did you remove the white clip??? You only stated you used the provided flat head but I have no idea how to remove it. Please show every step in video.
Just picked up my third gen and I’m loving you’re videos. I love how much you’ve done to your truck while still maintaining a relatively OEM look. Keep it up!
Yesterday I installed some of those VLED lights in the footwells of not only the front seats but for the back seats too. Took me longer than I would have liked but I think they look awesome and I think I will enjoy them for years to come.
YES! Thanks Chloe. After 30 years of driving trucks and cars with black interiors, I had enough. It was frustrating discovering how many Toyotas have black-only interiors; or, black-only floor areas. The LED lights are a fantastic. Thanks for doing a very clean look and install. I do a lot of night and winter work so dark footwells and floors are never any help. This was a GREAT tutorial. Toyota needs to get you to do the RAVs, Highlanders and Land Cruiser 😁
Thanks Chloe… I just bought the VLEDS footwell kit for my 69 mustang. They actually have a plug that fits into my stock courtesy light bulb socket… so totally plug and play… and no hacking up my classic car wiring. Couldn’t be happier with the kit.
I love how accessible you make this stuff. Sometimes you hear about having to rewire stuff and it's like nah, i don't have that in me, and then you do it so simply i leave your videos thinking, yeah i got this. Thanks for doing what you're doing!
Chloe, you keep spending my money!! I just got the MillerCAT Cat Shield and will install that this weekend. Great videos! Very detailed and informative. I'll be putting these footwell lights on my shopping list.
I actually use a kit I made myself that turns on with my dome light and has it's own switch as well. I went red on mine. A lot my lights are red in the interior because I really only use or notice them at night and red is really easy on your eyes. It also doesn't cast out super far which I like. I have outside lights in amber and white all around my rig if I need it anyway. Nice job and super clean install.
They're also available for the 2014-2021 Toyota Tundra. Vleds appears to be one of the bet "plug and play" footwell and also puddle lighting available. Thanks Chloe.....excellent posting!
Hi Chloe I just received my VLEDS foot well lighting and they've been on back order for like 3 months. So I finally have mine looking forward to the install. And also your instructional install video was presented very well . Great job
Hi Chloe. I love your TH-cam channel. I got several mods based on your recommendations. I am going’s to install the footwells…your YT definitely convinced me. I cannot handle anymore than one vehicle at a time. I do not know how you do it. I wanted to thank you for the information I have acquired from your subscription. Thank you. Huge follower. 🤟
Question. Can you “shut off” the map lights and interior light with the switch up by the map lights and still have the Footwell lights function when the doors open ? Also, can the nite mode be shut off ? I like a dark interior when I’m driving. My dash lights are as dim as possible and I never use the center radio screen. I see very well in the dark, and simply do not like a lot of light. Thank you for your informative installation videos. Job well done.
Thanks for the easy-to-follow directions. I just got mine and they look great worth the money. I work nights and this is great to have. No need to hunt with a flashlight when you drop something anymore and I can see getting in and out. Chole keeps showing us nothing but great products unlike so others out there that just show anything they get for free and lie about how good they are. Thanks again
@@Alpha-uk4yb that's not necessarily at bad habit, a bit expensive though. It might be less expensive to own the bartsia and her machine. Do think Chloe would fit the bill?
I love VLEDs! I replaced all the lights at the front of my Tundra and all the interior lights. Yeah the bulbs and kits are pricey but I don't have issues with blown fuses or melted connectors - and as you point out their kits are plug and play. I should see if they have this kit for my truck - your install demo is perfect
New subscriber here, traded in my 09 Taco for a 22 TRD OR. presently waiting for delivery. I love this mod and it will definitely be on my to do list. You have a great channel
Great video young lady..I have a 2022 Toyota Tacoma Off Road, and I am very seriously going to look into these lights…you did a great job with the video! Looks great in your truck…
The wire routing is different than her video....I have a 22TRD and the instuctions say go through the overhead light cluster and through the headliner down the A pillar. Surprised the heck out of me, but Im going to call them on Tuesday (after New Years) and check for sure
Great mod and awesome step by step! Thanks. My Tacoma is on the way and I was thinking of getting blue to match my body color, but I will decide when it gets here next week.
Just an FYI, the 2016 to 2023 Tacoma Footwell light installation has changed. VLED changed it to plug into the overhead light. A very simple install still. Great job Chloe. They need you to do a vid for them on the new ones!
I remember installing an aftermarket CD player in my 99 Honda Civic Si in a parking deck at VCU in Richmond, VA. I got interrupted only once by parking security.
wow chloe these lights look great and clean install, am getting my set in blue because i have blue theme going on .P.S i didnt see the link in the video.
Always great content! I installed mine today, not sure if I'm a fan of the soft light that is on while the headlights are yet, but stoked none the less. I goofed and dropped my pen light down the A pillar crevice and spent 30 minutes fishing that out. Other than that install was straight forward. Thanks again!
Great video. Hands down my favorite unique thing I’ve done to my Tacoma. Did it after watching the video and seeing the mega thread on it. And now I can easily tie in my puddle pods as well. Also did the VLEDS interior bulb kit too in 5000K which perfectly matches the tone of my floor kits.
That's what I'm trying to figure out. Trying to decide between 5500 and 6000k or just go red since I have the map and dome in dual color. It's for my 4runner. I'd love a dual color option
I used LED strips and they automatically turn on when I turn the truck on; they'll stay on whatever setting they were last on. ran them under the seats instead though, so the light is pretty dim by the top front end of the footwell.
Another great mod you suggested! 🙂My installation was different because my harness connected in the overhead panel; otherwise, it was the same. The hardest part of the installation was feeding the wire down the A-pillar and removing that darn red tape on the 3M tape. They even included a pry tool to remove the bolt cover on the A-pillar.
You should suggest that they make these “waterproof” and sell them as puddle lights like the VIP cars. Install them either under the vehicle or under the side mirrors. So when you walk up to the truck or unlock the doors, the puddle lights turn on just like you showed. I used to have that on my car. They saved me a couple of times in dark places, after it rained. I think I might do that instead.
Can you show more about how you ran the 4 foot daisy chain connector through the center console to reach the passenger footwell light? That is where I got stuck
Hi Chloe, another great easy mod for the Tacoma. Question? Have you found a similar aplicación for the glove compartment? I hate that there is no light when I open it. Please let me know if you have any products or suggestions. Thanks.
I'm digging this Mod. My old Ram had the blue lighting through out and it was very cool. Im going to stick the blue ones in my 22 and turn down the output a touch. Nice informative video. By the way are you or have you studied automotive engineering because you are one sharp automotive young lady. Glad I found your channel.
I would love to see a long term review of these. I'm thinking about getting them but I wonder how long the adhesive strips last or what happens if one goes out
I’ve had mine for almost a year and so far no issues. I did need to buy stronger adhesive tape. The tape that comes with the lights is not strong at all unfortunately
I really wish I knew about these sooner. I installed a driver-side grab handle about a month ago and screwing the handle into the bracket underneath the A pillar was such a frustration that I refuse to ever remove it again in fear of not being able to get the handle back on.
