Thunder Hunter Abandango is a fantastic player but Dabuz is a lot better imo. Floaty characters get destroyed by Meta Knight's up air combos. Great Meta Knight players have a huge advantage over them.

Schéraz It's still possible just at higher percents now. Also early dash attacks combo into Uair too so it isn't all bad. But then you have people complain "the match was boring".

He needs more an alt against Abadango than against MK in general since Aba is the only one who makes him suffer with matchup. The thing is, if Dabuz doesnt play Rosaluma, Abadango would go Mewtwo and most likely would win the counterpick war.
showmelights Honestly I was surprised he didn't bust out Olimar. I couldn't imagine MK/Olimar or Mewtwo/Olimar would be worse than even. Neither are rush down oriented types that give Olimar trouble with his zoning. Also Olimar is really small so you'd think MK's up air up B strings would be tough to land on him. This set should have been 3-0 but Aba SD'ed twice, honestly it wasn't even remotely close otherwise.
+Axel's DDO Channel Of course, I agree that Dabuz needs to do something soon but as far as we know he doesnt have a character enough practiced to stand against Aba's mewtwo besides his Rosaluma. He does have an Olimar but it's been months since the last time he used him against a top player and this metaknight is too strong to just go for it without practice.
Is it strange that I find Rosalina getting u-air stringed to be rather funny? I mean, I don't know, all I hear is "ke-swing ke-swing ke-swing ke-swing ke-swing", and then "shlack-swoom".

TLDR: It's apparently disgusting to get killed by an up air from rosa near the blast zone at 100% but totally normal to die to a string into up b from metaknight.

metaknight still got hit very hard in the last patch. He dropped from top 10 to mid to low tier, he just have a good match up with Rosalina.
bluedragon .blue Mid to low tier? Really? One move that isn't even his best move got slightly changed. It's still an amazing move regardless, now you just need more skill to use him. ZSS got hit much harder but nobody says she's low tier.
Crimson SSB He was top tier because of that combo, with the last patch the combo doesn't work on most characters. It's like if you changed mario uptilt to make it not able to combo, he will be a worst character.

Crimson SSB the combo works on floaty characters, which rosalina is one. This combo doesn't work in fast fallers, which is very dominant in the competitive scene.
Luma has such a bad matchup against Meta Knight...I mean, he dies in like one or two hits lol.
Damn that was a beautiful match to watch! Aba was wrecking at points(even himself too lol).

The patch made it so you have to DI up-b differently, and the MK has to DI the same way his opponent does or else he'd be out of range. It basically makes it so you cant get kill combos with multiple uairs, or at least really hard since both players have to hold the same direction.

Ryo Shinohara He didn't do very often though, and Rosalina is probably the easiest character to do it against due to her size + weight whereas it's impossible against small characters or fast fallers.

+Mellow Night That's how you're meant to play Rosaluma though, she's light and slow so would probably be destroyed if you don't play patiently.
I agree Dabuz is not the most exciting player to watch for many, but I feel as if there is no denying the fact what he is does is very skilled and patient, which is why he does so well
Smash And Music I don't dislike him for Rosalina I dislike Dabuz cause every character he plays he always camps or runs away with them, I bet if he played Falcon he'd probably get damage and run away the rest of the match
I haven't seen him use heaps of different characters but the ones i have seen him use other than Rosaluma, such as Olimar, also benefit most from a patient playstyle.
I mean i really do understand that it might not be the most hype to watch for some, but there is no denying that he does more than simple "camping" and actually employs a lot of skill and intelligence to his play, which is how he got to his level.
I love how dabuz takes off his glasses when he loses and puts them right back on lol

Sometimes the second hit of MK's upB just won't connect after the first hit. I'm still trying to understand why, it seems an erratic behaviour to me. :(
i think it's SDI dependent, if they time it right and have a high enough % they can get out of the second hit. It's seems to be consistent till their rage is high.

Looks like a terrible MU. MK kills luma so easily and it only takes one hit to kill that big floaty body (Rosa)

Also 2:33 is a classic FG meta knight mistake when you get the ladder, fastfall the up-b but forget where you are because your so high up
All i'm saying is had Dabuz F-smashed instead of d-tilt (in those last seconds), things could have turned out differently.

How exactly do these... matches(?) work? could someone explain all the rules or why people go to these events, *in real life*? I'm new on the competitive side of smash bros :3
The matches are a set of best of five, meaning the first player to win three matches in a set wins the set. Generally, people go to tournaments to get the opportunity to play skilled players and test their mettle, but there are also cash prizes for the top places, especially in larger tournaments like this one (Pound). I feel like people overhype the up air strings. In the first match, it only did 22%. For a lot of characters, that's just two moves

No it really is. NOTHING opens up Rosaluma like getting rid of Luma. Once you've don't that, she's a big light target with average offensive power.

why do all the meta knights fast fall their up b's when they're close to the ledge?! its just not a safe option (meta knight main speaking here) i've seen so many pro's suicide by doing it
What are you talking about dude, they have to fast fall so they don't get punished for it
from my experience, when you're close to the ledge, it's not worth it. ive seen sebrik, mr.r, tyrant, and abadango lose sets from doing that. and most of the time, the opponent has enough hit stun and are launched high enough that they cant punish it if you grab ledge
i guess if the combo is done properly then yeah you dont need to fast fall, but if the enemy is a fast fall character you're kind of required to in order to not lose center stage control.
You have to wait a couple seconds and then fast fall.
