Holmes car is scrap metal at best. Not sure if was their brand new car. Family funded, no huge sponsors. That fence is no place once the cushion has gone away. Shake it off Tanner, as best one can. Prayers buddy, for all...!
For some reason it happened in the one spot on the track that they don't have a second or third camera watching. Definitely glad they are both OK! As for Tanner's car... not so much. 😪
Normally woo and high limit have a stationary camera in each corner to catch these crashes. Thanks for the video. Hopefully tanner Holmes can start making the a main consistancly.
Good to hear they're ok, not a Tanner fan though...Thorson, come on. After hearing Connor Wade, I still don't think it's right calling Chris Windom a triple crown winner in USAC, that title should be reserved for winning all three in the same year like Stewart and Yeley
I know your going to find this hard to believe, but that long shot view of the crash is actually mounted on top of the suites in turn 3 and it's TONY STEWART'S camera.... It's usually on 24/7 year around, see it on the Eldora website... Flo racing flies the drone over the track during the race also, they would of had how it happened...
Dirt Vision Sucks... Flo Racing would of showed how it happened... Flo has the drone overhead during the races also... I watch all four nights of racing... That camera shot replay, (that you can't see shit), came from the top of the suites in turn 3... That's TONY STEWART'S CAMERA... Tony Stewart's camera is available 24/7 year around... Dirt Vision sucks, they should of rented flo's cameras...
“Looks like significant damage to both cars” jeez dirt vision ain’t worth $2.50 a year and why on weeks like this can’t flo and DIRTVision come together and let fans watch both high limits and world of outlaw if you have either or?
The funny part is that long shot of the crash is not even a dirt vision camera... It's Tony Stewart's camera mounted on top of the suites in turn 3... It's on 24/7 year around for viewing off the eldora website... Flo Racing using a drone over the track during the races....
Mr. Moody, I appreciate your channel and you being a big Tanner Holmes fan. Alot of us out here enjoy what Tanner and his family are trying to do and we hope he and his team do well. I don't want to come across as a nit picker but I do take issue with your title for the video. I've been in and around this sport for 65 years. During those years I was fortunate to have worked on a winning sprint team out of California in the mid to late 80s. I've known too many drivers who have been injured badly or killed. When that happens it's tragic and a tragedy. When a racer totals a car it's an - ah FK BUMMER - but there's nothing tragic about. It's just more $$$$$ and time needing to be spent. Again, no offense intended, just a reminder that some terms are reserved and intended for use involving the drivers we root for and other terms for the cars they drive. In spite of writing off a car, this weekend has been good for Tanner. The more laps you can get around any track is good. Sammy always said it best - "all it's takes is laps"
Sadly your perspective is way off, tragedy pertains to so much more than physical tragedy. This is a low funded family run team, any time their car is completely destroyed it is absolutely a tragic end to their night! Please quit trying to be an armchair quarterback and stay in your lane. Thank you!
Mr. Moody, I tried to be as diplomatic as possible in my reply and request. I offered that I wasn't trying to be offensive to you. I said I appreciated the work you do on your channel. My request was based on respect for the drivers we've seen badly hurt and killed, those are tragedies sir. I'm sorry but I don't equate a destroyed race car the same as a destroyed or dead driver. I'm not discounting the blow to the Holmes team in losing a car, Like I said, "it's an ah FK BUMMER" when you wad up a car. They're racers, they know they're gonna wad one up once in awhile. That can't be a surprise. Racers go to work, build a new car and race. When they get tired of doin' it or can't afford to do it they quit. That can't be a surprise either. As for arm chair QB, have you ever built a new car in the Holiday Inn parking lot next to Denny's in Chico after wadding one up on Friday night at the Gold Cup? When Jeff Gordon was 13 and showed up at Hanford before they moved to Indiana and the track wouldn't let him run that night. How many laps did the track give him before they took the qualifying lights down and where did Jeff's best lap put him against the entire field that night? I know the answer to both of those questions. How about you?
@@brycemoody79 Why would they need a rebuild? Unless they over rev the engine or it's running upside down long enough to have an oil starvation issue then the engines are usually fine. Even with an over rev you can change valve springs if everything else looks ok.
Plenty of parts break on and off the engine in these violent flips. You'd check it over and any kind of stress, requires a complete strip down/rebuild. Theyre 40k minimum. And a few thou to rebuild. It's a no brainer
@@caidenshafer6951 Actually they are over 60k now and most teams don't tear them down just because they crash. It depends on many factors but most of the time they look it over and run it.
Glad both tanner Holmes and tanner thorson are okay that was scary

Tanner has really great sponsors this year, he also has a backup car ready to go that is in his trailer..
Will have to fund another car. Yikes! @@drakenobrim901memphis3
TH-cam sponsored 😂
I'm pretty sure they have millions in the bank. If not 500K
glad you guys are ok hopefully tanner has a spare car better luck tommorow night
Glad both drivers are ok. That was a really bad one. Too bad the cars got tore up so much.
Glad everyone was ok
That was a brand new car. -Holmes
Glad both r ok. Hopefully Holmes makes it for the 2nd night.
ever present scenairio in sprintcar racing! glad the drivers were okay. time and money will put another car there!
Well hell! Great handshake and walk away seemingly uninjured. Very lucky it appears from the looks of the car.
Damn man I hate that for my man , I’m glad he’s ok.
Hope you brought the back-up
How do they have no replay. Both drivers are ok, why not show it

Whether you like it or not. USAC themselves recognizes him, Pancho Carter, Dave Darland, Jerry Coons Jr. and Tracy Hines as triple crown winners.
That suck for both teams.
You gonna make it in tonight, Tanner?
They are preparing the backup car to run again tonight!
Too bad Dirt Vision sucks. No replay geesh. A shot from were it can’t be seen.
For real, you'd think that they would have cameras covering every inch of Eldora!!
Flo usually has a camera positioned to see a decent wide angle of all the track. And it's alot cheaper. You would think dirtvision would.
@@brycemoody79 Flo Racing did... the first 2 nights were on Flo.. plus Flo flies the drone over the track during the race

Wow
😳 truly unfortunate 🙏
I hate to say it. It looked like thorson hooked holmes straight into the wall nose first.
Tanner Holmes was a class act and took responsibility for running over Thorson.
I think there is a better word to describe is a racing accident than tragic.

Tragedy -- an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or natural catastrophe.
sad
How is the motor usually affected in these flips?
They usually require a rebuild so I've heard but I'm far from an expert!!
