    Very nice presentation yet you show a perfectly healthy dog on it. I couldn't make any decision if it would be good for my Samoyed and his 2 TPLO'S at 15 years young.

      The little dog isn’t healthy. I still don’t see how this can work every time without flaws. And it looks so cheap

      @@Orlanzepol123 I have it. It's definitely not cheap, but a bit complicated to start out with. IN regards to the perfectly healthy dog. I think , which is something I often find out later, that we should be starting the pets at first instance of joint pains. That way when they arent handicapable, they dont have to be even more frustrated by having to get used to it.

      @@susankorgul324 I did buy one. Walkin Pets Dog Wheelchair for Small Dogs. Very nice looking. However, now I know they don’t need to be so extravagant. I’m sure this one is just fine. My little silky terrier which I adore died a few years ago . He only got to use the walkin’ wheels only for several months. I decided to give him rest because he stopped eating. My heart still aches. And now my cockatiel which I’ve had for 19 yrs is ill. All my babies have died one by one . Charlie is the last one left. No more pets for me . I will continue feeding the strays. Sorry! I went on a rant there. 😂

    Great video, lets see how it works on a dog thats actually disabled. This video is pointless if the model has full use of his legs...

      Watch the video further in and you will see a dachshund that does not have full use of his/her legs.

      But what about medium to large. I have looked all over for videos with truly paralyzed dogs and I have not found any.

      Wheelchairs are also recommended for elderly dogs with hind leg weakness! They can still use their legs, but need additional support for their failing hip joints. Hope this helps! :)

    Why do the wheel's need such large diameters. That's for efficiency. Doggie is not doing a marathon. A smaller wheel with good traction can be more maneuverable and reduce the overall frame envelope, especially indoors. Examples = skateboard wheels, pallet jacks, and forklifts.

    I have looked at your reviews on Amazon with paying customers and it doesn’t seem to have a lot of good to say. Hey said it’s cheaply made and it collapses constantly... not very promising... anyone on here use one ever? I was ready to buy for my dog who has DM but quickly stopped the order button after I read all the negative comments? Anyone know of another wheel chair that allows dog to sit or lie down.
    ( thought it was a wonderful idea for when we go out I. The yard but just want to hang out for a bit without having to take harness off and reharness..( also I am wondering how hard is it for them to go potty I and II.?? Anyone know?

      I ordered one to try. Received it and the directions for assembly were almost useless. The sizing guide appears to be pretty far off too. My Cavalier measures 12 inches at the hip; I have lots of experience measuring him as he has all kinds of custom gear, including a custom snow-suit. He measures 12 inches, so he should have been smack in the middle of the size range for the XS SitGo chair, which is what I ordered. Well, adjusted as tall as it can go, it was still two or three inches too short for him, leaving the harness hitting a bit above his patellas. This means that instead of the chair offering him support, he had to try to drag it with him and it further inhibited what little movement he had for his back legs. Another issue I encountered was the mechanism in the back with the springs. They need to show this better, because I didn't realize how it functioned back there. My Cavalier has a tail and long hair, both of which would be caught in these mechanisms. I also was very confused by how the sit feature is supposed to function. For a dog like the one in the video who is able-bodied, sure, it is fine. Maybe it is a matter of adjusting it correctly, but I am not an engineer and the instructions were complete garbage, so I was at a loss for how to do that. Basically, the chair just collapsed if he stumbled (which he does a lot). The idea is good, execution is poor. Sizing chart is awful. Customer service is now telling me that they can't give me a refund, they can only exchange the chair for a different size, but they don't think that will fit him either. Nice. Really awful company. Awful product. Awful customer experience. Not bad enough that the love of my life is slowly losing his ability to stand on his own, I am also getting screwed over by an exploitative, deceptive company. Definitely DO NOT buy. I have been told that Walkin' Pets and Eddie's Wheels are MUCH better companies to work with and have much better products. I, like you, loved the idea of my dog being able to get up and down and wander around the yard, but I don't think that is realistic. Better option is likely to be a well-made fixed chair from an honest company.

  • @joec.1906
    @joec.1906 7 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    Why does that dog need the chair? That is a young and healthy dog.They need a dog that is handicapped to see if the dog has enough strength in the front legs to pull it's total body weight up. I don't think this char will work for older dogs weak in the front legs.

      @@mari3564 I understand it is just to demonstrate, but I completely agree with @JoeC. I have a 12 year old Boxer with Degenerative Myelopathy and seeing this video didn’t suggest it would support her at all. For example, would you have a teenager demonstrate an anti-aging product on a commercial to show older generation results...heck no. You would show the older generation using it to show how it worked to convince older people to buy the product.

    in so many dachshund dogs you show one dog sitting with sit go wheelchair, his legs already working, that's why he can stand again, but in another scene another dachshund dog wearing same wheelchair with disabled leg but he is not sitting, because the fact is if dog has a back disabled leg how he can stand again from sitting position? even by dragging his front body till long time with front legs his front legs getting weak too. its better to make simple wheelchair that any medium class people can buy it, rich people can buy any costly wheelchair but where those single lady will go who is feeding 30-40 handicap dogs everyday on donation. think about that.

    But can a paralysed dog sit and lay down and get up again in the chair? This video doesn't tell us anything.... 😣

    • @wetdewlap8741
      @wetdewlap8741 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No they definitely can not . You would have to help them and I sure hope people wouldn’t just decide to leave thrrr dog in it being lazy but it would come in handy for when you want to hang out in your yard but don’t want to have to unharness and reharness for an hours time or something. I know as do pet owners know when their dog wants to get up, is not comfortable, needs to go out.. etc..
      Look at amazon though, it unfortunately got really bad reviews. Changed my mind about purchasing and I was really excited that it had that feature to lie and sit down. Still searching!

      Jirral Darmoise being lazy...keeping your dog in one of these? Let me tell you about dog pain. I have an elderly dog and he does not want me to touch him, because of his leg pain, therefore I need something he can stay in. I'm sure most dogs would prefer to stay in a wheelchair, than to be uncomfortable being taken into and out of it constantly...adding to the animals stress....

      I bought one. Sizing chart is way off. Chair collapses if your dog is unsteady on their feet (and if they need a wheelchair, like mine, that's going to be a frequent occurrence), and the mechanism in the back constantly is catching his tail and fur. Not a good product. The only thing that is worse is their HORRIBLE customer service.

  • @amandastang5239

    I also wonder how steady it is or if dogs will be teetering back and forth because of the sit/lay bars...

    Do you any for the front legs and what do i find it under?? Its IMPOSSIBLE to find front lef wheel chairs for my small pom. He is very mobile so i need one where he can use day in and day so he can get up to drink water and lay down and follow me and my family about freely as he pleases.
    Hes practical uses his chin to stay up right and its all allway like an inch off the ground

    My dog needs this soooo bad. I have to carry her butt around with a rope for the back of her. It would be great if this could hold her up and let her sit/lay. $450.00 is way to expensive for a poor person tho. I'm sure rich people love it so they don't have to fool with their poor dogs.
