I can't believe people are leaving comments complaining about the aesthetic of this show. This is in Seoul. The show was inspired by and designed for the Koreans. I mean just look at the bright and playful outfits of the Koreans attending the show. Karl has translated French fashion into something that appeals to another culture because Chanel is a global brand. Just because it's something you wouldn't personally wear doesn't mean it's bad. Karl has brought the Chanel suit to South Korea.
the problem is that as a korean i can not agree with that it is inspired by korean culture.. if Karl really saw the Korean culture he would not use such a vivid color . .

They took the techniques, textiles, and motifs of Korean clothes and arts, and weaved them into Chanel codes: the embroideries are derived from antique Korean wedding chests, the main patterns referred to Korean bojagi textiles, and the colors are derived from both traditional sources and pop videos. They are too smart to simply re-create 50+ looks of Hanbok - instead, they took the defining features of Hanbok (raised waste, ample sleeves, rounded shoulders) and worked these components (individually or in combination) into classic Chanel jackets and dresses. THIS is a textbook masterpiece on how you can pay homage to source inspiration, modernize it and make it your own. Those who complain about the wearability of the show are unfortunately not trained to watch fashion shows. These looks are all styled to the extremes for the show, but if you break them down into separates, there are many amazing everyday pieces
Damn, EVERY single outfit paid homage to hanbok and korean traditional garmets and techniques from color to texture to material even the braided hair, the accessories like the bags, the flowers, hairpins. Even the set itself looks like the colors of the hanbok.
What some people don't understand is that the reason people wear designer is to look different. So for people that call this collection "ugly" and "unwearable" clearly don't understand luxury goods. this collection is beautiful and clearly shows appreciation to korean culture as well as not losing the house's french heritage.
I am completely dumb-struck with awe by this collection. It's as though Karl and his amazing band of designers have seen the future. And the future is a place where people continue escaping into fun and fantasy, but all the while knowing that the world as we know it is becoming a broken robot. I can't believe they are making dresses based on nano-technology. That's just one of the millions of brilliant ideas delivered by this show. I have to watch this again and again to get the full impact. Thanks Karl and Chanel and everyone involved!!!

At first i was a little confused but as soon i got an idea of the inspiration or "look" they where going for i absolutely loved it. It gives me vibes of grandma/grandpa chic, retro mixed with modern city girl/boy with a little bit of a casual vibe; perfect look for summer.
Some people commented that this collection is ugly or not screams Chanel, but I don't see it that way. I think almost all of Karl's Chanel collections are full of refreshment. It's not just about tweed and black dresses. It's not just about practical and elegance, but it could also be something fun and playfull. Karl never come with the same idea every season. He got inspirations from culture (just like this one), youth, or modern tech, and I think he implemented it into Chanel's DNA really well. Btw, is there anyone who notice the korean letters on the outfits in 09:23? If was handmade, must be super cool..
I am very fond of the Korean culture and I have to say that Karl has perfectly captured and translated that into Chanel masterpieces without sacrificing the French influence. I love the headpieces on the ladies and the colors of the traditional Hanbok coming into play. It's not the best collection but it is still impressive.

Kudos to Karl. Over all I liked this collection. It wasn't my favorite but I did like the Pucci esq designs in the beginning and there was a tweed suite that was amazing. It almost looked 3D. I've never seen anything like it. I'm a little confused about the hair pieces?? Is that a traditional Korean head dress or was that just something made up? The makeup was fun (glowing, bright cheek and anima eyes)

I loved the joy and originality in colorful clothes so sweet and innocent makeup look so fresh and funny , . I love her madly the first two songs the parade though the second and it became my favorite, that song is so cute , funny and really captivates !! and there and I stopped listening all day !!
