    I use to always have a crappy lot of old tin sheet roof sheets in a old trailer to use on damp piles. it reflects the heat back in the burn pile basicly makes it in to an oven and if it rains it runs off and allows the fire to burn even in bad rain . Just a thought . Older rust tin the better its only going scrap anyways

  • @christopherlease

    Because the fire is below ground level it is starved of oxygen. You could try a Positive Pressure Fan, similar to what the fire service use, to blow air into a building to remove the smoke. That pile would have been gone in a day and burnt a lot cleaner!!. It would cost you some gas money though. Fire services use them in this way to speed up the burn.

    with it being a big ass hole, it needs a big ass air vent right at the bottom , bring a trench from middle off to one side , drop a pipe in and cover back up.. Trust me you will need to stand back from it, also. it will burn everything at a higher temperature which means less smoke and less burn time... Campers and hikers use same method but you will need to make it on a much bigger scale ... just make sure you video it, as i definitely want to see that one for sure.. also if you do make it, once its going, stand by the pipe and listen how loud its sucking the air in to the fire !

    • @poorassfrmboy
      @poorassfrmboy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scott Morgn It seems when you throw wood into a pile it won’t burn. Keep it neat and organized, it will burn and is easier to keep together as opposed to having to pile it up over again. Something that separates seat warmers from true operators. 🙄

    • @Graveltrucking
      @Graveltrucking 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matt Irmen Chris’s pile is too much like pick up sticks. Burning in a hole never works there isn’t enough air flow at the bottom of the pile.

    • @scotabot7826
      @scotabot7826 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@poorassfrmboy Oh, I agree as long as it has airflow. What I have seen a lot of professional guys do that burn in holes, is to dig a air trough on one side, or both sides. With the proper air flow it will burn really hot and fast. Faster than one would realize. They will burn up solid stumps like you wouldn't believe. Its all in the preparation.

  • @chalemi
    @chalemi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It would probably have all burned if it hadn't been placed in a hole. Not enough air.

    Can't believe there is not a firewood industry in your state. You burned $500 to $1,000 dollars worth of wood with $7 bucks of diesel fuel. Somebody should be following you around every day harvesting the wood off your jobs. Somebody's missed business opportunity.
