    As an HR professional
    -Dress/look the part
-Do your research on the company and interview process (Glassdoor/indeed) look up the role you are interviewing for see if someone posted types of questions, look at the negative feedback ask questions that will help get you a better calcification if this will be the place for you
    - “STAR method” give examples what you’ve done how you solved a problem what was the results, quantify your work etc
-ASK THE RECRUITERS WHAT TO EXPECT! I promise you they want you to get the job so if there’s something you want to know ASK!
-close out the interviews with a question do you have any hesitations about me or my experience is there anything else I can help clarify.

When he said the STAR method can make or break you…LISSEN. I lost a whole job offer because I messed this up. Also, when talking about experience pull from literally any point in your life; it doesn’t have to be at a job. Could’ve happen in a school project.

S.T.A.R. So true. I am a recruiter and I definitely agree with this! Make sure to be detailed and bring the meat and potatoes in your actions and bring it full circle with the results you got at the end!!! If the results were not the best results make sure you talk it up with a positive outlook or a lesson learned or how you bounced back!

Several years back, I created a spreadsheet as a reference guide. I can take each responsibility in a job description and plugin where I did that particular task and what software or equipment o used, and some things I did within those platforms. I always have a 2nd spreadsheet with about 10 STAR method scenarios. I have it broken out S. T. A. R. each column breaks it down, and I can follow it like a roadmap or use it like cue cards. The interviewers appreciate that I can answer the question quickly and thoroughly. I lose no points for reading my answers. It only shows how prepared I am and how I organize my time and other people's time. 🥂

Ok sooo I didn’t know there was a name for it!! STAR method is a real thing! I have plenty of situations in my experience I can pull from but I think I’m using the wrong ones 😂 because the other two I down pat!!!! But when they say “tell me about a time when…” 🤦🏾‍♀️ a lot of interviews I THINK go well but I don’t land any of them…so I will definitely work on my STAR method answers 🙏🏾

      @Kockykeish 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Also….when they ask “do you have any questions for me?” It’s like ummmm…my major concerns are pay, benefits and is there room to grow with the company…..should I be asking anything else?

Be sure to write it out on a spreadsheet. Have that spreadsheet open so you can comfortably refer back to it when ask about a time.

The Star Method is definitely what I was asked in my most recent interview . A lot of tell me a time questions or Tell me a situation when xyz happened . My answers were on point b/c I got hired😁
Another helpful tip is to shop at nice thrift stores for your interview clothes

I so so suck at most interviews maybe due to being at certain job’s for long periods of time that I forget how interview’s go.
Never once I’ve been use to interview’s cause they are so nerve racking but thanks to you, I’m learning how to take control of an interview versus “The” interviewer’s taking control of the interview it self. 😉

I’ve never really had any bad interviews. My most recent interview went very well and that was with the place I work now.
I did have an interview at a bank and they were extremely dry and fake and had NO emotion. So I didn’t even try on the interview😂. Like, I’m not bout to come work for y’all if y’all wanna act like that. To me, that was showing me that they don’t and won’t care about me as a person, and that’s not a place I want to work for.

Looking at the other person as your equal really helped me and took away a lot of the nerves I had in previous interviews. If you are uncomfortable in the formal wear, wear it around the house as you watch TV or something that way the clothes aren't distracting you

Was waiting on the next video 😅! This is all true. Some advice I give is to also make sure you have a LinkedIn page that is active. 1. Add everyone that works for the organization you are in currently “this will get you a lot of participation on your post”. 2. Add people that are in the position you want to be in. This last corporate position move for me the entire interview was them telling me how great the company would be for me. They were 1 of the three organizations that reached out to me. It works! Alright I’m done -waiting for the next

Omg DeAndre I needed this video because I have some interviews for medical school coming up and I usually don't show my true personality. I really appreciate this because I feel like interviews are very intimidating. I never heard of the STAR Method till now and I definitely will be using that strategy for my interviews. Thank you so much!

That STAR method really helps. For me, I allowed myself to always say what happened, what I did and what result I took and the outcome. This was really good. I have found myself struggling with landing the job but yet again I just graduated 8 months ago but have a network of ppl through LinkedIn & slack has really helped

Deandre... can we talk about how interviews tend to make complicated questions towards women who are confident??? I have gotten questions that tend to test me on how well I can “submit” and I find this very harmful, and discriminating towards women. To assume that a confident woman would overstep authority is also bad interview faux pas on the hiring manager’s part.
