I know you are not a realtor, but those realtor sites should really take a huge lesson from how you show these magnificent homes! The camera work is excellent, panning slowly enough for the viewers to be able to enjoy each room and surrounding property. The history lessons that go along are wonderful! I love these historical homes and that y’all are stewards in the future of these homes.

@I am Spartacus, I totally agree. I recently sent one of these homes listed on Zillow to my son, and the pictures alone just didn’t do it justice. With the walk-through and especially the passion in Laine’s voice, you can actually imagine yourself living there.

Got married here… it’s truly a gem. You would never even know where it’s located because it’s so tucked away. The lands support deer and fox… and don’t get me started on those live oaks. The video can’t show you how enormous they are! And a gorgeous home that was well taken care of to top it off ❤

I have an Amazing Story about a True Prince of Prussia that rushed across The Ocean, from his homelands, now within the territory of Germany, in the 1860’s…to aid The Generals of The South. He was gifted a Flag from Them and is still flying it to this Day!

I am almost crying with joy. A perfect home to offer splendor for all. I can afford this but my wife would not move. Beyond glorious...
We are indeed lucky to have you provide such a well-informed and detailed tour of a private home 99% of us would never see otherwise. I love the architectural detective work you do. On other tours I've noticed the later Victorian houses have arches with columns separating entrance halls, parlors and dining rooms, rather then the traditional pocket doors...or perhaps this is a regional thing, where cold weather make actually shutting rooms off from each other more desirable. Routhland receives extra points from me for the majestic oak out front. We have Coastal and Valley Live Oaks here in S. CA; the man who built the house next to mine (in 1928), went out the the back country and loaded up his Model T truck with fill dirt for his lot, bringing acorns along with it. Unfortunately the large tree behind that home was destroyed, but I've seen it's descendants all around the neighborhood. I have three young volunteer oaks in my garden, and will plant more. As always, I enjoy the variety and positive energy in your videos. :)

That's a gorgeous property and the furnishings very nice as well. The fireplace mantle that you questioned at 14:16 reminds me of the ones made of cast iron that have the marbelized painted surface.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love the symmetry of Federal style architecture. Washington Historic State Park here in Arkansas have many great examples for anyone wanting to visit our state. I believe this is property that we got a private tour of last year with Rusty Jenkins, the retired attorney/chancery court judge that gives tours of Dunleith. We saw so many that week. I believe he and his mother still live on the grounds . We met them at dinner at the Castle and hit it off.

The oak is beautiful. When you buy the home does it come with all the furniture. Love the Fireplaces. I love that it's all on one floor.

Possible the federal style mantle was originally parlor mantle and moved when parlor was “upgraded” ?
Very possible- or that room was the original parlor before the home was expanded. It’s all such a fun mystery

If I got it. In my dreams. I would put the Federal fireplaces back in. I think they are simple and elegant. I think the other ornate mantles look out of place and take away from the arch ways and other details in the room.
