Just curious to know. Actually, what % of the apparatus and equipment used in the Paris Olympics were made in China?

I would say most of it is. The rules around where a product is made (ex. made in _____) is rather murky. For example, I can claim a product is made in USA, but all the components are made in China, I am simply putting them together in the US, and spending money on marketing and development. As long as I demonstrate a significant enough portion of the product cost is incurred in the US, I can claim made in USA, even if it's basically made in China. I think what's significant in this Olympics is the number of Chinese made products coming from Chinese companies, basically cutting out the Western middle man.

A lot of it at Paris is Made in China. I say 95% of it, you name it, from drones to stuff animals, to lighting, too many to name. That is why people say China is the real gold medalist for this year's Olympics.

The thing is, no other country can manufacture at the volume and speed that China can. That’s why they continue to get these big event orders. Percentages? For Olympics souvenirs, probably above 70%. For Olympic equipment, depends on the event.
