After my hair was falling out for 5 months I started a thyroid supplement and extra iodine. It stopped my hairloss within 3 weeks or so. I’ve heard that iodine often gets a bad rap. At the same time a lot of the iodine we consume gets flushed out of our bodies through binding with chlorine, bacteria, and toxins and removing them. Likewise that makes less available for our thyroid to use. It is also important for our metabolism, brain function, nervous system, and bones. I’ve also heard people say it improves their energy levels. Whether or not iodine can help someone depends on a persons unique body chemistry and situation.
What thyroid suppliment did you take
The easiest thing I did was create a carnivore grocery list and order the same thing from costco every month. I ate any animal products I felt like cooking until I was full, and didn't eat if I wasn't hungry. If I ate 3 steaks a day and gained weight, I went down to 2 steaks a day. Once I figured out I could eat twice a day, feel full, and lose weight - I just kept eating the same thing everyday. I tracked out of curiosity to see my macros and i have it saved on my phone for days i eat different meats/fats that I normally dont buy so I stay on track. On weekends instead of eating out, that's when I do "different". like carnivore fried chicken with a cheese sauce or wings with a butter hot sauce. Regardless of what I eat always try to stay within the macros that I found worked. Right before my period im really hungry and that's the only time I eat sticks of butter. Still can't handle a whole stick, but I will put a nice slab ontop of my steak or eat a couple slices with my dinner. When I tried to eat butter every day like some of my favorite carnivore girlies, I gained. But if I eat pork/beef fat I can eat as much as I want and it just comes out the next morning if I ate too much, and I still lose weight.

Dani is the best! I really feel like she balances the extremes out there in the health space by keeping a practical focus on the individual and not being closed off by all the diet dogma.
I did the BHRT/Pellets two times and the second one I hated the feeling. I actually also hated not being able to get rid of them after insertion. Was Keto and decided to begin Carnivore to assist me with my symptoms as well as me coming off the BHRT. So far so good as hot flashes haven’t come back and still sleeping well (mostly) at night! Energy could be a bit better, but not bad!
Thank you for this interview Iodine supplementation tanked my T3 Iam on Armour thyroid now my symptoms were severe exhaustion and weight gain despite being carnivore for 17 months

I also got severe hot flashes and insomnia on iodine. Wondered if it made my thyroid function better and then the thyroid meds made body feel that I was hyper-thyroid???
That's entirely possible. I began taking iodine several months ago and my thyroid responded by increasing production. My doctor helped me decide on the right new dosage of my thyroid meds as a result. Hoping that over time my thyroid will continue to heal, so I keep close tabs on my thyroid labs.

My thyroid antibodies went up to almost 500 from 76 after starting to supplement with iodine. I really think I do need iodine bcs I have been eating non iodized salt forever but what to do when my antibodies goes up like that? 🤔(And also increased thyroid symptoms ofc. Not fun...)

My fasted glucose and ketones are usually around 75 and 3.0 ketones. I am gaining weight. What should I do?
1800-2000 cal 80ish g protein 170ish g fat under 15 carbs is about par for the course.

I've been finding this to be true... I can gain weight over consuming energy.. (carbs n fat) at a meal.. I do 16/8, 2MAD.
Iodine stops hair loss!!
Totally! It resolved my 5 months of hairloss within just a few weeks.
It can also cause hair loss too.

Not necessarily..I takes 2 drops of Lugals every day and it hasn't stopped my hair loss. I am also taking skin and hair vitamins and a scoop of collagen every day too. Nothing seems to help..😢
I was going to type not every woman can take HRT.
