    This is my fave trilogy. Such a great way to portray how humans are our own worst enemy. There wouldnt have been apes to overthrow if humans had not taken them unwillingly from their homes, tested on them, gave them drugs that enhanced their intelligence and mistreated them. And on top of that, you blame and punish the apes when they act as they should, as wild animals, and yet humans dont take any responsibility for their part in it

    I watched the older Planet of the apes movies also growing up! Also there was a T.V. show in early 70's I watched! I love the franchise!

    When Caesar spoke, the theater I was in when dead-quiet, like our souls had left our bodies and we were the inferior race humans are destined to be in this series, and I broke the silence with a loud, "YES!"

    The orangutan Maurice is named for Maurice Evans, who played the orangutan Dr Zaius in the original film.

    The 1968 film is the first thing I remember seeing on TV as a baby. And being a kid of the 70's I was raised on the film series, live action TV show & animated series. I now own all of it (except the video games and comics). I had the source material novel by Pierre Boulle (which Burton came the closest to) but it got stolen. I've always called myself a Star Wars kid, but really in actuality I was a POTA kid.
    Thanks again Nick & Jen for an epic review. I woke up sick this morning, so sipping tea watching your video brightened my day.

    Ooh, yeah! More Heston! Soylent Green, Ben Hur and The Ten Commandments!
    Still get goosebumps whenever I hear Serkis yell, "NOOOOOOOO!"
    Andy Serkis, to me, is a master of the motion capture style of acting! I thought so since his performance as King Bohan in Heavenly Sword (decent but short PS3 game also starring Anna Torv).

    This is an amazing trilogy, Caesar💚 is the best!!! ...love him to bits, hes a way better leader then most human leaders today. Hope u react to the other two.Caesar only bit the finger, it was still attached so that mean neighbour was lucky.
    Notice after all hes been through, Caesar has no first instinct or intention to kill humans or hurt people, just to free his apes. He never even killed the nasty Draco, he killed himself out of stupidity. Also the apes didnt kill any innocents, they just trashed a few offices and scared people tbf. You can see how heartbroken Caesar was to reject his human dad after he turned his back, its clear how hard it was for him & he continued using his window as his symbol on street signs afte r escaping. I always root for the apes, animals are true to their nature, & we betray ours.
    Also, Caesar can be infected again, so he also get even smarter when inhaling the 1.13 virus too, plus Caesar is way more intelligent since he had a proper human childhood education from Will.

    Hi, thankyou for reacting to the first movie in my favourite trilogy ever Rise of the planet of the apes. I love this trilogy and Ceasar. I hope you’ll react to parts 2 and 3 in the trilogy as they raise the bar even higher with Dawn of the planet of the apes and war for the planet of the apes. This franchise is criminally underrated and Andy Serkis who plays Ceasar is outstanding. Looking forward to you watching the next two and the continuation of Caesar’s story. Take care 😘🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Serkis didn't pioneer mocap, Max Fleischer did in the early 1900's, rotoscoping my dude. The greatest strides were in videogames long before Serkis' work, Pitfighter, Mortal Kombat, & Prince of Persia to name a few. The first virtual actor created with mocap was 1993.

    • @scottneil1187
      @scottneil1187 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Forgot about the pioneering work done in the 1880's which really was the beginning of mocap, there was even an experiment involving a man wearing balls stitched to a suit who was photographed moving in it, didn't really work but it's eerily similar to how modern digital mocap works, all before cinema!.

    You should have watched the original Charlton Heston one first. It's a classic on its own, but watching it after you watch the CGI heavy trilogy that has much better effects may dilute the impact of the original.

    It would be great if your mom could see at least the original Planet of the Apes, even though these later movies are prequels. The 1968 movie was excellent for its time.

  • @FrancisXLord
    @FrancisXLord 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Argh! You probably didn't realise when you chose to show this to your mum first that any film made after the 1968 original spoils the twist ending of that film. It's one of the greatest twist endings in cinema history and alas future generations will have it spoiled by watching the new films first. For the record there were five original Planet of the Apes films. The first then Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Escape from the POTA, Conquest for the POTA and Battle for the POTA. As for which I would personally recommend: the first (obviously), Escape from the POTA and Conquest for the POTA. In fact Rise of the Planet of the Apes is kind of a remake of Conquest, it's a prequel that tells the story of Caesar who instigates a rebellion against humans (sound familiar?).

    The funny thing is the neighbor never really did one thing wrong but his demeanor makes him so unlikable we dont mind all the stuff that happeen to him. For instance if you know anythng about Chimps you would react the same to one coming near your kids but because we know ceasar and his motives the neighbors actions make us dislike hin.

    • @kunglaoshat1250
      @kunglaoshat1250 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understood his reaction to Cesar around his kids because chimps can be incredibly dangerous. I would be scared to have one around my kids as well. The situation with Will’s dad I had less sympathy for the neighbor. Maybe it’s because I’ve worked with mentally challenged adults in the past (not the same as dementia but still vulnerable population) it was obvious from his behavior that Will’s dad wasn’t quite right. He seemed confused and afraid. The neighbor was way too aggressive towards an older person who was clearly in a vulnerable mental state. Even if he choose to call the cops he didn’t have to scare the poor guy. That said Cesar definitely went overboard with the attack.

    The only thing that bugs me is that primates lack the brain wiring, lips, and tongue needed for human speech. They can be very intelligent naturally, and perhaps some chemical could help their brain become more aware of their self and their ability and creative thinking. But it could not change their anatomy. Still, having him say NO is an amazing scene.
