I love the scene of Caesar refusing to go home. Because he’s begun to realize a gilded cage is still a cage. His old home had a window, but he could only leave it on a leash. He’s seen how his own kind suffer, and he can’t turn away from them now. It’s heartbreaking and powerful. It’s not simply that he has power, it’s about freedom and agency for himself and his people. It’s no accident that the first word he speaks is “NO.” No more abuse, no more imprisonment, no more control. They have been hurt, and they’ve had enough.
He was never abused by Will He loved him Hence why he doesn't hate all the humans, he knows there are good people too Unlike Koba who lived his whole life in torment and never actually seen any good from humans
@@gergopiroska5749 It's not a matter of if Will abused him or didn't, Will was the best human he could have gotten, but Will was limited in what he could do to help him and Ape-kind as a whole, the mere fact he couldn't take him outside without a leash is proof of that. There's a point where Caesar decided that he had to do a system-wide change

For the 2 other movies in this series, definitely watch with subtitles as sign language is primarily used between the apes! you'll miss a lot of dialogue and plot without them :)
Yea I'll never understand why subtitles for just the apes aren't hard coded onto the movie. It happens with other movies when someone is deaf or sometimes speaking a foreign language in an English movie and you are supposed to know what they are saying, but you have to turn on subtitles for the entire movie. At least give the option for subtitles for just the ape dialogue.
I'm interested, what platform are you guys watching on that the subtitles aren't automatically there during scenes where ASL is used? Every time I've watched these movies, subtitles have been off, but came on during the scenes with sign language.
Andy Serkis gave a performance of a life time playing Ceaser. They used the same tech that they used with Gollum where he wore a body suit for the movements and had a detailed facial capture.
I love watching the behind the scenes. I had no idea how this stuff was made. Andy Serkis and Tobey Kebell did so good! As did the other 3 or 4 who played all the apes.
I saw this is theaters, and when Caesar said "No!" the theater went dead-quiet, like our souls had left our bodies, and for a breif second, we felt like the inferior race humans always inevitably become in this franchise, and I broke the silence with a loud, "YES!!" and everyone clapped.
Nope, the first words were spoken in the original were by MAN, who said "keep your stinking paws off me you damn dirty ape". This movie plays off of that with Caesar's "NO" coming right after that line
I hope you had subtitles on for the last two movies. There are subtitles for the ASL, which you seem to have missed in this one. And yes, the original 5 are definitely worth watching.
How the heck did I miss this? I love this movie! The POTA trilogy is so underrated, it deserves more attention. Im glad you both saw this, seriously can’t wait to watch you watch the sequel!
I have a feeling the new trilogy with Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will end with "Planet of the Apes". The film that was considered the original. The first manned mission to Mars that was shown in the TV after the apes got the 113 from Caesar was a homage to the original. Charlton Heston was on the mission to Mars that took him to the Planet of the Apes before he saw the Statue on the beach. Rise, Dawn, and War are the Ceasar trilogy. The original with Heston one of the Apes (Dr. Sais I'm pretty sure I spelled it wrong) told him the first Ape to rise up was Ceasar when he told a Human "No!". Another Easter Egg that was included in this film. The new trilogy will probably end with the Mars Mission returning to Earth and the human on board having no idea what has happened or that hundreds of years have passed just like the original. Another random Easter Egg. The formula the Apes used 113 is also the running time of the original Charlton Heston film Planet of the Apes which was 113 minutes runtime.
Koba hates Jacobs because he was held captive in a lab like a worthless monkey but with the intelligence of a human wtf lol basically a prisioner serving as a lab rat not to mention Koba's past which explains all his scars that made him the monster he became in Dawn and waged war on humans.
I've always wondered if that tv segment of them going to mars then getting lost, is some easter egg to the original more or less. Like "These people will come back to a different earth".
Yes, they are in fact the astronauts that come back. The name of the ship is Icarus which was the name of the ship in the original. Although details got changed around. In the original, their mission was to find a new Earth and give humanity a fresh start (with 3 men and 1 woman mind you lol). If they end up coming back in Kingdom of the planet of the apes then they'll also be coming back drastically sooner than the astronauts in the original who came back 2,000 years later.
@Hal2718 having them come back soon is stupid, why do you want to rush to a remake of the original movie so bad? Why can't the apes just grow and evolve until it reaches the original film's time frame?
@@SupportGamin2025 When did I say that's what I want to happen? I was just exploring a possibility. Don't make assumptions. Great reactions as always. I love this movie and will never forget the chills I got when Caesar yelled "No!" Meanwhile, just a few answers in case it helps. First, JV, the apes hated the head of the facility (Oyelowo) because he had imprisoned them, treated them cruelly, and experimented on them. The fact that they got smarter didn't make them forgive him for that. As a fun detail -- if you notice in the final "day," James Franco's character looks pale and sick, with circles under his eyes. He is already sick with the virus, so Caesar's "goodbye" is also a final goodbye. And Jane, the guy who breathed it in was already dead the moment it happened. Even if he had instantly held his breath as fast as he could (which he couldn't, since he reacted involuntarily), that 1-2 seconds of breathing -- especially since it was super-concentrated -- doomed him no matter what. Looking forward to your reactions to the rest of the series -- it's a gorgeous trilogy, really well-done, and Andy Serkis and the other actors are fantastic.
A few things: 1 - The apes hate Jacobs because he used them for experiments. He oversaw their torture and abuse for years. “Making them smart” only made all the apes realize their oppression and decide to end the incarceration & torment. So that’s why he’s not particularly fond of caretakers. Stupid streaming and having translation subtitles reliant on having subtitles on for the whole movie! Definitely turn them on for the next two movies Maurice explained that he knew ASL from being in the circus. He also asked why Rocket was made to give out the cookies, which you basically understood the answer to. Apes alone, weak. Apes together, strong. Wait, you said you have subtitles on. Did you turn them on later or was the ASL not translated for some reason? Wow, you’re the only ones I’ve seen have sympathy for the neighbor 😂 I suppose he didn’t deserve as bad as he got, but he for sure had some anger issues, and he was irresponsible with his car. He left it open and unattended while he was in his house! Might as well leave a sign saying “Please steal my car” You have no idea the significance of that space mission that kept popping up. But you will if you watch the original 😉 I could’ve sworn there was a scene where Will looked in the fridge and saw the canisters were missing. But in the fridge were 3, and we only see 2 being used in the sanctuary. Apparently an earlier version of the script had Caesar and Rocket sneak into the zoo to gas those apes also, so that would explain why they’re also smarter and account for the third. I love LOVE this movie. Thank you so much for the reaction. But, thank you even more for saying "Calm down Stargate!" No one makes that connection except us Stargate nerds!!
The reason why they didn't tranquilize her, they take TIME to work and the officer had to think about the human lives first before the animals'. It's a sad event when something like this happens, but it's a harsh truth.
I really can’t believe some of things reactors say😂😂…”San Francisco is close to Canada”…”The virus wasn’t deadly…like it could wipe out humanity”…🤦🏽♀️I fear the future
Redwoods is a real place. It's a national park in California. 😂😂 Also Lost in Space was another popular tv show that was coming on some the same time as planet of the apes San Francisco is in California
I think ceasar was about to go with james franco when he came to take him back. Thats how much he actually loved james franco. But when he saw the leash in his hand, he realized that he would be mutual friends with james, he would get treated like a being that is eye to eye with him, but to the rest of the world he will still be seen just as a ”pet“. So he decided that living among his people, even if they are not on his intellectual level, would be better than as a „pet" with humans
Although it's not as good as these films, The Mark Wahlberg Planet Of The Apes is underrated and definitely worth watching. These films are a prequel, which is how the original run of films worked too.
I just wanted to tell you that the astronauts lost in space are the same astronauts we see in the original planet of the apes (1968). these movies are prequels to the original

fun fact the astronauts lost in space are part of the original planet of the apes movie, without spoilers all i'll say is they arent lost but come back to a very strange world
Please guys, watch the other 2 movies, it really worth it.
They are better than the first one.
Caesar is a fantastic character.
I love LOVE this movie. Thank you so much for the reaction. But, thank you even more for saying "Calm down Stargate!" No one makes that connection except us Stargate nerds!!
Ceaser is a great main protaganist
Kobe was torture d the entire time with humans. That's why his face is like that.
I hope you gone see all all parts because 4part is coming this year
The reason why they didn't tranquilize her, they take TIME to work and the officer had to think about the human lives first before the animals'. It's a sad event when something like this happens, but it's a harsh truth.
Great reaction! San Francisco is in California btw lol.
Heck yea! Best film of 2011!
42:10 No!!
I really can’t believe some of things reactors say😂😂…”San Francisco is close to Canada”…”The virus wasn’t deadly…like it could wipe out humanity”…🤦🏽♀️I fear the future
Do The Break-up or The Holiday. Thoae are some good romcoms
Redwoods is a real place. It's a national park in California. 😂😂
Also Lost in Space was another popular tv show that was coming on some the same time as planet of the apes
San Francisco is in California
“There’s a person in the line of fire!” When you don’t know how anything about guns 😂😂
Limitless is great. Ide for sure watch that reaction
youre such a family man lmao
I think ceasar was about to go with james franco when he came to take him back. Thats how much he actually loved james franco. But when he saw the leash in his hand, he realized that he would be mutual friends with james, he would get treated like a being that is eye to eye with him, but to the rest of the world he will still be seen just as a ”pet“. So he decided that living among his people, even if they are not on his intellectual level, would be better than as a „pet" with humans
Great reaction
Although it's not as good as these films, The Mark Wahlberg Planet Of The Apes is underrated and definitely worth watching. These films are a prequel, which is how the original run of films worked too.
I just wanted to tell you that the astronauts lost in space are the same astronauts we see in the original planet of the apes (1968). these movies are prequels to the original
I Been trying to tell people this for years but they never listen
Linitless is great, theres a show and a movie highly reccomend
I was wondering if you and Dos Cavazos could react to the first episode of Inuyasha, even though it may not be on their list.
Can you do A Quiet Place
Yeah
The monkeys not gorillas part is crazy💀
