Blue Mountain & Reading "Santa Claus" trains to Philadelphia in 1987 - 12/5 at Birdsboro - preceded by a westbound Conrail ZBB , and 12/12 at Pottstown. This traveled from Temple, PA to DeKalb St, Norristown - passengers would then take SEPTA to Market St. to shop for the day in Philadelphia. Cold December mornings made for nice steam clouds while running at mainline speed on the Conrail mainline.

Ohhh yeah!!😊 Fritzs ole Frisco 6 chime whistle!! Loved this whistle. 2102 hasnt carried it since these trips😞 Boy do I miss those DL&W coaches in Reading Pullman green they looked and weathered so much nicer than the Lehigh Valley Red they’re in now. Once weathered they’re the Pepto Bismol cars they look awful.
