- This heavy metal journey has been something I never expected to enjoy so much. If somebody had said me to me this time 6 months ago that I was going to end up falling in love with heavy metal I'd think they were lying. I am so glad I decided to react to Master Of Puppets. In my opinion, I think it is one of the best albums of all time. There are not many albums where I like every song on it. Master Of Puppets though has just hit me differently. Not only have I really enjoyed the Metallica journey. The love and support I have received since doing it has been unreal. Thank you all for following the journey so far and make sure to stick around. This is only the beginning.
Here is my reaction to hearing Metallica - Damage, Inc. for the first time. I hope you like it!

Damage Inc. is *the* best last song of an album ever
Smacks you right in the face, doesn't even start to ask for permission.
"You're all done now, leave now - or else...." - God I love that song so much.
Dyers eve is way better imo
@@MolecularBear Eve is more technical, but this 'hits harder' due to the mix difference between the two albums. Dyers Eve is a classic though.
You started with the best metal album of all time, imo. No bad songs, no filler. Pure excellence from start to finish.
Yeah! Unfortunately... it's all downhill from here! Not Metallica- everything. This is the one album I'm taking to the island.
Amen, from a 52 year old metal fan.
Pantera though.....
@@SavageDawgJoshua I'd be fine putting Vulgar at #2
Hard to argue that.
Still one of the best lines of any song EVER, "living on your knees conformity or dying on you feet for honesty".
Sounds like the theme of the Democrats
@@eazye519Sounds like a theme for anyone who thinks that any politician is there for YOU
Lieber stehend streben als kniend leben🙋🏻♂️🇩🇪🤘
@@eazye519Bro, at this point I'm absolutely certain it's both sides of the aisle running a train on us. I think the line from Unleash The Bastards (Municipal Waste) "Rise up, but its too late. You should have stood up when you had the chance." is most applicable to where we are today.
First 3 Metallica albums are nothing to fuck with! Then cliff dies in a freak bus crash and …and justice is just a lot of pain then the black album was like a masterpiece of American rock music. After that they lost me.
In 2015, Master of Puppets became the first metal recording to be selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.
That's all!!!!!
that is truly awesome. good thing they didn't hear So What
“‘what is that?” That is Cliff Burton, the master, the legend, singing with his bass to the heavens. RIP Cliff, we miss you.
Can you even imagine, being in the studio recording this masterpiece of metal, being ANY of the four there, and watching your band mates, taking in the fact that you are surrounded by fucking legends in their craft.
49 year old here, and for me, there is nothing more interesting or telling of a man's personality than his record collection. So I say do a show and tell!
Call of Ktulu is a must listen!! So evil and menacing!
Yes Yes Yes. Put that on repeat. Flawless
“Steam roller action crushing all, victim is your name and you shall fall” classic!!!
I don’t know if anybody mentioned this yet, but that beginning is an intro written by Cliff Burton the bassest. It’s him using heavy gain and delay while doing volume swells with the volume knob.
I did not know that...thank you for sharing that info.!😊
"F it all and Fing no regrets. Never happy endings on these dark sets" Love it!! An absolute face melter!! 🤘🤘
agreed I wonder if damage inc has the most "fuck"s in it, probably not, but two at once makes it seem like it lol
Kirk's bridge riff is my all-time favorite Metallica riff. It's so menacing.
🤘
it's actually insane
Fun fact. The whisper of Damage, Inc. is Cliff Burton the legendary bass guitar of Metallica. May he rest in peace
Really?? I always swore it was james
@@ninasbbm5133it is James
It's really not.
God rest his Soul.
I think I'm not exxagerating saying he was the musical soul of Metallica.
After his death Metallica started dying slowly while the next two Albums. The final burst was the "Black" Album imo.
Damn I get old. I bought this vinyl when I was 12 in 1984 and also saw them many times. 😂 The 80's were great. Metallica, Maiden, Nucleair Assault, Judas Priest, Motorhead, ACDC, MEGADETH, Slayer, Van Halen, Saxon, Antrax and many many more. Great reaction sir, much love from Holland
MOP wasn't released until 1986.
I was 12 in 1986 when it was actually released ,are you a fan or a poser😂😂😂
I'm with ya. I was 15, and you can believe we cruised around blaring this on Friday nights.
1972🤘
This album is an absolute masterpiece. Damage, Inc is underrated too, but it’s a helluva way to close an album.
It makes me laugh when Megadeth fanboys say that Rust in peace is better
To me, Damage inc has always been the song that represented the soul of Metallica. I don't know why. Haven't been able to work that out since the 80's. But that's my opinion
@@jochencooper2751
Tbh, for all the obvious talent. Megadeth doesn't work. Megadeth sucks
@@jochencooper2751 Rust in Peace is a masterpiece in its own right, I just don’t think that it is quite as good as Puppets.
@@bobhawke7373 I wouldn't say they suck but they are just not as good as Metallica
Disposable Heroes is a must from them. For me, their best song🤘🔥
So you’re the other one who feels the same as me!
And me. Metallica's finest moment on thier finest album.
Orion
Welcome to the metallica family my man 🤟🤘🤟🤘 I'm listening 25 years and have seen them live 7 times
At the start. That is Cliff Burton on his bass guitar my friend
Yes the intro, is THE MAJOR RAGER ON THE FOUR STRING MOTHER FU(KER!!!!!!
I'd like to think that this song is played when the Navy Seals (or ANY elite fighting force) are plummeting out of the sky on their way to a one-sided victory.
This song (hell....the whole album, really) is a speeding ticket waiting to happen.
Congrats on 15K+ subs! That went by quick.
Told you that “Damage Inc.” would take you apart 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘. I saw them live in Copenhagen June 2022 playing “Damage Inc.” The crowd just went crazy 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Was waiting for you to do this one - it didn't disappoint. The ferocity of this song live (especially in their prime) was really something. You now understand why this album is so important in the history of heavy metal and can feel when it elevated Metallica (and thrash) to another level. By the time of ...And Justice For All and their breakout performance of One at the Grammy awards they were off to superstardom, but these early years they truly were a force of nature.
On a side note, I gotta say props to you first opening your mind and enjoying your music journey through ALL genres. Jackson, Eminem, Metallica, Travis Scott, Linkin Park. That's DIVERSE for a young person these days. Reminds me of when I was young - I would listen to anything and everything.
Fuck, I'd love to sit down with you and play you some stuff that would blow your mind. I can imagine it's quite hard to choose what direction to listen to next. I see a lot of comments pointing you in the direction of a lot of bands. Some of them, were you to listen to them would put you off the bands. It's quite important to start in the right place - I think you understand that.
Enjoy your journey. Love your videos. So much killer music from that era to listen to - trust me.
Thanks for the nice comment man! I’m glad you enjoy the videos!
And that my friends, is how metal is done. My favorite thrashy Metallica song of all time.
Imagine seeing them live and this is the opening song. Absolute carnage in the pit. I was 17 and I wasnt ready. Everyone exploded.
Roger fucking that brother! GO!
Imagine being 13 in 1994 and finding this vinyl in your parent’s collection. Metallica was my gateway into Metal and Pantera was my hymn.
And now, start from the very beginning : Hit the lights, from their first album Kill 'Em All! 🤘🏻 Happy new year btw. Keep up your great youtube videos!✊🏼
Dude, I am a lifelong Uber-Metallica Fan, and while Puppets is the masterpiece, and Justice is the most difficult, and Ride the Lightning has the songs I connected with the most; if I could have one album on vinyl, it would be Kill em All, bc that shit is just fun to listen to! Js. Keep up the good work homie🤘
I totally agree, Kill Em All is so fun to jam to
KEA - my favorite album to listen to from start to finish.
YEEEEEEEAHHHH Bro finally you react to this SONG,is CRAZY👊🤘
Ohhh, I remember mosh pits on this banger in 86' we were so invested in thrash metal!! The pure energy & aggression was Lit 🔥 it was a piece of history. I have those memories forever! Yes, I'm old af! 😂 thats okay & cool. I've been truly blessed to have seen the birth of Thrash, Grunge and new metal!! If that's not Amazing, then I don't know what is!!! 🤘❤️🔥
This album came out on my seventeenth birthday
Show them later that year opening up for ozzy
Is one of the greatest concerts i've ever been to
I saw them with Ozzy that year too!! Lucky us! I just turned 21 when MOP dropped like a sludge hammer!! ❤️🔥🤘🤘
@bill9605 It was my 16th birthday on March 3rd 1986 ,what a great day for metal that was
@bill9605 I saw them on that tour opening for Ozzy, too! My first time for them (up to 12 now!) and unfortunately the only time with Cliff. That was also the first time I did X.....lost my frigging mind 🤘🤘🤘🤘
You lucky bastard!! I envy those 80’s pits! I didn’t get to see them till 98’
Fuck it all and fucking no regrets 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Been listening to this song since 86 and it never gets old..neither does the album..im 52 and still rocking seen these 15 times there still the kings of metal
oh yeah I'm down for this one. Love it.
Those bass fade ins in the beginning...perfecto!
Love, love love seeing new fans discover this band. BTW the intro is Cliff on bass.
Amazing band I was lucky enough to see this tour in 86’. Amazing bro.
I was a rap fan when I was a kid, my buddy took me to a Metallica concert in 92 and my whole music interests changed. He showed me Pennywise and it was over. I'm 46 and still listen to punk. My #1 preset is faction punk on SXM
While the road of music has been long. I have slowly found what my daughter's tastes are in the old school music of thier father and grandmother. Universally, Punk is popular with both their tastes. The Ramones get requested a lot.
They haven't quite gotten into The Sex Pistols, DK or The Exploited yet. But give um time 😂
I think you being a rap kid you would really enjoy korn...and thanks for another great reaction. Your literally digging thru my childhood with these songs 🤘👿🤘
I’m glad the younger generation is buying vinyl. My daughter is a huge fan. Nothing like analog sound. My grandmother bought me my first for Christmas 69…Creedence Clearwater Revival. 2000+ albums later I still love vinyl.
I was probably younger than you when this came out, bought the vinyl then all my mates learnt the songs by heart before we went to see them performing it live in the Ulster Hall here in Belfast, think it was '86. Seeing you hold up your vinyl copy makes me smile. 🤘
The most aggressive and amazing guitar solo of metallica was frayed end of sanity of and justice for all. That was amaziiiiiiiinnnngggg. That heavvvvyyyyyy
I have always thought of the bass intro as the calm before the storm.
Greatings from Portugal. I'm just gonna leave this here...
"Metallica's Master of Puppets has become the first heavy metal album to be added to America's National Recording Registry.
The government-run library picks 25 recordings judged to be "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant". It keeps the best-quality originals to safeguard for future generations."
BBC News, 24 March 2016
"Fuck it all with fucking no regrets!" Love that line! One of my all time favorite songs. Ever.
I've long said Damage Inc is THE best album closer ever and is the fitting end to Cliff's masterpiece.
7:37 gotta love the stank face hahaaaa. That riff right there, it’s the hardest riff I’ve ever heard. It’s so underrated throughout the Metal community and I’m sorry but imho puts Kirk Hammett above Dave Mustaine… who if you don’t yet know, Dave was replaced by Kirk and I’ve always thought that Kirk’s riffs are more hardcore and his solo’s are better too. Everyone all up on Dave’s nutz cuz it’s the trend today.
My favorite Metallica song ever. I bought this album when it came out and this still gets my heart racing.
"The Four Horseman" and "Metal Militia" off the Kill 'em All album are awesome too!
congrats on finishing your first Metallica album young metal head 🙌🏽🙌🏽 looking forward to watch your journey through all of them. I advise you go through them in chronological order see how the band progressed and what they experimented with and if you like that progress. What I would like to see (and obviously you don’t need to care about what i like) is you picking your favorite song of the album and letting us know why i’d like to pick your brains on that, it’s going to be tough especially for this album.
When u hear Dyers Eve... u will be blown away too.... these guys are the BEST.... METALLICA... FAN4LIFE🤘🏽😎
Anesthesia/ Pulling Teeth off Kill 'Em All, an instrumental that sounds like a guitar but us actually a distorted bass! Sick as 👌🤘🤘
You MUST react to this Live!! Omg, its amazing live! 👏 🤘🤘
Isn't Metallica Awesome! There will never be another band like this one. So many will try but will always fall short. Not trying to be insulting because there's a lot of talent out there but these guys reign supreme!
Agreeing 100 pct 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Speaking of "Reign Supreme", you should hear Dying Fetus!
When I went through your videos of Metallica, Damage, Inc. was the one I had to see!
Fun fact....they did the intro using the volume knobs on theyre guitars, fading in and out
Best Metallica song...heavy af
Great reaction thanks 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
You like guitar solo's? Now its time to react to the first album, Kill em All. And the second album Ride the Lightning. There are many more songs as fast as Damage Inc.
That album is still the pinnacle of metal. There was before Master of Puppets and then they defined metal to this day after it came out.
Man you have become my favorite youtuber. You seem like a genuine person ans i love watching you experience new music especially the mighty Metallica
Thank you very much! I appreciate that!
Hey mollyboy, I've watched all your metal reaction videos, and yup you started with arguably one of the best metal bands to ever grace us with perfection. Your journey has just began my friend. You have the bug. Only a few of us have the ability to let music bring us tears of enlightenment. And if Metallica has that effect on you, then you definitely got the bug. If you want a good live show to check out, watch Metallica--" Live Sh*t, Binge and Purge. Enjoy....
Damage Inc is incredible! I was lucky enough to see them play it live two years ago and it was amazing. Maybe you could check out one of their recent live performances of it. The guys have aged like fine wine. Glad you're enjoying your Metallica journey so much my friend🤘
as a full album to do... Tool Lateralus is one i can sit and listen to the whole thing from start to finish
Oh dude, so fun to come across this video. I'm an old MetalheaD who got into some raps along the way :D
Don't forget Dyers Eve Molly Boy
But that's on And Justice for All...even though it was almost completely done before AJFA. And making it Cliff Burtons last piece of music that he would write.
RIP Cliff❤️🔥🤘🎸
@@Metal_Mary I think you're confusing Dyers Eve and To Live Is To Die re: Cliff's involvement.
Oh my goodness! My favorite Metallica song without a doubt. It has the hardest riff I’ve ever heard. That part in the middle there is just mush, chefs kiss. I’m quite surprised you got to this one so early on your journey cuz usually it’s one of the last songs reactors listen to on this album.
Can you even imagine, being in the studio recording this masterpiece of metal, being ANY of the four there, and watching your band mates, taking in the fact that you are surrounded by fucking legends in their craft, creating some of the best music of all time.
THe ERA..!!!!!! Metallica FOREVER
Hi bro I need to say that you are making very good reactions👌 I really like them.
Thank you so much 😀
This song is a musical master piece.
Disposable Heros and Damage Inc are easily in the top 10 Metallica songs of all time, IMO. Check out some Exodus, Kirk Hammett's band before Metallica. Bonded by Blood is one of the best Thrash metal albums ever.
Thatz it. I love how u totally be urself and react in a way that realize the art put in that vinyl shit. So cool man. Btw, Im really looking forward for ur KEA and AJFA(I feel like you’ll go crazy wth this one) reactions. Cheers!
Oh to be young and experiencing Master of Puppets for the first time!! Keep going!!
Welcome to the "METAL MILITIA"!!!! ❤🤍💙
Blood Will Follow Blood Dying Time Is Near - Damage Inc 🤘🤘
Megadeth Rust in Peace is one of the great metal albums that’s definitely worth checking out.
That particular song will melt your face off.....
Damage Inc is my all time favourite MetallicA song. Perfect album. Along with Cypress Hill Temples of Boom, Corrosion of Conformity Wiseblood and AC⚡DC Powerage. All flawless albums. 🤟✌
After "And Justice For All" you should open your mind, really open. Don't expect the same rifs, solos, intensity, etc, this last three albums have.
I'm sure you'll enjoy this different Metallicas era. If you liked the band more than this type of heavy metal (thrash metal), you'll enjoy knowing much better this fucking amazing guys! 🤘🏻🎶
Maybe you can continue with the Black Album from 1991, then you have the Load, Reload, Garage Inc, SyM I. But don't forget the first album, "Kill'em All" form 1983.
If this is what you expected Metallica to sound then the kill ‘em all album is what you need!!!
I commend you on doing an audio only version. I am a new reaction channel, and I get a lot of negativity when I do a reaction to an audio only song. Keep doing what you do, this is an excellent reaction. By the way, Damage Inc. is my favorite Metallica song.
Its time to start another journey in to Slayer discography!
Slayer on their reign in blood tour was probably the greatest I’ve ever seen. And I saw Metallica with Anthrax supporting them the year before and they took some beating. I was deaf for a week after Slayer
Slaaaaayer !
When this came out i was in jr. high and it was MIND-BLOWING. Ive loved them my entire life.
Rap fan not only liked it but bought the album as well. I love it.
Now you're like the rest of us, having already heard this album lol. The experience is still like 90% as intense the next time you hear it though 😁 loved watching you react to this album!
🤠
completely nuts!🤩🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Words to this one are epic!
Yeah that’s a good one
Damage Inc. Was the name of Al Capones' linch mob
i love the BRO at 6:25 ... followed by the Windows loadup sound as you struggle to for a thought... yup been there =)
One of my favorites
Back when this came out there was a smaller fan base - compared to now ..
This was our band - meaning the main stream hadn't found them yet. The good ole days 🤘🤘
I'm going on 48 years old and I've been a Metallica fan since I was a teenager. Seen them live twice. There's a reason that they are the longest surviving and still recording metal band in history. However, you should check out Godsmack. They've been around for a while and opened for Metallica back in the 2000's. I love your reactions and I love to see young people appreciate an old metal band for the greatness that they are.
It's been great watching your reactions to these, kinda similar to my own lol I was also blown away when I first heard Master Of Puppets... If you wanted to hear a different side of Metallica definitely check out stuff from Load and Reload, those were basically hard rock albums instead of metal but there are still some gems in those albums (songs like Fuel, Until It Sleeps, King Nothing, etc) - You could also check out the Unforgiven trilogy, they're all really good songs
Great reaction buddy! I'm jealous of you cause I can't relive my childhood first time hearing this lol ( I'm old yeah). Anyway, always great to see people hearing this great album for the first time an appreciating it. Did I read earlier your getting ready to dabble in Slayer next??? Not their typical song, but please consider "Crionics" off their first album. Deep cut, not their typical key, but you'll enjoy!
Yeah I’ll be uploading Slayer soon
Yeh that intro is all bass guitar. Cliff button was something really special. RIP
It's the GREATEST heavy metal album of all time, ever, for a reason 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just recently subscribed. "Metal"... Many types of "Metal" exist. But like there is only one God, there is only one band that are "The Gods of Metal"... Black Sabbath. Rock on 🤘🤘
The intro is a four part bass harmony with some amazing effects.
From many friends in the military, they say Commanders blast Metallica before going into battle
Great review and yes this music was just as cool when you lived it !
One of their best IMO
Glad you liked the whole album. When I was a teen and this come out, my father loathed it cause I played it on repeat on vinyl. Wore out 3 copies I loved it that much, put me on the road to Thrash,Speed and Death/Black metal genre. Great times. 30 years later, he walked in to the studio with me listening to this, he sat there until the album finished and simply said. That was always a good album, and he's into Country & Western as his fav
I think you'd also like Sepaltura too
RIP Cliff
