    I used to watch these videos for his voice but as I actually started to listen to his words, rather than the voice, especially when he mentions a “time of torment” as I can relate to it. Many thanks for these talks. It makes me comfortable knowing I’m not the only one going through troubling times.

    When I started watching your videos, I watched to hear your wisdom, but I’ve since been trying to understand what it means. Having gone through depersonalization and derealization in the recent months, I now understand COMPLETELY what you mean. What before seemed like some hidden wisdom I would only learn when I’m old, now feels like a complete cure to my wrestless mind. I can’t thank you enough

    Awesome theme to speak on, we live in a confusing world and most of the time we need to literally and mentally take our shoes off and fell the Earth beneath out feet, nature surrounding us and just be still for a moment! Love you two xoxoxoxox

      People wonder why they feel so de-stressed when they take their shoes and socks off for a walk in the beach and feel the sand between their toes. Apparently there are different charges between Body and Earth, was reading it is good for us to feel the earth with our feet and can even have health benefits. But yes I agree with everything you are sayin. It's funny because I happened to see your channel about 20 minutes before seeing your comment on this video. Ha. X

    Thanks you for inspiring me to write this truth John : As a kid, Danny loved climbing onto roof tops. Other kids from the neighborhood would come and cheer. ''Look!’ 'they’d say, ''It’s Danny! He’s on the rooftop!''. One day, Danny fell and broke his leg. The other kids stopped coming 🙁. Still, Danny kept trying to climb onto rooftops. After years of climbing and falling and climbing and falling again, little Danny finally realized that it was best to just keep his feet on the ground. After all, that is where God is 😊.

    So many people seem to have come to this channel for ASMR (still not sure what that stands for) but I came to it through the 'buddha at the gas pump' channel, which is a channel for spiritual talks and after years of listening to Eckhart Tolle, Mooji etc. I feel people who are just here for ASMR are really missing out. Although the other spiritual speakers seem less religious this guy is still saying the same thing as they are. Very good stuff here if one really listens and practices what is being spoken. By observing them, as if they don't belong to you. Or as Eckhart Tolle says, by not identifying with them. They're not who you truly are nor do they belong to you. They're a culmination lifetimes of suffering. If you're not able to simply let them be, nor to detach from them, or they're so deeply ingrained, I'd suggest getting healing or simply asking for healing. One simple way is asking a spiritual master you deeply trust, such as Jesus Christ. They use this prayer in Spring Forest Qiqong healing: Dear God, dear Heaven, dear Universe, dear Master, please send the healing power of your love to completely heal my mind, my body, my soul. Thank you Amen

    Feet on the ground, listen and look
    See the beauty in the world, in every nook
    Embraced by a loving, divine presence
    Find stillness and let go of your pretense
    Like fish in the sea, swimming free
    We too are a part of this grand tapestry
    But too often we're lost in our own mind
    Blinded to the love that's all around, confined
    So come to your senses, feel the embrace
    Allow yourself to be in this sacred place
    Find peace and tranquility, let it be your guide
    And know that you're loved, on every side
    So take a deep breath, and let it all in
    And know that you're a part of something greater than sin
    Feet on the ground, listen and look
    And you'll find the love that's been there all along, in every nook.

    I love these videos. I'm always intrigued by John's answers to each question, and I enjoy his spirituality and relaxed nature. No doubt that's one of the reasons why the ASMR community is embracing him. I also enjoy the Bakewell church as the standard venue, though for a church it does tend to get a bit noisy at times. Even Phil joked about moving the furniture at the onset of the video. And then there was what sounded like some sort of alarm that started going off at 1:51 and I believe continued for the duration. May that have been John's car alarm?

    If we didn’t think, we wouldn’t be unhappy, and thought is just an illusion. Become present, break the illusion and peace will be waiting behind the illusion. This works because the mind is based in an illusory past and future and it takes you outside of the only true reality which is all around you in every ongoing present moment.

    There's a method advised to me by a wise shaman, she said put your feet on the ground & like a tree, imagine roots going deep into earth, anchoring you. It's not as easy as it sounds. I can do it once or twice but then can't for some reason. It's good to feel like a tree though, you're anchored & the wind (life & it's problems), may push your leaves & branches around but you're rooted in earth.
    PS. You can even do this from 10th floor, doesn't have to be on ground. It's mentally healing

    • @markj7612
      @markj7612 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Olivia j: When I was young, I was terribly lonely, but as I traveled the spiritual path, as described by John Butler and Eckhart Tolle, I ceased to be lonely. We can be whole within ourselves, with the Divine Presence, and in being whole, not dominated by ego (identity with thought), we can be truly happy in relationship with others. Loneliness suggests that we can't find what we need within oneself, but that isn't true. I think that Don Milo has it right.

    Why does the wave again and again forgets that it's the ocean.
    When the ocean is still it is enjoying the stillness and presence of the spirit but when there is turbulence and waves generated the ocean gets identified with the waves (only for that moment) again after the wave is subsided it sees it is the ever changing ocean but why does the ocean at that moment forgets its nature ?

      Hi Amy (fellow Scouser). I first met John through his book 'Wonders of Spiritual Unfoldment' which I came across 'by accident'. I devoured it. I noticed on his website he lived in Bakewell - only an hour away. So I phoned and visited. After a hug we meditated on the hill overlooking Bakewell and I stayed the night in an abandoned stone shepherds hut and meditated with him again in the morning. After, having coffee by the river, I was reading Elif Shafak's book 'Forty Rules of Love'. One rule was "it only takes a moment to make decision that changes your life." I decided to move to Bakewell. Phil

      Hi phil firstly thankyou so much for even replying back to me!! Wow a fellow scouser hey to be honest you dont get many on youtube the ones you do get unfortunately 9 out of 10 times they dont portray us very well but hey were not all like that!! What part of Liverpool are you from? I am from childwall and i still live here in childwall a stones throw away from the m62 literally.
      That is amazing how you and john met and you have had the honour in meditating with him, myself i am absolutely not religious i am absolutely an atheist and i am very happy with that belief i but equally and this is the big one i am all for of someone believes in god or a particular energy i am 100% behind them if someone wants to go to church and pray fantastic id fight for that for anyone one of my sayings is... (if your not harming anyone go for it, But its not for me and dont force it on me keep it to yourself) thats just my little motto, I follow yours and Johns channel for the relaxation element to it the exact same way i listen to David Attenborough the 3 of your voices are amazing! You should do more talking in the videos also maybe ask each other questions im sure it would be appreciated by your fans! I am not on facebook or twitter anything like that but if you want to email me and we could get a chance to talk i would be absolutely honoured. Well give my love to john and thankyou again for getting back to me but also just thankyou for taking the time trouble and effort in making these videos i really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart all my love Amy from Liverpool xx

    The way he says "battle" " war" "demonic forces" "resist not evil" he sounds like a god from ancient times

    I love the video, but I would turn down the interviewer's voice a little bit. The volume difference is annoying to me.

    Is this a Monty python skit? I kept waiting for "no one suspects the Spanish Inquisition!" to bust in from off camera.

    I don't understand where he got the idea that most of the people lived in caves in Jesus's lifetime. He himself was a literally a multi-generational carpenter. Hell they had literal freaking cities.

    People, please actually do as he says. Don't be one of those 'new-age', feel-good, idiots who jump around from fuzzy to fuzzy without actually experientally understanding what meditation trully means to consciousness.
    John is a facet, just as any mystic you may know on the internet, books or personally. You must be your own entheat, your own exegete. Nothing on this current age is more important than experience; profound, inward movement.

    Abandon the Climb and Concede Defeat.. Don't fall for that passive attitude that has pervaded much mainstream spiritual thought.. The Climb towards Self Mastery is your Birthright.. Do the work - find your direction - you'll find your wings - all else will fall into place..

    • @SpiritualUnfoldment
      @SpiritualUnfoldment  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mmm ... not sure about that. Climb? Mastery? Work? John often likens the practice of meditation to Surrender. Sounds somewhat different to me. Phil

    • @kindredspirit6654
      @kindredspirit6654 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Point was making: In much spiritual thought there is this passive attitude - one of surrender.. Meaning abandon the climb. Consequently many so called spiritual people become weak and lazy - conditioned by this surrender mentality.. The practice of Meditation is something different: In meditation it's necessary to surrender (let go) of the thinking mind in meditation. (Something different)
