I used to use voicemod, but it took up a ton of CPU and memory on my pc, but Clownfish does neither of those, and doesn't have any annoying advertisements!
clownfish is just simpler

Heyo. I didn't see this answered so I thought I'd chime in. I think the 'silence' button might be an 'Oh crap!' button. Some of the audio software I work with has this feature. If an effect (like an echo) goes squirrely and starts to feedback on itself, or if a sound/effect hangs, having a reset saves you having to completely restart the program :)
Great overview by the way. I wasn't familiar with the software, but it looks amazingly robust.
Mine wasn't working with the USB mic. I did what you said: Unplugged the usb mic, exited clownfish, then plugged in the mic and restarted clownfish. Thanks for the help!

I'm having a problem and already make some mess in this app. I can hear my voice changes but when I'm talking to my friends they say they can hear my original voice. I only used one microphone and no other drivers installed.

glad it works for you, but for me, it's the most crashy, buggy and unstable software I've EVER used. Near impossible to do ANYTHING without it freezing or crashing
is their only a exe file because i used the portable edition of OBS not sure where to find a zip file

My mic keeps going in and out when I put on the voice changer. When I take it off the voice changer and go onto discord to check my voice my real voice is fine. What do I do?
Jamel, the software is very unstable. The plan was to make 3 more videos on this software but it was so buggy I stopped. I suggest looking for a better alternative. This software is garbage.
Clownfish made my mic pick up the output audio from my headset. How do i reset the cmd that clownfish did when you installed it?

Yeah, I was planning on making like 4 Clownfish videos. After working with the software for an amount of time I too concluded that the program is just too damn buggy.
Yeah I did everything and it did not work like it shows it’s using my mic but when I talk I can’t hear any of the affect

I'm not a fan of the software. I was going to make several videos about the software but I stopped. It's not super stable.
@@ScottFichter it's so unreliable that I just the other day replaced it using a combination of obs and voice meter potato. It's a shame since obs doesn't support 32 bit vst plugins. I just wish there was an easy solution to what I need.

is it dangerous to install as it deletes the standard coding for how mics work? so for example if i wanted to uninstall clownfish, would i need to re install the original coding or will it just work as it did before?

Some people have great success with Clownfish, others (like you) have problems with it. I found it to be very unstable. I bailed on making more videos about it for this reason.
When I go to download it, instead of the black box automatically doing what it did for you, it pops up and says this:

I'm worried to press 'Y' as it says everything relying on the audio service will stop, but then I guess it replaces the program then like you said? Please get back to me, I'm not very computer techy and have been excited to mess around with voice changers since I got a PC xP

Initially based on the number this video tanked. But now it's starting to take off slowly but surely. I do have a few more in the can but they are unedited. YT is a energy allocation game. Put your time into something that yields no attention and the entire channel tanks. I will get back to this subject down the road. I see now that the subject is solid.

that's what people need a 3 minute tutorial on how to install a program they already have. youtubers are terrible.
The male to female always sound terrible on these programs and apps. It's like chipmunks, just pitch it up, there is more nuance to a voice that simply pulling the pitch up/down. Too bad AI software like Respeecher is so dang expencive. If you would like to as, an example create voice for characters in movie you made in blender or just machinema stuff. Hopefully this tech gets more affordable and abundant in the future. Edit: I mean absolutely no offence if you are the programmer behind this software, i does have its place for sure.
