I love them so much , they look so good ,good job mate , keep up the good work because this army feels so much like the end of the heresy era with the marines looking in the first stages of warp corruptions .
The trick, at least to me, is not to think of it as 3k points but as a unit at a time. And if there is a gaming environment that plays HH and Zone Mortalis is played, then 1-1.5k points is an easier goal to work towards as a base :)
Thanks! :) Wasn't it you that requested an update on the project a little while back? Cause I think that was what got me thinking "it has been a while since I have shown any of it" :)
Awesome! I bet Iron Warriors look killer in this same style. I can imagine the grind of attritional warfare with the replacement parts and the grizzled veteran look! 😲
As somehow who's got an early pre butchers nails world eaters army. I love the effort into adding more heresy bits in, late heresy world eaters (like the siege of terra) should be one of the more ornate proto-chaosy legion. World Eaters basically just grabbed whatever armour and gear they could find off the battlefield at the end of the heresy, they were so nuts they probably didnt even care about having armour at all at that point. Also man heresy era pistols are so damn hard to come across and I never really cared about those tiny things. Amazingly looking stuff man, giving me some great inspiration! Made a 10 man redhand squad after your vid
Awesome! I do envy you the early style of world eaters / war hounds, maybe I will make some cleaner and less corrupted additions to the army one day, with Endryd painted in the legion colors to lead them hehe. Happy to hear that you made some red hands too! How did they turn out and what base did you use for them? 😁
@@TomsHobbyAdventures I'm an absolute sucker for war hounds! I've done a command squad of them and a couple vehicles. I got a destroyer and rampager squad, then just mixed up all the bits. Red hand always seemed like a mix of the two units to me and it turned out great

@@yhelanat I thought about my earlier reply, and you dont have to wait to start out and then get it all in one go, a little at a time will be a much more pleasent journey. With Word Bearers especially you can use a lot of 40k Chaos models and parts due to their heavy and early corruption. Can probably start for cheap with some used 40k models from facebook markedplace or something. In any case, Word Bearers will feature on the channel if you need inspiration. Hopefully in the near'ish future.

@@TomsHobbyAdventures fair enough. If you don't end up doing Kargos, the Visions of Heresy art of Kharn in grey armour has him with the bunny ears and hair tails decoration, it may be a good source of inspiration for a conversion
Yeah that grey version of Kharn and his armor has always had a speciel place for me. Not sure what bits I would use for it, but I might consider doing such a version of him, I'll let it run around in the back of my brain and see what happens hehe
I've really enjoyed watching this series. It's a shame there are models you feel you cant use. Could you possibly bring in the Hellbrute and Possessed as Bound Daemon allies?
I'm glad you have enjoyed it, and I hope I can find some more topics to add to the series of conversions anyway :) The Possessed and Hellbrute I could use as Daemon allies for sure, it would be very thematic. I was also thinking of converting the Possessed to the new Eightbound thing in 40k, in case I ever feel like playing 40k again. And in that configuration I could still just use them as Daemon allies in Heresy. In any case I think I will eventually paint up all the rest that isnt convertable and possibly use them in a campaign scenario, that is sort of what is brewing in the back of my mind at the moment. In any case, I really appreciate the suggestion and I might just try using them as bound daemon allies :D
All my armies are pre primarchs amd their original legion names. (Except my 425th destroyer army) I have 1500 points of war born aka ultra marines 3200 points of war hounds aka world eaters (my 2nd fav legion thst ties into my next and favorite legion due to lore) Imperial heralds aka word bearers. The lore that ti3s the imperial heralds to the war hounds made me l9ve the legion so much more and I made my own customers argal tal amd kharn models. My imperial heralds is about 4000 points.
@@tebusan6217 That sounds pretty awesome! I honestly love the Great Crusade era a lot, probably more than the HH itself. Ideally I would like to one day do a Great Crusade campaign like TemplarsCrusade01 and the gang did. Fighting Xenos and whatnot at first and then moving in to HH. Glorious stuff 🥳
@TomsHobbyAdventures ya luckily where I play I just use my pre primarch legions at locals and just use the post post primarch legions rules. Using crusade legions the armor colors and overall esthetic is so much better then 30k or 40k imo. With my imperial heralds I play then will gal vorbak BUT the gal vorbak are the only ones I red while the rest of the legion is still in the colors gray and gold with purity seals hanging alll over their armor and I use the anchorite dreadnought as well as argal tal with his custodes war gear like the lore when allowed to use contingents of other legions with one another I always mix hounds and heralds so argal tal and kharn can fight together (pre galvorbak argak tal) unable to use galvorbak argal becuase kharn would then have to be a world eater.
@@tebusan6217 That sounds awesome! At one point I was thinking of painting one of my Imperial Fists veteran squads in the original legion colours, I might still do that one day 😊
In that case I encourage you to at least give 30k a try! If you have played any of the older editions (3rd to 7th edition) I think you will be pleased. If you are unsure I would try to find a local 30k community or at least some likeminded players and give it a try with them before starting a massive project (unless that is something that you enjoy the hobby aspect of! then by all means go for it!)
