John is one of the best people to hear talk sports ever.
Nicest person in sports. He spent a long time at the Miami Airport with my dad when I was a kid. Class act!
He elbowed Parish in the throat.
He elbowed Bird in the Jaw.
He sprained Parish’s ankles.
He hooked Bird and slammed him to the floor.
My eyes work just fine.
He broke Isaiah’s rib and then punched him in that side again.

When you hear the stars from that 80s/early 90s generation talk and tell stories. It just seems like just a better league back then. The comradary, the respect for other great players even if they hated them. I think it'll be a long time before that generation will be topped as the glory days of the NBA.
That was the NBA golden era, no doubt.

John salley is a natural. Great radio voice too.
Laimbeer was an artist at bending the rules & not getting caught. His defense didn't shut you down it just made u play bad.

I don't know why Salley isn't one of the most recognizable, sought after ex-athletes in the world. His sense of of humor is so sly, and he's obviously so bright and quick, he should be a lot more famous than he already is. I like Barkley, but if I had to choose between a Charles Barkley interview and a John Salley interview . . . it's Salley all day, every day.

I didn't want to believe it, but after listening to John Salley describing it, and rewatching it, he is right, Rodman pulls Laimbeer down which brought Larry with him. Wow, did not expect to have my view of that changed.

Except you can clearly see Laimbeer's arm close lining Bird. I think Sally is trying to change history a bit cause Rodman and Laimbeer were his boys. I don't care of Rodman pulled him down or not, Laimbeer was trying to hurt Bird.
Yes, that is true that Rodman's leg hooked Laimbeer and took him down, but Laimbeer grabbed Bird took him down with him.

Watched that play at half speed and it looks like Salley might have a point. Dennis's leg was over Bird's shoulder and Laimbeer's arm got caught up in it somehow. The best part is the sound at 0.5 Tommy Heinsohn and Dick Stockton sound like a couple of drunks. LOL

I don't know why anybody gets mad about Jerry West and Winning Time. After watching Winning Time, Jerry West now looks more likeable and a cooler guy to me.

Stop it. There is literally nothing that Luka does better offensively than Larry Bird other than having a better handle.
Substitute the word “crazy” for “insane” or “blasphemous”.
Larry Bird is one of the greatest 5-8 players to ever walk the planet. As great as Luka is, he doesn’t sit at the same table as Bird, Magic, Kareem, Jordan, etc.
Maybe when it’s all said and done (after he wins three rings and three straight MVPs), but definitely not now.

Larry would have been top 5,maybe even top 3 all time , if he did not injure his back. The man was that good and the only thing that stopped Larry…was Larry. He injured his back while fixing his families house lifting bricks or something.
