TH-cam uses two types of audio formats - AAC (wrapped in an MP4 container) or Opus in a WebM container. For AAC, TH-cam will play a maximum audio bitrate of around 126 kbps.
For Opus, it can be between 56 kbps and 165 kbps.

This is by far the most detailed and technical reviews that I’ve seen on the Q30 and I really appreciate all the efforts that you put into this video thank you! Your range test was making me laugh. When you have a chance, would you record some Zoom or phone call for a reference? Since the moment I hear the voice from Q30 mic, I almost regret buying it, especially when you had the Bose mic following it. But thanks for your comments on phones and pc would enhance the voice.
It's not that bad. It's just that Bose mic is excellent! I use Q30 for zoom calls everyday and no complains yet!

@@ToolsElectroDIY I have both of these headsets too - have you noticed the difference with the 1.80 firmware on the Q30 (massive improvement in mic/recording quality)? Genuinely surprised me - now works (to my ears) better than the QC35 II and pretty much on par with my wired Plantronics headset (Blackwire C3220). I didn't think the firmware update would make that much difference, but it's quite dramatic!

@@ToolsElectroDIY really comprehensive and interesting! One more thing - I don't know if you tested the Q30 in wired mode, but I am curious as to is it just plug and play? Also I have 2 cables that have a microphone on them, so I suppose it would work just fine? It is the same type of cable found in the Q35's package.
@@HeX341 Yes the cable is the standard 3.5mm , the same as in Q35. Q30 in wired mode sounds the same as in wireless. I doubt that you will notice the difference.

It's very kind of you to say so and leave a comment! I'm sad to see Jim's review room to go to twitch and playing games all day. His channel has almost 1 million subscribers. At his level he probably has a team to help shoot and edit videos. Not an excuse for my poor editing skills, but TH-cam isn't my full-time job :P I spent at least 2 hours editing to produce 24 minutes video let alone shooting and coordinating audio tests! A video quality like Jim's probably takes a week to edit. He is definitely a role model for me!!!

hey man good video and awesome review!! i need a new pair of headphones to study at home with good isolation (two little brothers and a dog around....you know, kinda need to get away from all that hahaha!) after LOADS of different reviews, comparisons and videos i was pretty sure that soundcore q30 were my best option since i can't afford an expensive set
But this video did confirm to me that purchasing soundcore life q30 was a very good call from me, definitely the best review i've seen and trust me i've seen a lot!!
hope my set is a good one, it's the midnight blue option so it will stand out from the rest, pretty excited and definitely glad i didn't cheap out that much and got these over some MPOW or something

One thing you can improve is to add some kind of rubber feet or other shock isolation to your incredible setup.
It will absorb vibrations from desk which is obviously noticed in this video.

Thanks for your support. Theoritically , the wired sound quality should be better than wireless, but I just couldn't tell the difference with Spotify streaming music.

@@purplish_akari Additionally, music may sound more pleasing on wireless, thanks to EQs. When wired, there is no enhancement from the processing chip inside headphones, you hear what the 3.5mm source outputs.

these are great, i got them last year, the ANC focus is on the lower frequency spectrum, it can smush down the bass of music comming from the neighbours and my fan. higher frequencies still can be heard a bit but those aren't as annoying as the low frequencies.
