I like when Brea confesses that "she is not much of a princess" and talks about her eldest sisters. This demonstrates her humbleness despite the fact of being a princess and frankly, I like this kind of character (and personally, I always preferred that to any little "stuck-up Madam")
BEB156 But she’s also not one of those Princesses who spends all their time whining about how it’s So Hard to have folks wait on them hand in foot, or to be expected to do all this icky politicking when she just wants to run through flower fields & marry whatever cute boy she likes. Brea has accepted her role as youngest Princess and is willing to do whatever is in her power to help her people.

I wouldn't go that far. When he found out she could read and write, he reacted to her the way a human might towards an animal that has learned to do a complex trick. He see's her as an interesting curiosity. But he'd still kill her in a second to achieve his goals.

It might be more dangerous to refuse their "friendly" gestures though. It kind of reminds me of that Boards Of Canada tune "Beware The Friendly Stranger."
On Sept.2 2019, IndieWire reported that Addiss and Matthews were interested in and prepared for a possible second season: in an interview, Matthews said, "If we are lucky enough to get more seasons then the story will go on and we know where it's going and it's maybe more hopeful than you think," with Addiss noting, "we also have a concrete document for season two. So we are ready to go." the Future makes me so happy sometimes
From what I read of the supporting literature, Gelflings reach sexual maturity at the age of 40 trine. They are, after all, very long-lived in comparison to a human.
@@QUEENOBSCURE I really should amend my previous comment. The "supporting literature" isn't canon. I was duped! Still, Brea is a mature female as indicated by her wings being fully-formed and functional.
I know that skeksis pretend to be nice but they way they act nice is adorable and also how could they trust the skeksis with everything they saw their scary monsters
I can't help but wonder how fast the Armalings let the carriage travel when they are out in open country. Maybe 30 to 35 mph maybe? Or does anyone really know?
Here's a question-- if Brea is Kira's mom, why doesn't she fly away from the garthim in the vision rather than run away? Also, why does Kira have wings that allow her to only glide and not fly? The only female Gelflings that do not fly are the Drenchen who use their wings like fins for swimming. If Brea's wings have been disabled by the time she is fleeing the garthim, that would explain her running away, but could Kira's father be a Drenchen Gelfling like Gurjin?
It's actually kind of jarring to see Skeksis and Gelflings carry on civil conversation in this show, and so much later on they've been ruthlessly hunted into oblivion as per the movie.
It is so strange to see the Skeksis actually behave normally. Well more normal than we’re used to seeing with them. In comparison to the complete disgusting, violent and greedy monsters without restraint or manners, this is very unusual to see.
I read that most gelflings are illiterate (like Kira), and that's why SkekOk was so impressed with her. It would be so sweet to see Jen and Aughra teaching Kira to read and write. They would give her gold stars for getting her lessons correct! Kira would be so happy! Then they would go to the lost and forgotten library of Ha'rar where Kira would learn all sorts of things! Kira: "Jen, what does 'erotic poetry' mean?" Jen: 😲😉😁👍
