According to the producers, they wanted to make Cathy more relevant, not just a spouse that Jack confides in. By making her a doctor of infectious diseases she can play a bigger role in the series, which is a good thing. Abbie Cornish is great as Cathy.
Well then they should have stuck to the books where she is a world-renowned eye surgeon who wins the Lasker Prize for her innovations in using lasers for eye surgery. She saves the sight on a senior member of the Saudi royal family; which, leads to them helping Jack on an important mission and sets the stage for a friendly relationship once he becomes President.
I think it was back in the late 2000s. Soon after, he recruited a talented, young paper salesman from an office in Pennyslvania before he transferred to a new job at a sports agency.
The only thing I didn’t like about this series, is that Cathy is an EYE surgeon, not in infectious diseases. As someone who’s read every Tom Clancy novel about Jack Ryan, That’s a big screw up lol.
Infectious diseases brings her more into similar sphere of action. It's better to have plots converge and not be so seperated. But eh alot of you are basically not caring about adaptation.

What a name. Abbie Cornish fictious character
"I'm sure whoever cooked it would love to hear that" LOL all too true. I know that feeling.
Abbie Cornish is lovely. I'm sorry she doesn't get more shine in the US.
Yeah, screwing a powerful woman's husband at the beginning of your career tend to do that.
When did Bunk join the Agency?

Eventually he left Baltimore. The Gods did not save him.

And completely irrelevant
It isnt a screw up, its just something they decided to change
movie/ tv show adaptations change stuff all the time
Not a screw up, a change to make her more relevant to the story rather then just be jack ryans girlfriend
Why would you care about such a detail?
She would not have been involved with WHO and that jaunt to the Middle East with the bad gal! Plot twist.
Eye surgeon...why ruin it?
Could have made her a proctologist.
Infectious diseases brings her more into similar sphere of action. It's better to have plots converge and not be so seperated. But eh alot of you are basically not caring about adaptation.
Because of a new plot line.
She's gained a bit of weight from series 1
That means more boobies?? lol
She still look gorgeous
@@YhK-qu1pq true that
