On traumacore, I'd also like to note there's another related aesthetic called recoverycore. Like traumacore, it involves liminal spaces, sanrio characters, and darker yet childish themes, but it focuses on the healing aspect. I actually made a recoverycore image myself when I was experiencing major paranoia and depersonalization and it helped me feel better. I also like how recoverycore will sometimes use clearer images. Like the future is brighter as you heal.
@@gusty7153 I think they're more just intertwined. Kinda like how dreamcore is intertwined with old web, weirdcore, and traumacore. It's very common in the aesthetic community for things to intertwine in various ways, whether it be their visual medias, fashion styles, music, or any number of things.
i didnt realize until 3 minutes in that your channel is so small compared to how great your content is! based on your editing I would've guessed this had hundreds of thousands of views and I was so surprised, I hope you get the recognition your work towards this channel deserves!
Weirdcore and Traumacore are very dear to me. As a trauma survivor myself, these images give me comfort, even though I was a child when it happened. My nostalgia is intertwined with my trauma. I don’t get flashbacks, but I do get emotions that I felt constantly during that time (repressed memories). You did such a wonderful job explaining this feeling! Thank you!
I absolutely love the whole dreamcore/weirdcore genre so much. It's nice to see it gain traction lately online For the Roblox recreations part, it's referring to the vast amount of games on the platform that are recreations of liminal spaces in the dream/weirdcore genre like the Backrooms; my admiration with the genre even inspired me to make my own dreamcore "game" on the platform 😅
Can confirm this too! One of my favorite weirdcore games is Recollection. I also have hopes to eventually make a weirdcore myth game and characters with one of my friends, but I just need robux, motivation, and about a week figuring out how to Roblox Studio lmao
YOOOOO LETS GOOO thanks for using my edit at 6:48 feels so surreal lol. insanely good quality video for a channel your size, i could totally see this being uploaded on a channel with 100k+ subs
I love weirdcore. I love turning my surreal dreams into weirdcore renditions. They haven't ever trended but i think that makes them even more spooky when someone comes across original weirdcores and then they dont find it anywhere else. I dont mind if people start spreading them, i think its worth the community engagement.
And traumacore... i use it as a way to show emotions that there aren't really words for. I dont think traumacore is "beautiful" or "aesthetic" for me, it is a way to express emotion through artistic edits. Im not always into hello kitty or sanrio but i can relate with childhood rooms, school settings, and random places.
7:50 This actually works really well, i dont recommend doing it if your scared easily because I had hallucinations anywhere from hearing screams to seeing figures to getting squeezed. So yeah, dont do it if you get scared but it is a cool challenge.
My guess with Events of 2001 is that it’s a reference to the 1968 Film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Very liminal throughout, the space part of the photo is what makes that my guess
God this video is so good, very clear and to the point yet still captivating my attention the entire video, very informative as well!! As many others have already said, you are extremely underrated and I can only hope your channel blows up soon bc you definitely deserve the recognition!!
As both a therapist and a survivor of childhood trauma I appreciate traumacore and recoverycore as a way to process. That said the struggle is once art is in the world the creator can not know what will be done with it or who it might re-traumatize. I think you handled this part of the video both delicately and very well. I am subscribing.
Every time I go back to an old memory I think of this one place I don't remember it well but it had a rides in a white room there was a white party room with a picture of a clown on the wall and a really big teddy bear I think this is also got me to fall in love with weird core or nostalgia in general. . . I miss it alot. .
W Video. Should have been noticing you earlier, since I‘ve been on this weirdcore/dreamcore and backrooms stuff before the hype even really started. For me one of the best things is the music. I Love the music, sadly I can‘t find the names of the most. Keep it up, I like your content and voice
Weirdcore and dreamcore is an incredibly large comfort for me, it even helped me get through a very traumatic moment I had gone through where my house didn’t even feel like my own anymore. It could be connected to how nostalgia is a big comfort to me, but honestly I find comfort in the weird or strange. It makes me feel like there’s a place for everyone, including me, out there somewhere.
Taking you phone, putting on old minecraft music and then placing it under your pillow. You rest your ear on the pillow and start to hear the nostalgia of your childhood calling for you. You start to tear up because you never wanted to leave your childhood.
I think that Traumacore is actually more of a way to vent into a grim, yet nostalgic art. It's not considered an aesthetic, more like a coping mechanism. Although, like Spoopy Virgil said in the comments below, there are other ways to cope with trauma. But I do think getting it out and talking about it is a start.
weirdly enough i met one of my best friends on one of those roblox weird core adaptation games, it’s a game called Critterspace and in my opinion the best weirdcore game on roblox, alongside one called Clinic of Dreams, both very good games and i’d recommend if you like this sorta stuff !!! :3

i think an entry that would go perfectly on one of the top two tiers is the obscure playstation game LSD Dream Emulator. it perfectly captures the weirdcore and liminal space vibes, plus it’s what inspired ENA. also great video! your channel is super underrated, i’m excited to see what content you post next :)

I remember I used to enjoy the first song on "Everything at the End of Time". Now after I've listened to it, it just gives me a deep sense of dread, like I'm getting ready to go through that again.
18:51 THIS, I remember most of my dreams so vividly, they are always so complicated and mostly also nostalgic. I keep appearing in some Aquaparks, shopping centers, and some places that feels like I've been there. It's so interesting and I would love to know more about this stuff. It's also the reason why I love weirdcore so much.
Watching this video at midnight was an interesting experience to say the least. Great content that deserves more attention. Keep at it. You have definitely intrigued me with this new type off genre that I've never heard about before.

from my experience with traumacore, it's generally frowned upon in the community for those who havent experienced trauma to participate. in other words making traumacore art for the sake of it, is generally considered a not cool thing to do. Personally making traumacore type media has helped me recognize and confront some of my past trauma. both from making it myself and seeing art others have made. while it's certainly not for everyone, it can be very helpful if used correctly, and create a bond through shared experience with others. :] however i should also mention communities may have different 'rules' from platform to platform. I generally stay on tumblr and see weird-core and trauma core stuff there, where people say it doesn't matter what kind of trauma you've experienced, major or minor, you can participate. while I've also seen communities on reddit state you have to be a victim of major trauma.

As someone diagnosed with CPTSD, I use these aesthetics to cope with the pain that was my childhood, its helping me recover and process and express what ill never be able to explain how i feel to those around me. Especially because of my disabilities.
I think my interest in weirdcore came from a nightmare I had about a song from kazoo kid and P-I-Z-Z-A those videos used to scare me so much as a kid 🥲
10:56 🧐🤔 Anyway, last night I had a dream about this baroque-style mansion. It had lots of furniture you might see in your grandma's house. Also, the only dominant colors in the mansion were white, silver, clear, and sometimes yellow or pink. Outside was a simple neighborhood, but I never explored it because I felt uneasy to the thought of leaving the mansion FOR NO REASON. I was walking around, exploring the mansion. The mansion had a large living room near the entrance, a fairly sized kitchen with modern appliances, and a few bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs. There was a strange door in one of the bedrooms which just felt off, because there was a shadow outline around the edges of the door, as if a dark energy trying to get out. After few minutes of exploring the mansion, I noticed that it was getting dark and rainy. I heard a rushing sound that got louder and louder, from bathtub loud, to waterpark-bucket-drop loud, to Niagra Falls loud. I looked out the window and I saw a massive, supernatural rainstorm heading my way. It had literal webs of lightning constantly flashing and a torrent of wind, hail, and rain that shook the entire world. The storm had tornados that you see in click-bait thumbnails and also microbursts scattered around (If you don't know a microburst is, it is a weather phenomenon that has a strong downdraft of wind. In this case the microburst also had a massive amount of rain too). This entire nightmarish storm was behind the "whale's mouth" or "derecho" (search them up in images if you don't know what they look like). I was running in slow motion to the strange bedroom door, which was now inviting and felt like the escape. As I was running, I could see the tornados wrapping around the house trying to get me, and hail breaking through the windows of the mansion like bullets in an ungodly stream of wind and water. I felt a great disturbance in the air pressure and my ears felt like they were being crushed. Lightning was arcing through the broken windows, zapping around spontaneously through the living room. I was now running up the flight of stairs back up to the bedrooms. The lightning wasn't far behind me. I felt myself running slower and slower. I finally made it to the bedroom with the shadow door, and I opened the door. I didn't have time to think about what was inside and I lunged myself in. The door closed by itself and disappeared. It was a pitch-black room with no notable features. I started seeing spinning stars and I saw myself in third person. After hearing a loud beep noise, I woke up. I believe that the horrifying storm came from a recent event that happened. I was on a road trip, and I fell asleep. In the middle of it. I woke up to the sound of an EAS alarm and I saw a massive mesocyclone in the distance. This probably traumatized me for a while, and I kept getting these storm related dreams but this was the most recent one.
1:04 Oh... That undertale music alway's gave me some emotional vibe's, And Slowed down... It's even Sadder... Damn! 2:04 Oh, ENA is great! 2:30 "Don't you wonder what's Inside?" Is a Weirdcore Image that goes kinda deep, The Symbolism people could get from it is just really deep~ 5:54 Yeah, The Biblically Accurate Angel's, They are creepy, And really give's the qoute "Do not be afraid" More of a... Well, An understanding of why that would be said, They are honestly terrifying! 7:00 Yume Nikki is so cool, It's honestly a great game, And I'm not even a gamer at all, But that is a great game, From thing's I have Watched, I really like it, Great vibe's~ 7:12 Yeah, I see the Sanrio Character's in alot of Weirdcore, Dreamcore, Truamacore, Image's, Their cute, And I like it, I also like how that, In the Aesthetic's, They add to that Unsettling Nostalgic vibe, I really like that~ 9:30 I love Weirdcore, Dreamcore, Truamacore, And the help that they can give, Truamacore does reference alot of thing's from well... And creepy, Definitely give's off the vibe's of these Aesthetic's, Which is kinda Interesting~
After watching this video, I dove down inside the rabbithole of Weirdcore or dreamcore, I guess? I've watched quite a lot of them for a while. And what really gets me is when I get the feeling of nostalgia, I always zone out for a minute or two. Like I am completely one with the weirdcore stuffs I see online. What's more crazy is, since I know that I easily and vividly remember my dreams, or even just have a lucid dream, well it happened one time, I had a lucid dream about Weirdcore or some liminal spaces, It feels like I'm completely lost in a memory, even if I don't remember ever being in it. It feels like this strange feeling where you're stuck inside someone else's memory, but I know that it isn't, and well i only remembered those parts of my dream, but yeah I would love to do it again haha, since this video got me into Weirdcore. Thanks poi, you deserve more subscribers. Keep up the good content!
Bro I thought this was one of those big iceberg / weird topic channels until I read the top comment. This is really well made, you deserve way more than 1 thousand subscribers man!
weirdcore (or dreamcore) brings me nostalgia and comfort, it makes me happy and sad at the same time, i could talk about it and listen to songs that reminds me of it for hours
5:47 correction to this. In the Bible, there are multiple different kinds of angels that are described, they do not ALL look like that. The angel you described is a "Throne", which only appeared in the Book of Ezekiel. There are also Seraphs which have have six wings with two wings covering their legs and two covering their head, Cherebim who have multiple heads, and most importantly there are regular angels who DO look like humans. So artwork drawing angels as appearing human-like isn't actually Biblically inaccurate, it just isn't inclusive of what all angels look like. The Throne angels are what people bring up when talking about "Biblically accurate angels" simply because it is the strangest type.
This is actually a really good point. I was just referring to how no angels in the bible are depicted as women or babies. but I definitely should have been more specific. You're 100% right lol
This is something that I think would be a good thing to put on the iceberg I forget the name of the creator but them the back rooms ending videos are personally my favorite form of the back rooms I think it is the most weird core version of the back rooms
i had a similar dream where i was in a huge library that was based of my school library from my old school. It was weird because i haven't been to that school since i was very young. it had strangly high ceilings and short bookshelves too. also i love this video so much. ive been a weirdcore/backrooms fan for over a year now, and this video was very entertaining :> amazing job!
Life is very odd at times, it is full of such beauty and yet such pain. Doesn’t seem strange? A new day is starting, see what you can find, no matter how big or small. Good luck with your adventure.
Oh man I would definitely include that song called "13 Angels Standing Guard 'Round the Side of Your Bed" I discovered this song on a couple of trauma c. edits, and I just think it is a powerful song, it brings me heavy and strong waves of compassion and forgiveness, and sure it depends on the person who is listening but it goes good on a core edit if used properly
I love weirdcore! I'm so happy to learn more!! 🎀 Edit: I'm at the beginning and one of the caretakers series links so another thing I'm part of, the trollge incidents. This song always plays at the end...
The Computer lab man, I went to a private school in Pre-School and the Computer lab had those old Yellow Tint PC's with dial up. Thats where O get my obsession with the Weirdcore stuff
weirdcore/traumacore rlly got me through the pandemic lol it was so interesting to me i spent hours scrolling through pictures. also traumacore really helped me try and understand my past and how i felt so i would say it was a good thing for me but i can see how it could be bad for others.
does somebody remember that weirdcore video about someone finding a forest bed, then laying on it, all the while feeling a presence with him then the video ends in a sad tone because it is said "you feel the presence leave" pls i'm trying to find it
what is the name of that song playing at around 14:50? I have been looking for it for YEARS. I think I heard it once from a video involve the poolroom level of the backroom series and it has been stuck in my head for literally years. I attempted to find that video many times but to no avail. At one point I even thought I somehow made it up in my mind when I’m half asleep.
On traumacore, I'd also like to note there's another related aesthetic called recoverycore. Like traumacore, it involves liminal spaces, sanrio characters, and darker yet childish themes, but it focuses on the healing aspect. ooo true true :D
it gets better dude, it does
wouldnt those two be the same thing? like part of trying to heal and recover is to start off with "venting" which is what the traumacore is

I've been subjected to this unintentionally through Spotify. I knew most of the artists and stuff.
Bro I thought this was one of those big iceberg / weird topic channels until I read the top comment. This is really well made, you deserve way more than 1 thousand subscribers man!
thanks man!! that really means a whole lot :)
weirdcore (or dreamcore) brings me nostalgia and comfort, it makes me happy and sad at the same time, i could talk about it and listen to songs that reminds me of it for hours
Bruh my face lit up when I saw ENA, she really needs some more recognition the series are AMAZING
900 subs and you got content like this. I hope you get recognition soon bro 🙏
Nice video! You seriously have a lot of potential my friend! I wish you great amounts of happiness and success! :)
Great video! I have no idea how you don’t have more subs
agreed, honestly hope more people see it
thank u guys so much ur support legit means so much

i had a similar dream where i was in a huge library that was based of my school library from my old school. It was weird because i haven't been to that school since i was very young. it had strangly high ceilings and short bookshelves too. also i love this video so much. ive been a weirdcore/backrooms fan for over a year now, and this video was very entertaining :> amazing job!
"EVERYTHING." It's every where. 😄😄
So glad somones talking about the "tiktok weirdcore" it's sometimes so annoying!!!
How do you have so few subscribers? This is such high quality content! Subscribing~
Life is very odd at times, it is full of such beauty and yet such pain. Doesn’t seem strange? A new day is starting, see what you can find, no matter how big or small. Good luck with your adventure.
Very happy TH-cam recommended this to me. Now I can be an orignal hipster as one of your first 200 and some subscribers lol
5:51 omg i almost had a "well actually 🤓" moments over the angel
14:54 Events of 2001 probably refers to the ending of “2001 a space odyssey” which is commonly associated with liminal spaces
Mate why do commentary TH-camrs always say "Im sick sorry if I hear weird" yet be talking in the most beautiful voice ever
Edit: I'm at the beginning and one of the caretakers series links so another thing I'm part of, the trollge incidents. This song always plays at the end...

oooh, sweet! tweet it at me @weirdpoi
This is my first explanation for what weirdcore is. I thought it was just a type of music playlist on youtube lol
weirdcore/traumacore rlly got me through the pandemic lol it was so interesting to me i spent hours scrolling through pictures. also traumacore really helped me try and understand my past and how i felt so i would say it was a good thing for me but i can see how it could be bad for others.

does somebody remember that weirdcore video about someone finding a forest bed, then laying on it, all the while feeling a presence with him
then the video ends in a sad tone because it is said "you feel the presence leave"
pls i'm trying to find it
what is the name of that song playing at around 14:50? I have been looking for it for YEARS. I think I heard it once from a video involve the poolroom level of the backroom series and it has been stuck in my head for literally years. I attempted to find that video many times but to no avail. At one point I even thought I somehow made it up in my mind when I’m half asleep.
