A brief review of the Daiwa Labrax AGS 90m - Marc's big fluke rod for fishing inlets/jetties/bigger baits. AGS = Air Guide System, a proprietary carbon framed guide that Daiwa uses in several rod lines.

That thing is sweet. Looks like it loads really well with plenty of tip for a crisp snap. I bet you could toss a bait mile if you had to. I love the way these guys thump a lure.

This channel really helped me up my fluke game last season. I ordered a dialuna for this season and picked up the new shimano Vanford 4000 series for it. I’m about to pull the trigger on either a MH expride or MH poison adrena (wish you had a review on the Adrena to compare to the expride, not many videos on it. Okuma psycho stick looks really good too) anyways.. I’d like your input on those rods mentioned but also really want to know.. have you guys hooked into some blues while using these lighter setups? I know I saw a decent bass come up on the expride in a kayak video but would a gator blue just explode a poison adrena or the dialuna?
I have a couple of Adrenas I use in freshwater, imo I wouldn't spend more than Expride money for salt. The 7'2MH Expride is a great fluke jigger for sure...if I can only bring one spinning rod for fluke on the kayak that'd be the one. As for bluefish...a big blue you're gonna have to follow around using freshwater equipment, but that's easy enough to do from the kayak. You're looking at 2-3lbs of drag max for fluking with that kind of gear anyway.
@@CookingandFishing After I asked I ended up splurging one night. There’s a Luvias airity on pre-order and the adrena is here with the vanford on it. It has more backbone than I thought it would. I don’t really do much freshwater but I try to baby my gear. I’ll just do a prayer to the fish gods every trip and hope it stays in one piece.
That Luvias Airity is on my radar as well - which Adrena did you get...the 611MH? I have the 67ML and it's a bit stiffer than I expected. The 611MH is used for heavy cover "finesse" flipping in Japan, a very niche technique where they flip tiny jigs into flooded timber etc. I'm surprised they brought that model here at all, but I wouldn't be surprised if it made a perfect fluke jigger!

I have the same rod, and I picked up 2 other labrax rods (6'9'' M and 7'3'' H) for my kayak. I'm now having a hard time finding a use for my 9'ft (for fluking at least, its a nice bay striper rod).
The 7'3'' H is a BEAST and fills in the bigger bait gap. It's rated 10g - 60g. It's a wide range but the rating is very accurate. It's also much easier on the wrists.
Are you fishing a flat adjacent to fairly fast moving current/channel? Are those generally good placed to target fluke? I've mostly been sticking to fishing directly in current this year.
From shore, the 9'M Labrax is used for bigger waters and bigger presentation. Not my all-day setup but it is the right setup for fishing larger lures.This area is a shallow flat away from any channels. Just another area that will hold fluke, and fluke can be found anywhere!

any freshwater bass rod rated to 1/2 or 3/4oz will do the trick.

I am not familiar with the AGS Tournament, looks like a 4 piece rod with the newer AGS guides than the Labrax. I do think the Labrax is due for an update

The new 21 Labrax is more parabolic imo, but still a nice fast crisp tip with quick recovery for the light jigs.

do you ever catch fluke during the night from beaches? or is Fluke only daytime fishing?
I've known a few fluke pulled at night, but as a rule they are sight feeders and you'll do much better during the day.

I have the 8.6", mml, 5-28 grams and mine it's moderate action all day long. Don't know how the 9" it's fast action?

i love my 9ft Shimano Lunamis. How does this compare?
No clue, but if the Lunamis has a similar taper to the Dialuna, the Labrax is faster and crisper in action.

@@shore-moneyfishing1939 I dont know tbh mine is the Daiwa Morethan Branzino 8 ft 7-35g that is why i was looking at the Labrax 9 ft 10-50g something a bit heavier, i said before that Labrax is the Latin name for the European sea bass & so is Branzino in Italian.

Fishing the shoreline...what happens when you hook into a sizable cownose ray...which happens.
There are only 2 possibilities lol...but neither of us have caught a cownose fluking, I hooked one couple of years ago messing around with a JDM sinking plug (landed it on the Dialuna/4k Ballistic no sweat).

It's not "super high end" compared to say, the Branzino AGS or the Exsence Genos. No one is saying you need a Labrax AGS...simply providing a brief review on the rod.
