    Fry was so terrified of singing that he says he got hypnotised so he would feel a sense of calm when he said the words "Play it, bitch"

    yes. I particularly LOVE Stephen's reply:
    "No, I said we don't want any stiffness!"

      @fuzzincedinnadon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Indeed. Could've been a setup to another joke as well. When Stephen asked Hugh to relive making love the night before, I was half expecting the reply "I thought you didn't want any stiffness."

    • @Maleficent84
      @Maleficent84 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Another good one was Stephen’s response to Hugh saying “It’s not your fault. I’m rather tired” to which Stephen replied “We’ll try again later, if you like.” I love Stephen’s use of word play and double entendres.

      But then he went on to have him remember making love. There's gotta be at least a little stiffness there.

    Stephen Fry had to consult a hypnotherapist to overcome his fear of singing in order to perform this sketch. He tells the full story on Richard Herring's podcast: th-cam.com/video/Fvpb82-jw3c/w-d-xo.html#t=1h11m14s

    • @NighT-WolF85

      That is an awesome story. Would never have guessed that he was afraid of singing and thought that he was a professionell singer for quite some time. His singing in the sketch is brilliant.

    Stephen was remarkably young and fit. I still do have a weakness for that tall sweeping frame of his, especially during the INSANE ending.
