In about 1969/70 he installed a Rover V8 engine - I am to believe that he was the first person to fit one into an original Land Rover. There’s a photo he has of a crowd of people looking under the bonnet at this new-fangled engine in a £50 car. He eventually sold it in 1977 and bought a much more practical Rover P6. OPA566 was last taxed in 1992 but I’m adamant it’s still out there somewhere, in a barn or a farm waiting to be discovered.
old range rover looks like it handles it a bit better. wheel base and coils I suppose make the difference. or were the springs leaf in the old days for the range rover?
