This is artistry at its best. I wish that I can make trains like that altogether, in North America! Every sketch & details to the letter! I'm touched especially at the end of the finished product! I really got something out of watching this and want to learn this building skill, I thank you for sharing this video, I enjoyed watching!😀
What I think that this video teaches us, is that you don't need computer-aided design, or all sorts of complicated things, to build a model train. What you need is metal, a jigsaw, a soldering iron, a hammer, a punch, a vice, a ruler, a few bits of wood, and maybe some other items. You obviously need a lot of time and patience as well. And you need to practice. But as the saying goes: practice makes perfect. It's obvious that the poster spent many years perfecting his skill. However, the video is very clear about the steps he takes to come to a finished product. I find the video inspiring, because certain models are in the wrong scale, or simply unavailable. For example, I would be interested in having some more Japanese models (other than the Kato Shinkansen E5 Hayabusa), but in 1:87 scale, to match the rest of my collection. But they either don't exist, or they are very expensive. A journey of a thousands miles starts with a single step.
I am scale modeler and this is the first time I see someone using actual metal to create a train, I think it is amazing!! Excellent job! --------Greetings from Mexico!

@@jacekhozejowski2869 you only need a known reference to deduct the remaining dimensiones, for example, I use the height of a door frame, the diameter of a wheel, etc. Obviously you don't get exact dimensiones, but if work with care you can obtain a fairly good aproximation. Drawing whith pencil, ruler and paper you need to you do a lot of calculation, it's hard but not impossible; It was the way to do It before pc and cad software were accesible. Now It is easier with these tools.

ハンダは、私は最初はヤニ入りのハンダでやっていたのですが、フラックスを使ってヤニなしのハンダですると良いよって教えてもらい、こんなやり方をしています。
と言うのは、ヤニ入りのハンダの場合は、こて先にハンダを引っ付けてハンダを溶かした時点で、ヤニが蒸発してしまい、接合部分にハンダを持って行った時に、全然引っ付かないので、小さくハンダを切って、接合部でハンダを溶かすと同時にヤニが出て接合できるようにしていたのです。それが、フラックスを使う場合も同じように、切ったハンダをフラックスを流したところに置いておいて、はんだ付けするようになったわけで、まあ私も色々と試行錯誤しながら工夫してやっています。
まあ、失敗もあるかも知れませんが、通り一遍のやり方ではなく色々と工夫してやってみるといいと思います。うまく行く時もあれば、失敗するときもありますけどね。

キットは、どの辺まで出来ているのですか？
昔、友達がキハ65のキットを買って来ていましたが、車体の裾絞りなどは、全然曲がっておらず、前のところも、少し加工しないとだめな感じでした。
はんだ付けだけすれば良い状態のキットなら、買って来て２～３時間で出来てしまうのではないかなって思います。
そんな楽なキットは売ってないか！

後はもう、場数を踏むごとに、だんだんと小細工をするようになり、真鍮ならではの工作をしています。

あれほどの完成度、、キットどころか完成品でも観る事はない。。

大昔、「模型とラジオ」という雑誌に、真鍮フルスクラッチの製作記事が載っていて、こんなの一体誰がどうやって作るんだろうと疑問に思っていましたが、約50年経って解決しました。ありがとうございます。

高校時代は、科学の先生に言われたのですが、
「１日で作ろうと思うから、だめなんや！今日は１０分でも作業したら、それで満足しないと・・・」
ってね。
今は、そんな感じで、何かの片手間に、工作をしています。
今は、キハ82の900番台を作成中。
年齢は、関係ないと思います。鉄道模型社のエッチング板などサクッと組んでしまいそう。お見事。
でも、若い時は、若から晩まで、こればかりやっていたこともありました。
今では、することも一杯有りすぎるのかもしれませんが、こればかりやっているわけにはいかない状況もあって、少しずつ作っています。
これは非常に細部にまでこだわった素晴らしい作品です。 素晴らしい。 あなたへの称賛。

まさに神業ですね、お見事です！ゼロから真鍮板でフルスクラッチで完成されるまでどれほどの時間と費用が掛かりましたでしょうか？内装やDCとDCCとで動力システムにも拘りをされて魂が込んだ車両に仕上がってますね。素人ではかなりハードルの高い工作だと思いますが、この映像を手本に自分も挑戦してみようと思いました♪

でも、やっぱりキットには負けますね。
キットを買うお金がないのと、内装など、自作すると自分の思うように加工できるので、その辺は自由度が広がります。
時間は、朝から晩までまあ８時間労働で作るとしたら、１週間くらいで出来ないかな？
まあ、仕事をしながら、ビデオをキャプチャーしながら、ビデオを編集しながら、ドライブに行ったり、撮り鉄に行ったり、
こんな感じで、合い間合い間に作っているので、手掛けてから半年くらいかかっています。
以前トワイライトエクスプレスを作った時は、何もない真鍮版からボディーのみ、形にするのに、２両２日で作っていました。
今回は、内装など色々と作るので余計に時間がかかったのです。

昔は、紙でよく作っていたのですが、それが、真鍮と言う金属加工になったのです。
やってみるとペーパーよりも、楽な事も、色々とあります。関西の国鉄時代は、あまり撮影していないのでできないですね。

色々な点で迷いが無い点の事ですよ。
さらに、失敗を恐れてない。
凄い作業です
まあ、慎重にやっているのです。
でも、スシ24を作った時に、大失敗しました。
完全にきれいに加工し終わって、折り曲げ作業に入る直前になって、窓が１個 少なかったのです。
その板金をボツに出来なくて、何とか切り貼りして、窓を増やしました。
まあ、こんな失敗もしながらの作業ですね。

I get from the monthly magazines of railways drawings.
or When the actual vehicle is running, I take a picture from the side and calculate the approximate dimensions.
Well, drawing a technical drawing is not a problem. The real thing is, where to get dimensions from.
@@jacekhozejowski2869 you only need a known reference to deduct the remaining dimensiones, for example, I use the height of a door frame, the diameter of a wheel, etc. Obviously you don't get exact dimensiones, but if work with care you can obtain a fairly good aproximation. Drawing whith pencil, ruler and paper you need to you do a lot of calculation, it's hard but not impossible; It was the way to do It before pc and cad software were accesible. Now It is easier with these tools.

昔は、紙で作っていました。真鍮は、初めは手こずりますが、なれるとこんなもんか！てな感じでやっています。
@@HobbyVideos そうなのですね！私も今紙で模型を作っているので将来主さんみたいに真鍮で作ってみたいです笑
紙で作る時も、屋根なども木材を使わずに、全部紙で作る技法を知っていれば、真鍮にも移行しやすいですよ。
それと、前面の屋根のカーブなどは、髪だとバルサブロックを削ったりしてパテで作っていましたが、真鍮は適当に曲げて、後はハンダをてんこ盛りにして、削って作ります。やってみると、やれば出来るもんです。
I've nearly finished my 1.5-inch scale 4-8-4 Northern Pacific steam loco. Your excellent construction video has just made me realise what sort of projects to do next? A subject that has been on my mind for somtime now! Any way, some HO scale locos and rolling stock are now on my "future project" list.

I think 1.5 inch models are big.
In Japan, you can't run them in large spaces.
So, I do 1/80 scale model.
