  • I detect a World War 2 firearms range tucked away in the hinterland ranges. The site was predominantly used by local Volunteer Defence Corps and other visiting forces. #AustralianWarHistory #303 #QueenslandWarHistory #Equinox600 #Vanquish540 #RelicHuntingAustralia #303LeeEnfield #MetalDetectingAustralia #MetalDetectingQueensland #maverickqadventures

G'day Mav, looked like a fun day,

    It's always producing something
I found a full mortar fin not long ago , thanks for sharing mate 👍

Cheers. Yes, those types of sites are golden. I saw your full fin motar find. It was awesome. Hope I find something like that. This was just a brief visit but will be getting back there soon for a proper go at it. 👍👍👍

Hi Mav. I am always interested at how nature takes over when humans leave. What distances do you estimate they were shooting at ? Beautiful country Nice video

Hi Charles. I'll put the tracker on the next time I'm there and give you some distances but there were at least five firing mounds and they were way over 100m apart. I'm sure I travelled at least 300m from the target mound to the first firing mound I detected. I'll have a good look around next time and draw up a mud map. Cheers.
