Cheers mate. I haven't uploaded for a while but hope to start going through some of my video footage over the break to pull some new content together. 🙂

With the Vanquish, I basically have it on the factory settings as if it was straight out of the box. I use the coin mode and turn the sensitivity down about 2 notches. That's about it. I don't have to do much at all with it, which is why I love it. mind you, I am usually coin shooting with it, so that what suits me for that. 👍

Ha ha 😆. Nah he's alright. He watched for a while and we had a big chat afterwards. Since then, he's started asking around the town for me about some other spots. So long as he doesn't tell anyone else 😉.

@@maverickq_aussie yeah was a nice haul of coins! Would be interesting to find out what detectors the other guys that hunted there were using? Just goes to show u can find more and more out there in a heavily detected area. Keep op the good work. Enjoyed the video. Cheers

Thanks. I swing the Vanquish 540 as well and have had some great finds with it. Lifting the coil is a great test for those junky targets, especially drink cans and those larger items. Those 1 and 2 cents pieces are always going to be part of detecting because they sound so damn good 😁....gotta dig them to find out. Cheers. Good luck when your next out and about. 👍

Oh yeah...definitely. 👍 I got a pair of Hunter's Elements Venom Gaiters for Christmas and they will get a lot of use as I have had a few close calls last year. Going into scrub prepared from now on.👌

For these first few visits we were digging everything to see what was there and for the chance of any odd relics etc. as the site was abandoned in 1890s, so everything was going to be old. Near the end I was discriminating 16 and up to include the buttons in my range. Yes, it was very hard work in the heat, but now we have a fair idea of what to expect and what settings we can apply next time around. I'll call it my curiosity phase. 😉

I just use the Vanquish on the money/coin setting (06:21) with nothing else done. I use this when coin shooting and it seems to do the job quite fine.

It's a great machine. I just started off on the basic settings and hunt in the coin mode. It seems to do the job. It does really well in ionised ground and where my other machine suffers from interference, the Vanquish is stable and quiet as a mouse. I hope you have lots of fun and find some great stuff. 👍😁

Cheers. Yes that little coil is certainly a great option to have. I've since bought a 6" coil for the Equinox as well. Both these little coils are beasts for getting amongst the rubbish targets.

It's a cheap Saxon brand compact shovel from Bunnings warehouse (Australia). Nice small shovel face/head on it. I also noticed that Bunnings have recently introduced a long handle version with the same small face/head. I'll be getting one those too. But the small compact one is easy to carry around and doesn't standout to people who may be watching you when detecting parklands and footpaths. I have smaller digging tools too, but the little shovel just creates a better clean plug.

Some people give me flac about my little shovel but it comes in really handy for digging nice clean plugs in parkland grounds...leaves practically no sign. Hi Peter, I would bring the small coil out after doing the field with the larger coil. I would use the small coil to target those trashy areas where a got multiple signals so I can get in between them and distinguish whether any of them are worth digging. Small coil definitely takes more time so only target specific areas I want to look at again. It's a whizz for finding small coins such as threepences that might be sitting on their side and missed by the larger coil.

I know...I keep forgetting. Too excited. Just got a new spray bottle so no excuse now.
