A pure gem to the industry ❤
Hansal Mehta directed so good films. Even films like Chhalaang, which is not his kind of genre was made so well and entertaining. Omerta, Shahid, City lights and Even Web seiries like Scam 1992 ( India's most rated series) and Scoop( released this year in june, must watch). Before Scam 1992 I did'nt even know who Hansal Mehta was but now I am huge fan of him.

SRK starrer RAEES was reportedly based on Gujarat-based gangster Abdul Latif, but the makers denied these reports and called the film as a work of fiction!
But neither did the makers nor news called it a biopic.

Ajay Devgn's movie "Once Upon a Time in Mumbai" was also actually a biopic in that movie Ajay Devgn's character Sultan Mirza was inspired from a real life gangster Haaji Mastaan.
You guys missed Soorarai Pottru which was also an excellent movie based on the life of GR Gopinath . Please do cover it in the next part.

Many people doesn’t know that Manto by Nandita das is not biopic, it’s more like a combination of 6 to 7 short stories written by Manto himself and Manto real life was barely touched in that movie ,although I would recommend you to watch Pakistani Manto by Sarmad Khoosat that one you can call biopic.
My fav till now is OMERTA because its unbiased in its storytelling and lets the viewer decide the right and wrong.

The best part is when Mohan goes to collect rent from Haridas... very heartbreaking scene... reality of India.

@@sagaronline265 because Youth only want love stories and romance but this movie shows reality of village's life, their problems, casteism and ideologies, the bitter truth of India. I think box office collection is not the only parameter of any film to be good or bad.

I think The Big Bull was also actually based on Harshad Mehta's Story.But makers told the story of Hemant shah because it is very obvious that majority of people will compare it with Scam 1992.

It you wanna see the acting calibre of Rajkumar Rao watch Omerta, those eyes literally haunted me in the movie, Shahid and trapped has great acting too but it's mostly based on Physical exhaustion of a character but his acting in Omerta has alot of internalization and adaptability, only wish he didn't tried that british accent in the later half of the movie ❤
And the movie itself is so good, i love Hussain zaidi books and he's a phenomenal writer but when I read his book Dangerous mind to get more insight on why educated and people financially stable people joins terrorist organisations I couldn't find an answer, but this movie gave me soo much insight on this topic a must watch movie

It is very weird that most of the movies i haven't heard before and it Is also a weird thing that max of the time we only heard about propaganda movies and movies like student of the year 2.
