@@bep86 I don't have limits to experiment in music and pedal chains, but a reverb into the sy1 sounds really bad to me. But man, everyone has his own taste. 😊
I have the SY-1 and a lot of the types/variations lack sustain on the wet signal so it benefits a lot from a big reverb or event a delay. I used a reverse delay with some organ/bell settings and it was a lot better than just sy-1 alone

Tangerine Dream/Pink Floyd/Jarre/Vangelis + Shoegaze/post-rock all in a box. You can have another instrument play some expressive leads while the guitarist chills and supplies the ambience without a laptop-backing track. Variety is the spice of life!

I am curious about playing technique versus the tech of the pedal. Most of the note changes sound like fade out- fade in the new note, like when you turn down guitar volume, pluck the string, then ramp up the volume. Am wondering what faster note playing sounds like. You got some great sounds from that little box.
I wanted to try some of these sounds out, but before I dialled to these settings the first sound I got out of the guitar was extraordinary. They're made for each other That said my SY1 tracking has a VERY heavy bias to the bass - often ignoring treble notes if they're played at the same time (in a chord). Is this the case for you too? Was a tiny bit disappointed

Whoa! 🤯 I saw a couple of new MacBook 💻 Pro’s in a Pawnshop Sealed & to get a better deal, I had to buy a few other things. This was sitting in a case next to PS Controllers, a mistake on their part & I got it for $90 just to resell along w/a JBL Series 3 Monitor Speaker that I got for $45 Brand New - I was curious was the pedal sounded like & I’m a massive Sigur Ros & Explosions In The Sky fan about to go record my Debut Album at ARC Studios. Needless to say, I am NOT putting it up for Sale on EBay & I was just about to, almost did last night w/o listening. 1 & 10 are my Faves so far. Can’t wait to play it with my DD-7 - Thanks for the video! I Subscribed & can’t wait to check out your other videos. God Bless + Godspeed

@@francismcfadden3305 I bought the SY-1 literally days before the SY-200 was announced. I loved the sound but hated the lack of presets and tap tempo...so I returned it and preordered the SY-200. I've been jonesing for my guitar synth fix ever since. Still another 2-ish months to go before the SY-200 hits stores here in the U.S. according to the Boss website.
Thanks for this. I own this pedal and I find the high-E string does not track well. Also, not very many useful sounds, despite all the variations. The Synth9 pedal is better IMO.

Yeah I thought I didn't really like the synth pedal that much until I discovered using it with reverb. Great for ambient cleans and such.

The biggest disadvantage Is you can’t save settings. If I want a sound fast, this pedal is useless. It’s good for record on the go and some jam fun.
SY 200 literally just got released not to long ago it's this pedal basically but with midi presets. Check it out
